"a curse for us..." is Jesus

I found this little pink sweatshirt in the front room - accidentally left behind, and it was like a little sweet hug...
A small purry furry creature/kitten is turning our household upside down!  It all started on Sunday, little 2 1/2 year old Rose came in the house saying "Kitty."  We were all sad and surprised to see in her hands a cream colored dead kitten.  The search was on!!!  The boys were up on the bales in the shed and soon found 3 kittens - scared and hungry.  It looks like they had lost their mother.  One was tame and soon was purring in the arms of the kids... he went over to join Ruth and Paul's mother cat, who has 4 kittens the same age.  The gray one was too wild and put back up on the bales, and they couldn't even catch the other one...
Berna wants her to be a princess kitten...
When Nancy and her little ones pulled on the yard on Monday we could see this tiny grey kitten down on the ground and crying and meowing loudly... she allowed Bernadette to pick her up and the rest is history!  We now have her living part of the time in a clothes basket and the rest of the time in one of our arms or shoulders or tummies or under our feet...  She purrs and rubs her whiskers on our faces and takes naps there as long as we will allow it.  She has melted our hearts, and both Pat and John we saying how different her coming to terms with getting over her fear and realizing that we would care for her... compared to the other one the boys finally caught a few days ago, but was so  scared that we put in out in the garage in a pail and then it was gone... probably dead.  "This kitten has become a special pet now, and that one is suffering or dead.  It could have been so different."
Reminds me of one of those kitten in a basket calendars!  Yes, my house looks like babies and kids are here a lot!  But isn't that the best... I can think of no better background for this picture!

Lately I have been filled with great emotion reading of those that have chosen LIFE on Nancy's blog - http://www.dosmallthingswithlove.com/, and also some stories of couples that discover their babies will only live a short time outside the womb and rather than end the pregnancy - they celebrate their child's life there and for the brief time they have them in their arms after birth!  http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/Expectant-Parents-WIll-Soon-Welcome-Baby-Boy-Not-Expected-to-Survive-Birth-Shane-Prayers--278250401.html?_osource=SocialFlowFB_NYBrand  This was so beautiful to read and of course the tears were rivers!
" Shane spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally and I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful life [than] that... he is home now with the Lord and will forever be our little miracle."  the family posted on FB   It was also shared that he was baptized into the Catholic faith in the 4 hours he was alive!
http://www.godvine.com/This-Couple-Is-Shopping-For-Caskets-Wait-Until-You-fb-gv--2401.html  Another story to watch of a couple that rejected abortion and celebrated their baby's LIFE!
The outpouring after a 29 year old with a brain tumor - choosing to have the option to end her life with a suicide pill taken if she so chooses to not suffer of have her family watch her suffer... another mother dying with 4 small children answers this with her reminder that this life is a gift and we are to trust in Jesus as to when it should end - not taking that into our own hands...  http://www.aholyexperience.com/2014/10/dear-brittany-why-we-dont-have-to-be-so-afraid-of-dying-suffering-that-we-choose-suicide/  And more specially that through our suffering we find true happiness - as through the Cross we take up and follow after Jesus to find everlasting LIFE/The Kingdom of God... dying to self so that The Spirit can live in us and guide us in right directions!  As St Paul in Galations in the first reading tells us that we can only find salvation through our Faith in Jesus Christ... he became "a curse" for us by hanging on the tree/Cross, but it doesn't end there - He then tells us to take up our Most Cherished Cross and follow after him!
So much of all ties to my daily reminders of my treasures in Heaven... my 7 there pray for me and remind me of how much work I want and need to put into each day of my journey down the narrow path to join them and Jesus and my other loved ones that I pray are there or working towards The Kingdom of God!

Jesus, I pray that the lies of Satan telling the world that suffering is to be run from, and that we are deserving of life being all sweetness and light... I pray that some of these stories shared will bring them to the Truth!  As one woman wrote - she will not have genetic testing done to her baby in the womb, because no matter what she will give her baby life and celebrate each moment/gift she is given with her new LIFE!  Please end the horror of abortion and the killing of the most innocent of lives!  May the darkness of sin and death give way to the LIGHT of LIFE!  May we die to self so that You may live in us, and give us the strength to say "no' to our selfishness and desires of the flesh.  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Hallelujah
I thought you would enjoy this perspective... It used to be just me taking pictures, but now my two oldest girls have these beautiful cameras and aren't afraid to push me aside and use them!  Their pictures are amazing too!
Bless-bless, Barbara Luke

"It was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured.  While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed."  Isaiah 53: 4-5
The photo story of a great day!
