I had the delight of Nancy being here for Halloween last year and we got the little ones together - Ruth's theme was little red riding hood and Nancy had a Knight of the roundtable theme going on... Dominic did end up being a dragon, but we considered the lion costume! I love the lighting and costumes and little faces and activities!
Ruth has perfected the theme costumes - last year was Little Red Riding hood! This year it was The Old woman, who swallowed a fly, spider, bird, cat, dog, cow, horse, but the doctor saved her! There was a surprise this year with each grandma being The Old Lady - 5 all together!
2014 on the move!
Mom and dad didn't dress up last year
I too did themes, but more like we all dressed alike.
The big chief came in from harvest for a few minutes with the sqaw, papoose, and braves.
John wore that wig for quite a few years. The themes were out the window for the last two!
The 1991 snow storm - John was a MOG in his dad's shorts!
Ruth's shining year of the theme from The Wizard of Oz - she was scarecrow with a pumpkin - Luke in womb and he was born the next day - All Saints Day 2013!
The family from Oz!
Dorothy and toto... red shoes and all! Rose wore those shoes until they wouldn't fit anymore.
Amazing Tim man, Simon in 2013
Talk about amazing - David as a flying monkey!
Dad Paul is the cowardly lion! After the last 3 years of amazing themes - people wonder what will it be this year? So far almost 200 people have liked their Old Woman who swallowed a fly theme for this year!
2012 is farm theme with a dragon...
Grandma, just back from El Paso for a month with the birth of Patrick, is happy to be home for Halloween and grabs armloads of baby chicks! Rose was just 6 months old!
Ruth with baby chick, Rose Ida, 3 years ago.
Evidently I worked at the nursing home on Halloween in 2011. Ruth did not have a theme this year, so it was only up from here!
No longer walking these halls for me.
Just had to add this year in 1986... It was good that I took this at home because we only had the waistband with little stubs by the end of the night. My mother-in-law said today that we should have used green corn leaves... then we would have had to dress up for Halloween in July!So fun to get the little ones together last year, so I will end with quite a few of those...
Little bad wolf Luke
The two baby boys - Dominic and Luke
So fun to look back and to dream of the future as each year passes. So many wonderful memories of families having fun together and bringing JOY into our lives. Bless-bless, Barb
