2 1/2 year old Rose and our new house kitten find great joy - at least Rose does - dancing together! Yesterday at nap time while I read to Rose - she and kitten danced. Reminding me of the words in the first reading from Ephesians 4 today - "living the truth in love..."
The kitten doesn't look too sure about this, but that only makes Rose more determined and her smile bigger!
Pat and I often say how amazing it is to have The Community of the Lamb in our lives - their example of loving all and without judgment fills us with wonder and we feel that we learn at their feet the message of Christ and now Pope Francis to be merciful and forgiving to all - most especially the sick as they are the ones that need the Great Physician!
A lift!
In contrast we know those that see the sinners and those that have turned away from the Church's teachings, and they are angry and righteous in the face of the big mess that many of us find ourselves in. Yes, we need to totally embrace the teachings of the Church as Truth, yet we need to remember that we too are sinners and live the Truth as well as we can- yet reach out to those that are misled and in the darkness of sin and death.
Pat reminded me the other day of the woman who wrote the book called Unplanned... she was high up in the Planned Parenthood organization and was in charge of recruiting women for abortions. As she was watching one done one day - she had her eyes opened and realized that it was truly taking lives of innocents. Who did she go to first? Not those with hate and anger carrying the brutal signs of the aborted babies - but the ones that had been standing there in love praying for them and reaching out to them on the border line.
Rose reading to Luke and her puppy and baby kitty is there somewhere too!
We must reach out in prayer and love and return the mercy we have been shown! It is hard to do, but Pat and I have the example of our daughter, little Sister Hallel, and her community to look to!
"Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE" is the motto they live by! The Lamb embodies this for us to see and pray that we too can give in this way without counting the cost!
Jesus, hear our prayers this day and forward. May we show the Mercy we have been shown. amen and Hallelujah
Luke climbed on this all by himself - he was so happy and proud!
