Our expanded family...The Community of the Lamb/Little Brothers breaking ground in KC!

Grandpa and Godfather, Uncle Johnny, with Josephine and my glow in the dark rosary around her neck and in her mouth at Christmas Day mass at Lumen Christi/LIGHT of Christ Monastery of the Little Sisters of the Lamb in Kansas City... soon there will be pictures galore of our Easter day mass with them and our daughter of the Lamb/Little Sister Hallel!  We are just days away from heading South to Kansas City.  What delight to get a call from Susan/Hallel yesterday asking for us to bring them/one of the 6 families we make food for to bring them meat and our canning.  How it rings like a joyful bell for me to hear her request and confirming that they are truly our Family of the Lamb!
Little Sister, who he worked with Pat on some construction projects while we were in France 6 years ago, and a young girl, Morgan, from Minnesota, who is looking to join the order.  Now she has been able to meet our Susan, who arrived in the states about 2 weeks ago, and share with a fellow Minnesota girl about their calls to Jesus!  I am so excited to see the two of them together!
Wonderful news from the Little Brothers in the mail today... They have earned 85% of what they need to build their own little Monastery in Kansas City...Light of Mary, Mother of God!  They will start ground breaking in June!  Hallel is going to be in a play they are putting on in celebration on April 29th!  A few days after she will be coming home for her first home visit in 4 years!  Talk about a celebration!
John with Little Brother Clement, who is also an American from Florida, and joined the order just minutes before Susan/Hallel.  He and John have shared a lot over these last 8 years!  Brothers for sure!
John bringing his Goddaughter, Josephine Frances, into Lumen Christi Monastery on Thanksgiving and Easter, too?  We hope and pray that John and Pat can make it down for Easter!
On the anniversary of Hallel's home visit 4 years ago... we had to have snow when it was 80 degrees on Saturday... just 3 days before!  The sun is thankfully out today and most of the snow is only a memory.  More and more excitement is building as we come ever closer to our time with our Hallel and her amazing Community of the Lamb!

They have now been asked to start a foundation in Florida!  In the newsletter the sharing is so deep..."We were sent to announce the loving mercy of God, whose love for us is so great that he made himself a poor beggar for our love, knocking on the doors of our hearts."

A powerful story they shared; During an "open table," Pedro who was living on the streets, shared with everyone with tears in his eyes, that he had just found out that he has cirrhosis of the liver. "The doctor told me that I only have a few months to live."  Around the table... silence, then moved with compassion, a prayer is begun for our friend Pedro.  A few days later he accepted to go to detox.  He has been alcohol- free since January, is staying in a good shelter, is doing much better, and hopes to soon get a job.  Praise God!  Things are still fragile, so please pray for him.
"Those aren't my fingers?!?"  Soon Evangeline will spend some time with her cousin, who is 5 months older than she is!  Little Josephine is a month away from being 1 year old!  Maria and I leave on Thursday morning, and on Friday after Good Friday Services at the Little Monastery with Hallel and The Community of the Lamb... Maria will go to the airport there to pick up Joseph, and he will be reunited with his family for the first time in 3 months!  Soooooooooooo much excitement!!!

Jesus, Today in the Gospel we come ever closer and more personally close to your final hours and the coming of your suffering and death for us!  Hearing about the excruciating suffering of many in this world and knowing that you are a beggar for our love... may we, in our weak and sick state of being lost in the darkness of sin and death... break free from our chains which you have broken through the cross and come into the LIGHT!  LIGHT OF Christ/Lumen Christi is a lighthouse on the hill for all those around to come to see your Face in The Little Sisters, Little Brothers, The Tabernacle, The Word, The Saints all around, The Mother of God always there with her arms open in LOVE!  Such a holy place as each day they contemplate your LOVE, Mercy, Word, The Psalms - all 150 of them each week, Mass and Adoration each day!  Our daughter is so blessed and filled with her Spouse, Jesus Christ!  We are lifted up in her prayers and benefit from her Family of the Lamb!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen

Such an example of looking to Jesus as her ALL!!!
“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day. It is a choice based on the knowledge that we belong to God and have fo...und in God our refuge and our safety and that nothing, not even death, can take God away from us. Joy is the experience of knowing that you are unconditionally loved and that nothing-sickness, failure, emotional distress, oppression, war, or even death-can take that love away....”
Henri Nouwen
Yes, JOY has happened to us!  Such a precious little one!
Working on Easter last year.. they had only been in their new home just 2 days here on Easter Sunday last year as we had just moved on Good Friday!
