"Your mercy reaches... to the clouds" Psalm 36

I absolutely LOVE clouds!!  In this picture I could have cropped it much closer, but I wanted to add the beauty of the clouds that day as well as the heartwarming scene of Luke giving his big brother a hug while holding a kitten in front of the cows and calves coming into the pasture to eat grass.  So often I am stepping back or crouching down to try to capture the kids in the clouds!  We have had photo shoots on fence posts to make it appear that they are sitting in the clouds!  Yes, I love clouds and will spend time just gazing up into the heavens and watching the big puffy ones kind of break away or change in shape and feel closer to Jesus, the Saints and heaven.   Mostly marvel at the wonder of our beautiful world created by God!
This was one of the fence post shots taken about 25 years ago by the girls for 4H... obvious little John with a kitten won out over the clouds behind him.

After the first reading today calling out Israel for turning away from the Lord and then the Gospel about how we have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear and do not hear... It was reassuring and gave me a warm glow to read the psalm for today - #36
Lord, your mercy reaches to the heavens;
your faithfulness, to the clouds.
Your justice is like the mountains of God;
Your judgments like the mighty deep.
With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.

How precious is your mercy, O God!
The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings,
They have their fill of the prime gifts of your house;
from your delightful stream you give them to drink.
With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.

For with you is the fountain of life,
and in your light we see light.
Keep up your mercy towards your friends,
and just defense of the upright of heart.
With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.
Beautiful cloud display over the cows towards sunset in the pasture in the middle of the farmyard up to their bellies in the lush grass!

This summer is lush with all the wonderful rains that come and come and come again!

A year ago and reminding me that I need to cut my hair!  Just back from Ruth's on this hot day as we are picking up bales and I am the gopher - picking up kids from swimming lessons, taking in some birthday bars for Son-in-law, Paul, on his birthday... Happy Birthday Paul!,  and making lunch over at the farm.  I forget how much food it takes to feed 5 kids, and 4 adults!
John and I with clouds and the Big Lake probably close to 20 years ago now...   Can you tell that I am on a mission to find cloud pictures?  Clouds are a sign of all is good in the world and this world is a sure sign to us of how much the Lord loves us for me.  It is probably that feeling of wonder at the glorious sight as well as use for the world in bringing shade on a hot day but foremost bringing the rains to water the earth!  With you is the fountain of life, O Lord.  Psalm 36

This one!!!!  When I thought of cloud pictures this was the one that I burned to find.  John had just discovered 7 years ago that he had a tumor in his brain, and we were hope waiting to find out what we needed to do next.  We had so many praying for us, and we had a gathering in the little red barn here - Appreciation for your support ice cream party.  I looked up to see this huge cloud and John's precious head in front of it.  Talk about being in the clouds!  And truly the Lord's Mercy reaches to the clouds!
The amazing clouds and water in Michigan almost 20 years ago!

Yes, Lord, we are less than perfect as we attempt to be your disciples and follow after you down the narrow path carrying/dragging our most cherished Cross and following you.  Our ears don't hear and our eyes don't see our selfishness and our indulgences until it hits us right between the eyes.  Our inclination is to fight back or return insult for injury, yet we are called to "Wounded, I will not cease to love."  May we die more to self this day and when we get out of the way then we can hear and see with the eyes and ears of our hearts filled with your LOVE and Mercy!  Your Mercy for us reaches to the glorious clouds in the heavens.  May we lay our burdens at your feet and walk ever more in your presence and Truth.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Another one of my favorites clothesline pictures!  Simon will be 12 in a couple months - so probably over 10 years ago.
Roger is a favorite in pictures with clouds and a little 3 year old girl - 5 years ago in the climbing tree!

The heart-shaped clouds in this engagement picture out in the pasture about 14 years ago  - a mega favorite!
