#3 - yes they were eating doughnut holes...
The best of Nancy's pictures of our photo shoot with my adopted kitty, Big Boy!
Nancy captured the backdrop of my wonderful Cottonwood tree with golden leaves blanketed on the ground behind them.
The bales are all in - all 700!!! We have a fortress wall to make our yard cozy and protected from the prairie winds and storms. Joy and Tom about half way down on a ledge where they could pose for grandma.
The wall goes on in both directions and then a fort of hundreds across the way. Bedding for the winter on the farm for the cows and calves. When calving start that warm dry bedding is so important for those newborn baby calves!
Tom sees grandpa loading the feed wagon to feed the cows and calves. Joy holding him so that he doesn't try to jump off to get to her beloved grandpa!
Here he comes, Tom!
So happy and excited!
"Hi Tom!!!"
Rose and Bernadette just done with feeding the goats come and pose for grandma - in a month they will both be 10!
Just because...
With her banner for her special day and with St JPII! He was our beloved Pope for the first 27 years of our marriage! We were married in 1978 just a few months before he became pope, and died on Nancy's birthday in 2005 - April 2, 2005. He was our hero for LIFE and for family and for marriage!
The first reading from mass today from Ephesians 4 - St Paul seems to be speaking the language of St JPII to us...And he gave some as Apostles, others as prophets,
others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry,
for building up the Body of Christ,
until we all attain to the unity of faith
and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood
to the extent of the full stature of Christ,
so that we may no longer be infants,
tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching
arising from human trickery,
from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming.
Rather, living the truth in love,
we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ,
from whom the whole Body,
joined and held together by every supporting ligament,
with the proper functioning of each part,
brings about the Body’s growth and builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4
The 7 military kids had ice cream cones to celebrate this very special feast day today! Looks like Maggie is sharing with Therese, or else it fell on the floor or is down her hatch.Love the life-size cross overhead and capturing my devotion for all Jesus did and does for me - I am nothing without him!
Went across the street to "the parsonage" an Airbnb... Ruth got rid of the frozen mums and replaced them with her many decrations for outdoors on the farm.
Cupboards are in! Notice the beautiful floor - they took off layers of linoleum and tar and worked so hard to make it a thing of beauty!
Subway tile and vintage cupboards with counter tops made from solid wood doors from the Restore!
Farm sink and new window to arrive on Tuesday! It is truly coming together.
11 month old Tom pulled the empty the full toilet paper roll trick as his mother, aunts, uncle and siblings before him. Find the end and put it on the back of the toilet to use now. All I can do is smile and feel like I have stepped back to my own nest years. I am one lucky grandma having a second chance to feel young again.
Bubble tub - Joy brought her swim suit and keeps it here on the doorknob of the bathroom for her next visit.
Joy and Tom running the circle together. He loves to learn and watch his big sister!
Grandma had to much fun doing Bernadette/French braids for Joy. After 4 girls in a row - I was known for being at the early 7:30 mass with 4 girls with ribbons in their hair, "and than you had that boy!" You could here a loud gasp when we walked into mass with that blue bundle for the first time!
Water color with Joy - she wanted, me to draw Tom, Joy and grandma with my 3 cats. Big Boy came in so she could make his spots.
A work in progress with some cat help (?)
This has taken me most of the day today, so I think I should call it quits for now. More has happened - Tom had his first tea party thanks to Joy and grandpa, who came home for lunch. Those little ones are a sure magnet for my baby loving champion for LIFE to come home and get some kid time! Pat played a video of St JPII singing Our Father, and Tom was filled with glee and JOY!
