5 year Anniversary of dad's passing in my Farm Monastery of PEACE/The Crop in harvested/Prolife breakfast after a bump in the road - +JMJ+
Tom is soon to be 4 on Nov 19th! He was with mom at the Parsonage and grandma had to take a few pictures with our wonderful Church and this stunning tree of many colors across the street - he was eating cookies hence the chocolate face..Right across from the Church!
The picture window view from inside gives me great JOY along with his beaming face for his old grandma! How I am blessed to have this sweet happy boy so much in my life! I live 3 miles from the farm where he lives with his mom and dad and 6 older siblings. Our farm family which is an answer to prayers.
First grader Jude, who was a very cute Titan!
Buddy Tom helping grandma pick up bales. The crop is out and the baler is now put away along with the combine. It feels good to have those big jobs behind us and everyone still safe and sane! Yes, the stress of harvest can make tempers flare, too. We got by pretty well this year. Tom and my cat, Neumann. "He likes me, and likes his soft tummy rubbed." Yes!
Hubby taking a video of his 200 cows on stalks at sunset. "I love it when they are all spread out." A pretty special sight for sure!
A sign that the corn is out and the cows like the ears first, then the husk and finally the leaves according to farmer Pat. My dad had a special writer that he called "my man Brother Victor." The 23rd of October was the Anniversary of my dad's death here in my home - as a sister-in-law called it our "farm Monastery". I found this writing about how "a Monastery is a home of peace". I would say that the 6 months my dad lived here it was all of that with our sharing his vocation of Permanent Deacon with morning and evening prayer and chaplet and rosary at 3p on my porch. So wonderful!
Truly a LIFE are these small images from the womb. It is so facinating that they were once that small in their mother's wombs.
Tom showing his big sister, Rose Again, his baby.
Babies in the womb - they should be protected from conception to natural death. Lord and Lady, hear our prayers!
6 year old Jude looking very dapper for Mass yesterday. A hand me down from a cousin. ST JPII forgiving the man that tried to asasinate him
A final load pose by Farmer Pat!LOVE my hour each week! It overlaps with my John and we share, pray and so much to be thankful for! John's miracle of healing and now wife and children - all miracles too!Spirit juice video tells the story!
Now a Saint JPII!
John and Lucy taking me home after a overnight stay in the hospital. A slight scare with a weak hand which is now better. Everything looked good, so a wake up call to be better in a few ways in my life.
Sweet Lucy brought some sunshine to a kind of scary time. John was very sweet and attentive to his old mom. He brought me a blizzard and we prayed evening prayer together. So sweet in so many ways!
In honor of harvest being done and Halloween in a few days - a throwback to 1986 with the 4 girls and myself in our corn stalk skirts - they were so fun to begin with but what a mess we made at every home we entered! We got home with just the waste band left! Susan had just turned one.

I live 3 miles from the farm where he lives with his mom and dad and 6 older siblings. Our farm family which is an answer to prayers. Harvest ended at the end of last week in time to get all the hundreds of corn stalk bales home. Pat unloads in the yard in a fortress protecting the cattle from wind. Paul loads us in the field so it is a constant flow from field to yard. I drive a pickup with a rack that holds 6 with one in the pickup back. Tom rides along with me as mom is in a tractor.
David with a big load behind the one ton work truck and a new wagon. It was Missoula Children's Theater last week - Rose and Joy had parts as did...First grader Jude, who was a very cute Titan!

I have a circle in my home and dad would walk around it to get some exercise . He went on Prairie Home Hospice the day he arrived and felt so loved and special to have a nurse visit weekly, an aide to give him showers, another nurse to do his feet and nails.... everything he needed they made sure it was done for him.
Our bedroom was perfect for him! He was back into the bed he and mom had years ago when they got married for many years. He could shut the doors and have privacy and quiet when my house would fill up with kids and grandkids!
Prayer on the porch in the early spring when he arrived in mid April. He watched and entire growing season from my porch!
I have covid to thank for my wonderful father coming to live with me for the last 6 months of his life! He was alert all the time!
Dad's statues from Manistique, MI where he was a permanent Deacon for 11 years! They now grace my home and fill me with great happiness and humility.
The farm family with dad - he never met Tom, who is his namesake - Thomas Robert. He got to see all my kids and grandkids - 4 have arrived since he and mom passed in 2020.
Even Hallel came to the farm for a home visit while my dad was here! They hadn't seen each other for 12 years since Hallel left for France. They shared prayer - dad loved to hear her sing the Angelus, and Salve Regina/Hail Holy Queen.
Such a sweet reunion before my dad passed he got to spend time with his granddaughter, who is a religious sister. They both have embraced religious life and were able to share their JOY! I was so happy and excited for them and me!
Dad anointed by Fr Denny just a week before he passed! How we both love our wonderful Catholic Church! My parents and felt only love and devotion to all that The Church gives to us! My dad brought our family of 13 into The Catholic Church 54 years ago and every day since has been a pearl of great price for me!
My dad serving on the altar in Colman, SD where he was a Deacon for 3 years before moving to Michigan! A picture of heaven to me!
My 8 year old Joy has certainly become my helper in many ways! She visited my ladies in the NH over the summer. She also helped set up and work at the Prolife breakfast this past weekend. An armload of dolls that decorated the tables.Truly a LIFE are these small images from the womb. It is so facinating that they were once that small in their mother's wombs.

Lord, how I love you and thank you for our life on the farm. It was a wonderful year of bounty thanks to all the rain - hubby's famous words - "Rain makes grain!" We are grateful that all are safe and sane. May our Farm Monastery continue to be one of peace! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb and the 33 here and 13 in heaven.
