The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
"Growing up in a largish family, there have basically always been plenty of kids at just about everything: weddings, funerals, parties of all sorts, and yes, even Mass. My family knows how to play “pass the baby” across up to five pews without ever dropping said precious bundle. We have all spent many a homily allowing a niece or nephew, son or daughter, or cousin, to chew on our Scapulars just to keep him or her quiet. More than once, we have each had to escort a toddler on the verge of a tantrum to the vestibule to avoid disrupting the Consecration."
I came across this great sharing on this blog this morning - http://truthandcharity.net/want-to-be-more-attentive-at-mass/... this picture was there too, and although I know not who to give the credit for it... I just had to share it also
So beautiful to share our mass time with a large family around us! My husband always tries very hard to have his arms full of babies or even the older ones are beckoned to come and sit by him or on his lap to share the JOY of coming to Jesus in His Word and His Body and Blood, and in all those around us - The Church Community!
A very cherished picture taken by Nancy this spring after mass, and only she could get him to pose and smile - thank you, Nancy, for capturing a common sight of Patrick holding lovingly the little ones through out mass/shared as a Family sharing our Faith with great LOVE and JOY! This is something that Patrick has instilled and lived out our entire marriage - we attend mass together and bring all the little ones from the first week of life to mass and sit up close to take it all in in all its wonder and Glory! What has been the result? We now share our Faith as an extended family and mass is the highlight of our week and the more family we can share it with the better - by far!
I also found this beauty on Nancy's picture on Good Friday... We do embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
It is a busy day around here - getting some heifers home from a far away pasture - we had the delight of having a couple brief videos from our filming with the department of Ag about 6 weeks ago come to us via facebook... I will try to share at least the link here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWlUHX03Td0&sns=fb This is the lesson on cattle for an urban school. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXJD5AbZ8mc This one is the intro one and is very well done and very short.
We share mass with this wonderful family member - Pat's wonderful mother! Our shared time together could not be any more complete or wonderful!
I read somewhere not that long ago that we pass on our Faith by sharing it with great JOY and that is a proven fact with our family! What a blessing to share as one in our total and absolute love for Jesus and his amazing Bride, The Church! It is a small slice of heaven here on earth.
Hallel home for her home visit about a year and a half ago... Sharing Family/Faith/Farm is the best of glues to hold us together as ONE!
Jesus today in the Gospel you reminded us that we are called to reach out to all those that are suffering and share without hesitation the healing and the mercy we have been shown by YOU in our journey of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! May we give without counting the cost most especially to those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family. Thank you, for the small slice of heaven we encounter when we are filled with the fruits of the Spirit gained by sharing in your Way, your Truth and Your LIFE in The True Church! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah

I was overjoyed to find Ephesians 6 - the armor of God - as our first reading this morning. Reading it with John, of course, the shield of Faith really jumped out at us. Why? Knowing of his half-hearted prayer for Faith that brought him to find it through brain cancer 5 years ago. Why do I continually bring this up? Having John here with us - we see that this is first and foremost what is important to him - to share with great excitement the Faith he has found through brain cancer/healing/now where do you want me Lord? He has contacted all the parishes in our diocese with the invitation to have him come and share his story of finding The True Faith, and has spoken many times with another engagement lined up.

I have been recognizing that this was the time when John's brain cancer came growing back through the chemo and we were faced with whole brain radiation. Our family gathered to be around John at this most horrifying time. It was when our amazing Bishop LeVoir wrote us on our caring bridge site and reminded us that at times of great need and anxiety we should repeat this and hold it close to our hearts - "Jesus, I trust in you." How I have clung to that and found great comfort there on this bumpy road.
The sun came out!!!!
It is very good to read all the ways St Paul reminds us how to prepare to face that darkness of sin and death that is all around us... "Therefore put on the armor of God, that you may resist the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground. So stand fast with your loins girded in Truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
Augustine is to be a knight with his sword and shield, and then there is that little bad wolf there, too.
There is so much about the Gospel in this battle mentioned by St Paul to the Ephesians! Wow! Christ in His Word is so important in fighting off the darkness! How thrilling is that as we each day ponder Jesus in His Word! Going forth with great JOY into our lives and our domestic Church/homes! May I do better carrying it forth, O Lord!

Jesus, we are yearning to be better bearers of your Truth and your Gospel to the world around us. May we reveal your LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT to the world around us just by living and not even in what we say. May we not become lazy and complacent about the reality of evil around us and truly use The Amor of God to resist and fight the good fight! Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah
One year pictures of Luke - he will be one on Nov 1!

There are the chickens that are giving us eggs now - thanks, Ruth and kids! http://www.legatusmagazine.org/blessed-chiara-%E2%80%9Cluce%E2%80%9D-badano-1971-1990/ Blessed Chiara Luce Badano - her feast day was yesterday and she shows how the young can carry their Faith and LIGHT into this world! We can raise LIGHTS for the world!

http://catholicherald.com/stories/A-wife-is-a-gift-from-God-in-life-death,27448 After this song about the difficulties of many marriages facing the world/darkness/sin and death. Here is a very powerful article by a man, who lost his wife suddenly 3 months ago from a bee sting - she was allergic - it is so powerful to read his words of how she brought him to deeper Catholic Faith through LIFE and now through her death. Read and discover The Truth of the Cross!
