"A Mother's sorrow that obliged her to speak." St JPII about Fatima... 100th anniversary!

I might have to start with this for a very long time!  All of us with my adding of the only one missing.. Captain Joseph.  This was captured at the only moment possible... after sharing the 4th Sunday of Easter at our home parish. I am eternally grateful that all were good about cooperating with their crazy grandma, wife, mother... me.  The men were heading out to plant the fields and had cows and calves, pigs and chickens waiting for them at the farm, but they took a moment to give me the only mother's Day wish I truly have... to record all of us together for even this fleeting moment!

We are now literally scattered to the corners of the world, with Hallel now back in Rome, and Nancy and Bill in KC the next day, and Maria flying to Virginia to join her husband with the 5 kids the day after.   Some of us are gathering for about 36 hours starting on Sunday night when Maria and family come through for 2 overnights, Little Dave's first Communion on Monday night mass at 5:15p and his Wisconsin grandparents will join us for that and will get a final farewell to their son and his family before they head off the Washington State.
An under the weather, Hallel, in the seat next to me on Monday morning as we headed down the highway to Lumen Christi/Light of Christ in Kansas City... I looked over and was touched by her rosary in the sunlight and found it most wonderful to come across this morning.  A mother's day gift that goes very deep!

Yes, I was just with my daughter in our new home along with all of our family minus only one of our 25!  Hallel got to meet and spend time getting to know all of her new nieces and nephews, and they were all here!  Ruth managed to have her baby girl, Joy, 5 weeks before Hallel came home for her home visit.  And Maria was here and not in Virginia or on her way to their new base in Tacoma, Washington.  There have been times in the past when they were too far away to try to come and see Susan/Hallel when she was in the States.  We all marveled at how perfectly the timing was for this 5 days at home, and the fact that Nancy and Bill live in Kansas City and could bring her home...  making our family complete!  Definitely Holy Spirit in charge!
John with his newest God daughter 2 weeks ago on her baptism day.  John is now up to 4 Godchildren, and two of the newest granddaughters are his to pray for and help in a special way on their journey of Faith.  He also is Godfather to a cousin's daughter, who just turned 2.

John and I were looking through his 120 pictures that are on his caring bridge site.  He needs to get pictures together for a promotional video he will be doing in Chicago in July.  He continues to ask the Lord for direction in his path, as he longs to share his story of healing and finding faith through brain cancer.  http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/johns-cancer-stories.html
He will have very recent family pictures to share if he wants now...
How I cherish this...  The wind beneath my wings for the next 4 years!

Being Mother's Day tomorrow and the 100 year anniversary of Fatima today... these words of StJPII are so powerful with the Truth they hold!
"The message of  Fatima  is an appeal to conversion.
In her motherly solicitude, the Blessed Virgin came here,
to  Fatima , to ask men not to offend God any more.
It was a mother's sorrow that obliged her to speak."
~ St John Paul II
John's Goddaughter, Josephine, Nancy's youngest a week ago...

So true that The Mother of God had to stand up for her Son... Pat just passed a group of ladies on the street saying the Rosary from our church.  Our Lady of Fatima asks us to say our rosary daily for peace and justice to reign in this world.  How she loves her Son and stands next to him in Heaven the Queen of heaven and earth!
Hallel with the 3 newest granddaughters... so wonderful that they got to spend time together and she got to know them along with us seeing them together for the first time!

Jesus, you told us today in the Gospel that we see The Father when we see you... your works in our lives are those of the Father, who dwells in you and The Holy Spirit is that love poured out upon us!  How we see your fingerprint upon us and know of your LOVE and Mercy.  May we in turn return that to those we encounter, most especially those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family.  We are filled with so much gratitude and long to find the time to pick up our beads and find that peace and joy welling up within us!  "Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death."  Amen and Hallelujah
My lilacs are now Ruth's lilacs and are much less due to the new shop.  How I love them and recall that Pat's mom sat under them a year ago in her wheelchair just shortly after we switched places.  Happy Mother's Day Mom Verly in heaven, and my mom now recovering from a broken wrist on Holy Saturday.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
