I am not exactly sure when I realized that my kids can lead me deeper into the True Faith, but I think it was about when the oldest 3 had each asked me to make a TEC retreat and I finally said "yes". My life was changed and prayer became very real and powerful! This was October of 1999, and now I am learning from them about making a marriage better, and serving our families and spouses/Most Cherished Cross without counting the cost!
Nancy and John on her wedding day. John had just fought his battle against brain cancer and beat it becoming the new John! His strength and new found faith came to him as he was surrounded by his family!
Family is hugely important to us, and Faith and family are so closely together... Faith/Family/Farm as farming is a life not merely a job.
Only missing Hallel and soon we will have 3 new members! Nancy, Maria and Bobbi are all due in March! WE love LIFE!
In France with Hallel just a month and a half ago! Hallel's "yes" has increased our family by hundreds! How we love our family of the Lamb!
A verse from Psalm 19 today is certainly a prayer I can welcome and ask of Jesus and the Spirit at work in my heart... In this day of enjoyment and pleasure wherever you can find it... these words from St James were convicting
"You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure;
you have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter."
When the entire world around us is telling us the lies of getting material things and wealth and power and climb the ladder and have the big house and less kids and more toys... we feel that we are justified to strive for these "things" and say "no" to the call of The Church to be open to LIFE and raise LIGHTS! We repeat this prayer asking for the Truth to be revealed to us... shining the LIGHT on all that is in the darkness!
"Cleanse me from my unknown faults!" Psalm 19 Unknown because the lies of the world infiltrate our fattened hearts ready for slaughter!
Hallel in the shape of the Cross during her final vows on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary to heaven/August 15th in France! Humility and Poverty and Chasity and Obedience are in all they do!
Wearing her Lamb on her heart... "I promise unto death!" The Virgin with her lamp lit - the Gospel comes to life!
It was hard not to give hugs today as I am sick with a cold, and not wishing to share that with others! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
Pat's huge hand holding the Lamb of Hallel and all those that have taken their final vows and it was cut from a branch section the outer ring is for her parents... "Wounded I will not cease to love" The motto they live by, and so important in marriages, families, work places, community and the world! To turn the other cheek and not to return harm for the hurt and harm we have received. It would be a different world and more marriages would make it through if we could follow this!
The 5 when Susan left for France 10 years ago! All married now! Two in the 40th year of our marriage!
A letter from our nun to her sister, Nancy, on the occasion of her engagement...
