"her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love."Luke 7 Simon is 14/Reconciliation/prayers in the hospital

Ruth shared this this morning after mass at the Catholic School... It is Simon's 14th birthday today and he did a reading at mass..."14 looks good on him." says his mom!  He is one lucky boy to be the oldest with 5 siblings, and all that will mean for him in his life to have many siblings to share his ups and downs.  Also he is blessed by having a Catholic School he can attend for this last year!  Mass each week and on Sunday with his family adds Faith to his daily journey!  I am going through that support, prayers and help with my 9 living siblings with my parents' issues.

It was special to have realize that Simon was in the Gospel today!  I just read to dad the name of the Pharisee, Simon, whose home Jesus was invited to supper and the sinful woman came in and washed his feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair!!!!  That was me today!  I was gifted with reconciliation before mass today!  So amazing!
My brother, Phil, heading out to the heart hospital yesterday.  We just prayed around dad's bed, and Phil was a big part of that prayer!  We are awaiting word about his angiogram scheduled for this morning!  I just got word that the angiogram won't happen until tomorrow...
Mom and dad sharing the ongoing story of getting dad back home... today doesn't look to be the day he will get out!

It has been quite the morning around here!  Mom and I went over for mass about 7a and I was able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before from Father!  I realize now that it has been about 6 months so I had some things weighing heavy.  Such a wonderful grace filled gift to be washed clean!  Receiving Jesus in Body and Blood was pure love pouring out upon me!  Why do I put it off???

The Gospel read the night before of the sinful woman... Jesus' words to Simon in the Gospel according to Luke;
"Do you see this woman?
When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet,
but she has bathed them with her tears
and wiped them with her hair.
You did not give me a kiss,
but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered.
You did not anoint my head with oil,
but she anointed my feet with ointment.
So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven;
hence, she has shown great love.
But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little."
He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."
The others at table said to themselves,
"Who is this who even forgives sins?"
But he said to the woman,
"Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

These words read by Father just a short time after Jesus through him forgave my sins!  Nothing more wonderful for sure!  The Gospel truly came to LIFE in me!
Mom and I returned in the rain from mass to find the house locked up!  I amazed myself by crawling through my bedroom window that I had opened during the night!  I had to use a chair off the porch, and I kept telling the Lord that he had to help me, and it truly felt like he gave me that push I needed to get through the window and land softly on my bed!  Thank you, Lord, and lots of people telling me that they can't really envision me being amble enough to do it.  My guardian angel gave me that push and was holding the chair so that it didn't fall over!
My dad with a blood pressure scare this morning... his room was abuzz with nurses, doctors, and social workers, and family.  So when dad, mom and I decided to lift up all the issues in prayer... it was as if an angel stood guarding the door and we had an island of peace to pray to his St Ignatius, St John the Evangelist, Blessed Solanus Casey, and the Korean martyrs from today... We all were amazed that we were left to pray without interruption!  Divine intervention indeed, and we know not what lies ahead for my parents, but we trust knowing that it is all in His hands!
Mom resting after our big morning at the hospital, lunch, and both the icons of St Ignatius, and St John the Evangelist looking on... in Spirit also!  I will take their relic of Blessed Solanus Casey up to dad later on today!  He said that laying it on his tube has stopped the bleeding in the past.  We love our Saint in the making, Solanus Casey from John's cancer days to now!
Mom's roses drenched in rain!!!  We have had over 4 inches on the farm according to my husband farmer!  Some water in the basement even...  Has the hurricane come ashore this far?

Jesus, how I long that all that unconditional love and forgiveness I have been given will pour forth from me in "great love!"  At the end of my act of contrition all I could say is;"Jesus, I love you!"  Yes, I am so grateful and overwhelmed by your love for this sinful mess of a weak woman that I am!  But I did crawl through that window!!!  That was with your help... of that I have no doubt!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb

Worth repeating this Truth and I am off to get my weapon/lifeline/beads!
5 years ago!!!  Simon and Hallel are very close as are their birthdays - just 2 days apart!  I just tried to call Hallel but she is out, so I will get to tell her happy birthday someday!  I did ask for their prayers for my dad, and that made the call so worth it!
