Soft and snuggly in a picture.
Our homemade tomato soup for lunch today. Perfect on a cold rainy windy day - yet the crop is coming out between rain drops today.
Tom with his apple...
Tom shared grandma's tomato soup, and liked it.
This is why we do the work!
Such a wonderful boy for grandma, and a good eater too! Tom and I took food to grandpa and were able to watch his dad and grandpa change bins with the auger. Fun to see the birch tree that Pat and I planted probably close to 40 years ago in front of our little house on Hwy 59 where we had our 4 girls. The house is long gone now, but that tree holds many warm memories of our nest years there.
Paul on top of the bin and Pat baking up the auger. Tom was very interested wathcing the men at work... mostly the tractor and long auger.
closer...
Just about there.Ton watching dad putting corn in the new bin.
Tom grabbed a sausage patty from grandpa's plate of eggs. With all the eggs we are getting from the chickens these days - it is good that both Tom and grandpa like eggs!
It seems like he has more teeth every day, and is such a good and happy eater.
"Grandpa we brought you some food!"
Helping grandpa with his eggs by the fist full.
I had to smile today as I was reading my prayers with Tom... As I was reading this special Psalm that my dad loved and highlighted for me... the Joy of my soul...And here is my sweet boy to show me in reality the JOY in my soul and heart and mind and spirit!
The first reading today from Galatians 5 there is so much! The first part St Paul points out the "works of the flesh" which make me examine myself and as Fr Denny pointe out the bad news from the world around us also points out the evil in our midst and all around us... I prefer to focus on the fruits of the Spirit...
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, generosity,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh
with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. Galatians 5
As we are learning in the "School of the Cross"
At mass I looked down into the book holder in front of me and found this - I choose being at the foot of Cross with Mary, the Mother of Jesus. That is where she becomes my mother, and I bring her into my home and the Fruits of the Spirit dwell in me richly! Then being with her in the upper Room when the Holy Spirit comes upon us! Come Lord Jesus!Such a sweet sharing my dad's man, Brother Victor, today! LOVE how we can share in the monastic life with him. "Inner fabric of LIFE - we encounter Christ, the Source and Giver of LIFE!"
Oh my! Such a gift is he! A sign of new LIFE and JOY! Bless-bless, Barbara and all
