The passing of a wonderful man, who gave us a home away from home!

As I have shared many times before - our family has not grown small due to a daughter being a nun... rather it has grown by hundreds and beyond!  The Community of the Lamb has added to our lives and our family immensely!
It was so wonderful to see our dear friends. Eileen and Bill, at the dedication of the Little Monastery here in Kansas City fall 2 years ago.  Today our dear friend, Bill, passed away.  He embraced us as we faced John's brain cancer and offered us a home away from home while we fought the giant!
Talk about Divine Providence!  While Bill and Eileen were working in France they met a family in the grocery store, and became Godparents to their new baby daughter, then she came to go to high school for a year, and eventually became little Sister Judith with The Community of the Lamb, and so when a new postulants' family came to Rochester bewildered as we heard the word that our 20 year old son has brain cancer.  We received a call from The Little Sisters newly come to Kansas City along with the phone number of  Judith's Godparents there.  This wonderful couple provided us with a wonderful home away from home!

Hallel with her spouse at the time of the dedication Sept 15,2013.  Such a beautiful sight to behold - her love for Jesus above all else.   I am sure that the Community is lifting up Bill as he goes to join Jesus and Mary in heaven.

Jesus, hold our dear friend/family close to your heart burning with love for him.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
So sweet to see Gus with Hallel.  It is so special for the nieces and nephews to have The Community in our lives, and to have such amazing examples of Faith and asking for the Lord's plan in their lives.  They will definitely consider religious life as a wonderful possibility.
