4th day like no other - thanks to ice storms and FAMILY

Beautiful newest granddaughter, 2 1/2 month old Evangeline, is smiling all over the place and loves when she sees her brother, 4 year old Patrick!

Our house was FULL, and we are always loving it when that happens.  I looked out on the red barn with its' sign - Family Time is the Best, and realized that this was exactly right to express the wave of Family that had washed over us on our 4th day arising this morning with the sun bright and beautiful on our white snowy landscape.  Our 5 grandkids from Missouri arrived ahead of the ice storm, and only see minimal snow there, so to see the beautiful white thick blanket of snow out the window was special!
Therese cares for her baby sister... she is mom's best helper!

I need to keep this short today as there is a lot of settling in happening with Maria and her 5 kids - 8 and under moving in for 5 months... We also shared our morning with 4 of our TEC family here due to the uncertain roads due to ice.  Awaking to share breakfast and morning prayer and visiting and hearing Maria's tales of her 11 hour trip getting here from Missouri to our Marshall farm with 5 kids and a dog!  It was the best of family time!  Our shared prayer was the best of the best!
She looks so much like my baby pictures and looks like my 4 girls looked!  She is so proud of being able to stand up with help now!

We shared the Gospel before our friends headed for home, and the great St Anthony feast day!  We laughed as we had shared many great St Anthony stories of how he interceded for lost items for most all of us!  A perfect example of the way the Saints can be a simple help to us in our mundane day to day lives!  We also learned about how he sold his estate and gave all to the poor and then started the practice of monasticism and the first monks, as well as that wonderful word from my early Catholic days that gives me jolts of JOY - asceticism!  How I loved to read Thomas A'Kempis and Thomas Merton, and gleaned from them so many "God winks!"
The Best... John and Paul making me laugh from my heart with their crazy skit!

The first reading from today
"we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged
to hold fast to the hope that lies before us.
This we have as an anchor of the soul,
sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil,
where Jesus has entered on our behalf as forerunner,
becoming high priest forever
according to the order of Melchizedek."  Hebrews 6
Love to laugh with all abandon, and I was so gifted with lots of that over these last days of our Together Encounter Christ retreat!   It is so true that laughter is the best medicine!  Hallel came up a lot for me in my sharing and her name meaning total praise describes what I was blessed with as The Holy Spirit filled me to the brim and overflowing with His LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!  What a blessing to share the weekend with my husband and son and TEC family old and new! ...  I have a permanent smile on my face this bright and beautiful morning.  We always call the days following our 3 day TEC retreat/Together Encounter Christ, the 4th day and with this chance to share the first 4th day with those stranded here due to illness and ice... we laughed that this could start a new tradition of houses of those in the town were TEC was held to open their homes for others to stay and have another sharing on that Family level... Come Holy Spirit and yes... Family time is the BEST .... especially when we share our Faith with JOY!
Grandpa big arms are made to put babies to sleep in the safety and security...  "She is so pretty."   he says over and over!

Jesus, we long to carry forth this blessing we have been given called sharing our Faith as a Family with great JOY!  May we always love and serve you without counting the cost!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Therese looks like she is already tired of grandma's pictures... So it begins!  My daughter, Maria loves to organize an she has a huge job here with making this her home for the next 5 months!  After just packing up her home in Missouri... she amazes me!  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
