Four generations sharing at the wedding feast of the Lamb today! Here 2 year old Rose spends some special time with her great grandmother, Anna... they are separated by 93 years of LIFE, yet share all that really matters in this world - Faith and Family and for these two... the Farm!
The first reading from Isaiah this morning really spoke to me volumes - aware of the suffering of many surrounding us from mental illness to death of a spouse to broken marriages... It felt as though a heavy web of hurt and despair were all around us... to hear the Word come to LIFE - Christ assure us that He will destroy the web that is woven - tying us up in the stands of depression, brokenness, loss, lies of Satan telling us that we come before others in our lives.
"On this mountain he will destroy
the veil that veils all peoples,the web that is woven over all nations;
he will destroy death forever.
The Lord GOD will wipe away
the tears from every face;
the reproach of his people he will remove
from the whole earth; for the LORD has spoken.
On that day it will be said:
"Behold our God, to whom we looked to save us!
This is the LORD for whom we looked;
let us rejoice and be glad that he has saved us!"
For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain."
The promise from Isaiah 25!
Today Simon stayed after mass to learn how to be an altar server, he then came down to join us for caramel rolls, and then jumped up to help clear tables and wash dishes with his sister and brother. Learning to serve is a lesson that will serve him well in life! Giving without counting the cost would be a life-saver for marriages and relationships in domestic Church/families! Dying to self so that Christ can live would be a true way to destroy the web of lies that has been woven to catch us and lead us astray! Embracing the Cross in our lives is how we find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT - all we need do is look to the example Christ set for us and do as he asks - "Come, follow me, take up your cross and follow me!"
Out watching Pat checking the corn last night - Corn harvest will be slower as the corn is still wet and needs to be dried.
Jesus, thank you for inviting us to the wedding feast of the Lamb today, and giving us your LIFE giving Body and Blood! Yes, life is hard and challenging and The Cross is very evident, but may we work through the pain and suffering to see that You are there to help us all the way. That through these difficulties we can find the Truth through You and your Bride, The Church! May we come together to share your LOVE one with the other... giving without counting the cost. "Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE." The motto The Community of the Lamb live by. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah

As I write this today... I have a small purry kitten that climbed under my chin and is now asleep. My neck and heart are very very warm with being treated with so much love and specialness by a little creature of God. She is quite a bit of work, but has really worked her way into our heart around here. Pat will even pause to watch her antics and comment on them with a tone of appreciation in his voice!
What makes her so special is knowing that she went from terrified and spitting and scratching one day to loving and sweet the next... talk about a change of heart!
