A week later - my dad is back home to mom and their regular routine. He now has a new part/bovine heart valve thanks to the advances of modern medicine making it possible for him to get a new heart valve at 90 years young! The nurses today were sharing their surprise to know that dad is such a young looking 90. He is a bit weak and battle weary... telling me on the way home that the vital signs at midnight waking him out of a deep sleep each night would ruin his night's sleep. He is behind on sleep and had issues to deal with over the last week that we now are going to work on getting him mended, rested and back to the new normal!
Together again at last!
Heart melting to be there for their loving greeting one to the other... as dad told his 24 year old nurse today - "We have been together for 64 years." Wow! That's something to toot your horn about in this day and age!
Fed his sandwich, apple and banana bread, looking at the mail and his folders full of "too much" information... he has heat on the inflammation on his arm where the IV was and up on his heart pillow. Rest and heal dearest dad.
Beautiful picture of contentment and home to heal in the loving arms of his family. Such a sweet small smile on his face.
The rosary filled my trip up with wonderful Prayer without end! The scenery was subdued and filled with the waters from much wonderful rain!
Flowers along the ditches adorned my travel...
Well watered and growing with warmth - the crops! Thank you, Jesus, for my parents and bringing them back together. Bless-bless, Barb
