Beginning at the beginning..."Clap your hands with shout of JOY!" Psalm 47

Where do I begin?  At the Beginning of my life on the farm and now watching the 4th generation loving and embracing the Life we call farming.  This picture speaks a thousand words today of the miracle that happened for me yesterday on the most glorious of days!
The lilacs were perfect, the apple blossoms, which will be all blown away by this huge wind today, were glorious, the winds were light and the temps warm and the sun settling on heads and shoulders and knees as we sat out in the grass at Ruth's...  Is this for real?  I would ask myself as 4 generations shared an idyllic noontime on the farm!
It was a small slice of heaven in how everything fell into place from catching Pat with a minute to come and visit with us and watching him do a round of digging.
To grandkids and lilacs as we sat under the clothesline and watched Ruth put a load of clothes on the line - her 6th load for the day!
Mom and I both agreed that it was like stepping back in time to watch kids running back and forth through the wet clothes while mom puts them on the line.
Luke and Rose are two ways we can get grandma to smile these days!
Luke shows great-grandma how he likes to pat Roger - grandma said that she likes Roger better than Holly.
Rose demonstrates the climbing tree!
And poses on a perfect day!  Today is going to be mostly a photo share of the wonderful time we had bringing Pat's mom out to see Ruth's remodel of the farmhouse and enjoy a perfect day!
Luke, Rose with leaves, Roger, great-grandma with her hands full, and Rose filling every last inch of her clothesline!.  The joyful words of Psalm 47 today just fit with the happiness I hold in my heart, mind and soul for our time yesterday!
Entering the house to see the changes with great interest!
All the light and the view of the farm from the windows is impressive!
4 year old Rose is hungry and starts making lunch!
Ruth's command center and Luke with something on his mind and it is probably concerning tractors!
Rose shows Great-grandma one of the 4 orphan kittens they are feeding.
Kitten feeding time and a visit from Luke
How we love the 8 foot patio door!
Grandma in the house!  Pinch me... this must be a dream!
All you peoples, clap your hands,
shout to God with cries of gladness,
For the LORD, the Most High, the awesome,
is the great king over all the earth.
R. God is king of all the earth.  Psalm 47, and the words of my heart this day!
Sharing lunch with the view of the farm and the glorious day outside and inside!
Did I mention the Sun pouring in?  Rose and Carmel the kitten snuggling in the sun.  "Grandma he is purring!"  Sure enough... he must have felt the love and happiness in the air too!
Such softness speaks to me of how good and right this change has been.  My mother-in-law asks me if I miss being on the farm.  "No, this is right, and Ruth has made it her own in such a special and wise way."
Rita just back from giving a ride, Ruth got a call to give a ride to her dad, and so our time is over, but we got this special picture of the 4 farmwives together and gathered around the reason for our wonderful lives on the farm!  4 farmwives happy to have some time together to celebrate a most spectacular day filled with bean planting and family time!  Such a gift to all of us!
These words from the Gospel today are so true and each one pictured here has experienced this truth as farm women and mothers!
"you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived;
but when she has given birth to a child,
she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy
that a child has been born into the world."  John 16

Pat's mom had 10 children including my Patrick!  He also carried forth her love of the farm!  Thanks, mom for my life and as a result Ruth's life and now her kids are having the life she had, and for her to want that and foster it means she loved it, too!  My heart is full this day!

Jesus, time together sharing is by far more wonderful than stuff for Mother's day.  On our way back home after this amazing time together mom and I said that this was our Mother's day gift to each other and we both were wiping tears.  "This life is all because of you, mom!"  Jesus, we are filled to overflowing with all we have been given - most especially the gift of LIFE to protect and cherish at all costs!  Be with all mother' and help them to value and honor the life within their wombs from conception to natural death.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Riding with Pat at sunset behind Ruth and Paul's farm... sharing with great JOY the wonderful day I had with his mother!  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Literally driving off into the sunset and sharing the good life!
