The picture was pointed out by some friends as reminding them of a Verly girl. With 4 daughters and then John - dark and curly and fun describes my 4 girls!
I have been told by my kids that I get emotionally attached to my pictures, and I do see that I want to have family in them and to be able to tell a story, too!
Birdie found a yummy cookie and a soft pillow on the foutan couch.
A happy place!
So special to see the setting sun from the living room - Street light on Main street and the sunset in the West. Being right downtown is no joke even in Marshall, MN!
Area rug from a friend worked out perfectly - Pat with his "buddy" Tom and the setting sun.
We have plans to gather at John's tonight for a Halloween gathering and they will go trick or treating around their neighborhood right by the Catholic School.
So special to see the Church lit up at night - steeple and widows after mass. And the reflection of Paul and his Aunt and Uncle.
Talk about a special picture in so many ways!
Always have to take 3!
The picture in the dining room - could be a future one of our red haired Joy Jean.
The clock and the sink and the view of Rehkamps of old.
Joy showing me the lost sheep room complete with soft pillow and rug under your feet when you get out of bed. A milk can as the bedside table. Ruth with the vision and does the work!
There is so much in the mass readings today - one verse that especially spoke a personal note for me was the Psalm 131 today - I busy not myself with great things,
nor with things too sublime for me.
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.
Nay rather, I have stilled and quieted
my soul like a weaned child.
Like a weaned child on its mother's lap,
so is my soul within me.
R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace. Psalm 131
With 2 daughters nursing babies right now and having nursed all 5 of mine... this is such a picture of Truth! When Tom is with me for the day while Ruth is working hard - he sits in her lap and begs to nurse. "Only morning and night now", and I can see that he is content with eating and drinking on his own. He is close to being weaned and taking that step to maturity and peace.
I too am content with my sharing here to keep is small and the few that give me input of liking what I share and to continue is the wind beneath my wings. The motto of St Mother Teresa comes to mind - "I do small things with great love." I have no desire to have millions of downloads as Nancy's Catholic Sprouts does. Yet, her ministry is so important for families and children to learn the Catholic Faith and Truth! The Catholic Sprouts Podcast - Catholic Sprouts
Tom napping in grandpa's arms at the Prolife breakfast put on by Birthright yesterday. "Bobble head!"
After dark - The Parsonage sign through the front window.
Joy, Tom and kitty on a peaceful Sunday...
John 9 years ago in Jackson, MN as he just started a job as an Extention Agent there post brain cancer. It did not last very long. He is now on disability and cares for his children while his wife works and works at an after school program at the Catholic School.
Ever since he battled brain cancer 13 years ago - he fell in love with Our Lady in Lourdes and how we share her LOVE daily with rosary...
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: John's cancer stories
Spirit Juice video to share his story that continues now with wife and children!
My swim instructor shared that she will have "Catholic music" tomorrow as background as we do our aerobics on All Saints Day! LOVE
Salve Regina - Gregorian Chant - the Little Sisters and Brothers sing the first version and makes me weep for the beauty of it! One of these might be as John and the Seminarians sang it together in their chapel before going to be each night. John loved this time! A special picture of Rose 10 years ago! My dog Roger chccking on her, and big brother David looking to see if the cows have feed. "Grandpa needs to feed them." LOVE my personal farm memories with my family! That is how I so addicted to picrures - babies, baby animals and a hunky farmer husband, who is always doing something interesting and picturesque on the farm!
Jude and Birdie at Trunk or treat!Halloween 9 years ago in front of the picture window on the farm! Ruth had a theme of Little red Riding hood that year - I suggested that Joy be Little Red this year and Tom be the little bad wolf - time will tell.
Blessed Solanus is so important for us - A relic brought to pray over John was instrumental in his healing!
The meats team with coach, Sharon! Great Job!!!
7th place in the nation!
LOVE this!!! When I pray the litany of our 2 families at Adoration - over 250+ by name! I end my prayer with this prayer for all those that we love and call FAMILY!
Ruth found this and painted it for the welcoming place when you enter The Parsonage to stay in comfort in downtown Marshall, MN. Right across the street from the Catholic Church!
With our 5 year old redhead, Joy! A friend shared that she went to the open house - "Joy was welcoming people, and I said; 'Is your name Joy?' She looked very surprised that I would know her name." Yes, she is one of the few that actually reads what I share!
5 dozen cookies were very good!
A little spot in the yard for enjoying the nice weather. Yes, that is a fireplace contained. Ruth said that she and Tom were out there today - "An old squirrel acted like he would come right up to us. The squirrels in town are very tame and not shy." Adventures to be had wherever you are, we guess!
Give Thanks! Bobbi said that it looked very pretty when you walked by the alley and looked into the warm bright pretty inviting place Ruth and Paul have created with work and vision!
Black and white Joy was a perfect addition to this for grandma! Thanks Joy for being such a willing and happy model for grandma!
Now Ruth joins in matching black and white, too!
A picture of LIFE! Lord and Lady, how we pray that this wonderful home may be a place of happiness and peace and joy. A haven in times of loss and times of bringing families together in marriage and reunions and any other reason for coming to special Marshall, MN! Be with Ruth and Paul in this venture and use it to your honor and glory. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Such a beacon of LIGHT - my champion for LIFE and for Family! "Be not Afraid." Bless-bless, Barbara and the 54 - 34 with us and 20 in heaven.
Yes, from conception to natural death.
Jude came with dad and grandma had fun spoiling him - watching 101 dalmations in great-grandpa's chair and popcorn and grandpa pop with apple slices. Blanket to keep him warm, too!
LOVE this from my dear old dad today in his Prayer of The Church! I miss him, yet he continues to teach and bless me after bringing all 13 into The Church 50 years ago! Each day since has been total GIFT to me! LOVE you dad and I know you are praying for your family of 140+ as you did each Monday first and middle name of your 34 grands and now 60+ great grands! You amaze me!
Now from mom and Pope Benedict XVI! She read this for 10 years and I am on my 2nd time! So full of Knowledge of the Truth! LOVE you mom, and thanks for sharing ALL of the Truth with dad and I and now my domestic Church/family! So blessed!
O God beyond all praising - the best!!!
