Saturdays for Mary the Mother of God/need to be here rather than in KCK at the loss of a good neighbor

Joy and their new kitty from Granite Falls to the farm.  He is very demanding that he can be a house cat, but that is not going to happen Big Boy!
Picking the pumpins from the garden - we have tomatoes to do in a few days.  We found some jars from the Thrift store and it looks like we have pails of tomatoes to make into stewed and juice.
Our view today as we stand in Ruth's garden this afternoon.

So special - Fr Tanner Thooft in a combine.  Raised on the farm it is still in his blood to find JOY in farming when he can in the midst of his life as a baby priest.
The Meditation in The Magnificat today was everything to teach us the wonder of our Spiritual Mother, Mary the Mother of God.  "We cannot draw near to her without at the same time drawing close to her Son."
"Behold, your Mother."  Jesus to us at the foot of the Cross with Mary!  And we take her into our home and she blesses our domestic Chuch/family.
Ruth and Paul brought their family to the sudden death of our neighbor in a field accident.  He was a wonderful neighbor to our farm family and our family before that as we have lived across the road from them since 1987 - 35 years!
The kids were thrilled to see pictures of their home with our neighbor in front of it probably 50 years ago!  "That is our bedroom window, Joy!" said Rose to her younger sister.

I was to be in Kansas City with Hallel this weekend, but I just knew that I needed to be here with my farm family at this time of sudden loss of our neighbor of the last 35 years.  A very good neighbor!

As Ruth said - "This house went through 2 generations of our neighbor and now 2 generations of Verlys.  It is a special history that we share in this house and farm."  A tie that binds.  Lord, take Gary into your arms and welcome him into your heavenly Kingdom.
A beautiful afternoon on the porch that Ruth added to our big wonderful farmhouse.  Ruth had a vision for it to be better than ever, and the porch is the frosting on the cake!
The huge patio door reflecting the farmyard and always the cats waiting for table scraps!
The unique pearls on the plant in the front of her house in the landscaping.
Giving Joy a lesson on the names of the plants around their home.  "Hydrangeas. Cone flowers."
Heart shape rock and white gourds with Our Lady and an angel on this Saturday devoted to Mary.  Each Saturday is a special day for Mary!
Purple petunias too
9 years ago Nancy riding along with her dad on the last load of beans for the year.  We finished beans a week earlier this year, and tonight we are back combining corn.
Taking supper to hubby - he was on the top of the grain bin in the dark!!!!  Many prayers as I watched him with my heart in my throat!  Lord, protect our farmers that aren't that young anymore.
Praying and worried for him.  All I can do is trust
The things that he does amaze and worry me.

I love this!!!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara
