The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
My pictures are loading slowly so I am using some from yesterday... We have a cool rainy day today, and we have already been out for a fossil hunt with 3 hunters - Gus for the first time!
It was great to see the Gospel for today was the Matthew version of Jesus calming the storm! As St Francis De Sales puts it so beautifully - "He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations." Life can be challenging, but he is all merciful and loving and walks with us carrying our Cross!
These two are great friends..
The two girls are having a great time together, too. Water gun duel!
Luke snuggle time on grandpa's shoulder in the sunshine on a glorious day!
Warm hugs are always special and needed on this journey with the little ones we have been put in charge of to raise as LIGHTS!
The Psalm from mass today - #26 Search me, O Lord, and try me; test my soul and my heart. For your mercy is before my eyes, and I walk in your truth. How important is this truth in this age of so much confusion and falsehood? It baffles and saddens me to see so many that are misled by the same sex marriage.. what would have been appalling 50 years ago is now accepted and celebrated. How did we get so off track and confused about The Truth? Lord, show us your Mercy and The Truth to live by!
A picture of the wave of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT in our midst here in our small slice of heaven.
The two one year olds on grandma's lap - so wonderful to see them getting to know each other and have some fun together.
Jesus, we are yours and we thank you for your Mercy and unconditional love for us. May we return that to all those we love and are given to raise as LIGHTS! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
The weather could not have been better and we gathered throughout the day... the last to arrive Nancy and Bill with their 3 midafternoon! The sky swing is a hit!
Pat and John put up the tire swing... John makes sure that it can hold the weight!
filling up with the 8 grandkids for this year - missing Maria and her 4!
Mealtime is a big family fun event!
Burgers on the grill!
We have to run the dishwasher with every meal! Love to have us all together and it seems to work out that one of the girls makes the meal and then we clean up. Team work!
Art time with David...
and Mary!
So fun to be here painting again! I told Mary that I have loved doing this with her since she was 2 years old!
David watching Paul do some sketching! It is so good to relax and get away from all the craziness.
Heading to the beach on the most amazing day ever on the inland Sea - Lake Michigan! From Maria's blog today - her 4 in a boat that dad helped them make out of boxes!
Grandpa with a lap full of little 1 year old boys!
Such great times!
A lot of LIFE makes us happy and filled with wonder and awe!
I will leave it at this, because the internet is loading my pictures slowly - that is enough to share the wonderful day we have had as Michigan #1! Bless-bless, Barb
Luke and grandma stand in the water and Luke says "bubbles" and jumps in the waves as they come up to us. Pat, John and I drove all night to get here, so it was so amazing to wake up at 11a and walk out to the beach and have my feet in the waters of the Big Lake to give me energy and JOY! To have Luke's small hand holding my fingers...
Looking up to see David and Mary out enjoying the water which is so high this year. Each year is unto it's own with what mother nature has for us.
Luke and grandma's feet are in Lake Michigan, and there is sand under our feet - Michigan sugar sand!!!!
Luke with a daisy for mom!
Lord, thank you for safe travels - now for Nancy and her family to arrive this afternoon! Give us happy and healthy times here for our Faith/Family/Michigan time together. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb
I always want the lake in the background- the sound and smell and coolness... I am in heaven!
The 25+ priests gathered around the coffin of Fr Paul over a week ago. This is during the mass and this is where we can reach out and touch HIM today. We must always pray for priests... imaging how they are being attacked to end the bringing of LIFE into the world!
Such a powerful Gospel today of healing!!! Mark 5:21-34 is absolutely to best! Jesus, is touched from behind by the woman who had been hemorrhaging for 12 years..."If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured." Such Faith out of desperation and suffering, and an answer to her prayer - healed!
I have witnessed this a few years back in the church on campus at St Paul Seminary! Susan invited me up to here her give a short reflection on how much she loves Jesus in His Eucharist as a gathering of Cora Jesu/Heart of Jesus was beginning. Her sharing led into the procession forward of Jesus in the monstrance to praise and worship singing that continued throughout. In the wings were many priests to hear confessions/reconciliations/healings by our all merciful Lord, who loves us unconditionally! There was a scarf around the base of the monstrance, so that those present could come forward and touch the hem of his garment as they asked in Faith for that same healing, which continues to this day! Since in Adoration at retreats this has been carried forward... such a deeply personal touch with Jesus!
How I pray every day for young and old to consider a call to the priesthood and religious life. So beautiful to see the shining smiles of true happiness, joy and peace of those that LOVE our Lord and are touched by him and raised from the dead much like the little 12 year old girl in the Gospel today! I love to hear the stories of many of the Little Sisters, who were dead to their faith and were converted and called by Jesus and His Bride, The Church! They have found LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
Priests, Sisters and those that give them honor.
Jesus, I need you this day. Jesus, I trust in you this day. Jesus, heal me this day. Amen and Hallelujah
He touches me so very deeply... a river of peace pours through me and I find an answer to my pleas - Jesus and Mary, I love you. Save souls! Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Filled with the LIGHT of Truth, following after him - the Way, and gaining LIFE eternal!
The heart puddle was such a gift to me - Mary, my Mother is with me always!
