"in the risen Christ through Mary"... St Bernadette!

Rose watches Great uncle Ed come up the driveway in the tractor pulling the planter this morning - the first day of planting!
Early to rise today as the spring work of planting is to begin!  The tractors with planters behind are whizzing down our road, after some days in the 70s the soil is now warm enough to welcome the seeds.
I found myself washing out these butterfly wings and putting them out to dry in the sun and the ever present wind...  Mary is framed and draws my heart.  Sitting at breakfast, after my farmer and I prayed, read the readings for today, which are amazing, I made his lunch and wished him a wonderful day... I reread a special thank you I had gotten in the mail from a priest friend of mine.  I was pleased to read his ending - "In the risen Christ through Mary."  The Magnificat is so good about reminding me that Saturdays are specially devoted to Mary, the Mother of God, so this added to my photo shoot of Mary and the white fluttering butterfly wings in the bright early rising sun!
Then to add to the amazingness of this day devoted to Our Lady - the reminder by Fr Craig that today is the feast day of St Bernadette!  Happy feast day to my granddaughter, Bernadette Bandzuch!

"Bernadette Soubirous was born in 1844, the first child of an extremely poor miller in the town of Lourdes in southern France. On February 11,1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette in a cave above the banks of the Gave River near Lourdes. In a vision on March 25 she told Bernadette, 'I am the Immaculate Conception.'" -American Catholic
A very brief window into her life...  this all happened in Lourdes which is huge for us as we have been there twice with John and Hallel!

Father Craig and John at Lourdes in August of 2009 just two months after John discovered he had brain cancer!

On the cross of cancer to find Faith/LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT/Jesus and His Bride, the Church, through Mary!  So true for John!  How he loves Our Lady, and it was so fun to just now talk to him and tell him the good news that today is St Bernadette's feast day!  Lourdes is such a powerful place in our hearts, and for so many as many miracles of healing have happened there over the last 158 years.  She entered in so hugely in John's healing, and his love for her never ends but just grows larger and larger.

Hair gone from the whole brain radiation... back to be with Hallel for her first vows in July of 2011.  He is so in LOVE with his Spiritual Mother, Mary.  I think it is safe to say that John has wholeheartedly embraced his Faith in Jesus and The Church through Mary!
How this is True for John this day - the words of St Peter and the 12 to Jesus after many left him when Jesus mentioned eating His Body and drinking His Blood..."Do you also want to leave?"  Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.  We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God."

Through the crosses in our lives, we come to know The Truth of Jesus through Mary and how He loves us and cares for our every need with unconditional love and forgiveness and mercy!
"I am at my command station."  Ruth at her wonderful sink and windows to observe all that happens on the farm!  Oh yes, and cow TV continues - 2 calves yesterday and the end is in sight!
Such a view!  Guardian Angel watch out for the farmers may it be a safe and sane planting time.

The morning has flown by and I need to wrap this up... How I would love to go on and on about how Mary takes us to Jesus... all I need do is look at John and how he shouts with JOY whenever she is mentioned and how he turns to her with her "Hail Mary" prayer with every request and need and hope and care and thanksgiving and weakness and illness and happiness and all that comes to him.  So many times he will pause and ask to share a "Hail Mary" and the request as we pass through life.  It is such a great blessing to share this love with my son!  Now that he is living and working away... I have no doubt that he continues to look to Jesus through Mary!
Watching mom and grandpa loading corn...

Jesus with your Mother at your side... how I long to give my all for you this day and always!   May we share your Truth this day and may many come to believe that you are Lord.  Come Holy Spirit an be our guest.  Be with all the farmers that are busy feeding the world.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
Filling the planter
Paul and David digging ahead of the planter just across the road from the farm this morning.

So true of Our Lady and why we love her so much!  She is the sweetest honey of humility!

It is so amazing - all the times she has come to us, and here she converted millions to know Jesus, her Son of God!

Looks like my babies...
