Tom's Catholic heritage is from his Belgian side generations back - Pat's mom and dad. From my side, my father and mother brought all 13 of us into The Church 50 years ago! My husband's prayers for a Catholic wife I give much credit to this miraculous occurance! What an amazing gift each new day, and the entire basis upon which our domestic Church/family is based - upon the Rock/Jesus Christ and His Bride, The Catholic Church!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
Grandma in her prayer corner and Tom joins me with such a sweet smile for his old grandma. The prayers of children...
Busy checking out the cupboard in the bathroom while grandma is praying.
On my, he found the full length mirror behind the bedroom door to entertain himself with.
Reflecting on discovering so many new things all around him! Such a happy and sweet boy for his old grandma.
"Grandma was reading this book... it must be really good!" "It is Tom! It is Brother Victor, and your great-grandpa read his daily sharings."
How I Pray that you always love The Church and are blessed with all the many blessings that come with each new day in The Catholic Church! So much to learn and grow closer to Jesus!
Today is the Feast of wonderful St Francis of Assisi! I especially liked the words Brother Victor shared - a quote of St Francis ...
"The Lord touched my heart, and gave me the Cross to read." Not only did he have the stigmata to share with the Lord, but he lived the Gospel and hence shared in the suffering of Christ and "read the Cross" - "take up your Cross and follow me." Jesus to Francis and to us!Brother Victor today... dad underlined to show me the way!
PEACE! How we need that in our world!
I took along our family picture from our 44th wedding anniversary with the 34 as it is a special day for our granddaughter 6 year old Josephine Francis! There were flowers there for a funeral this morning, so...
Mary the mother of God today with our family and a sweet rose.
Happy Feast day , JoJo Francis!
The Saints are such a gift to us as we look to them as role models on this journey down the narrow path.Pat keeps saying that he thinks Tom will always have blond hair. Then he would really be looking like his great grandfather, too.
Such a great gift is this sweet boy to our family! The gift of new LIFE and healing for many. And to carry on my father's name is such a blessing to me! Thank you!
I will make sure that you know about this great namesake of yours Thomas Robert! He was a man of God, who listened to the Holy Spirit guide him in very important ways in his life and that of his family!
The first reading today from Galatians 1 really speaks to me of the special ways I have been touched personally by Jesus and "set apart" in such a real and powerful way!
"But when he, who from my mother’s womb had set me apart
and called me through his grace,
was pleased to reveal his Son to me..." Galatians 1
So many times in my life - I have felt that the Lord has touched me and led me to Church, husband, and the family for me. Pat and I thought we would have 12 children - not knowing that we would have 5 here and 7 in heaven. The Lord's ways are mysterious!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Our marriage stories - "The world needs LIGHTS!"
Today's meditation concerning St Francis - Flowers and JOY!
Learning about the world around him. Currently he is taking a nice nap in the bedroom and not in mischief.
Stopped by the house to see the wall of subway tile finished - "the plumber is coming tomorrow to put the farm sink in, and then we can start getting the cupboards in, and see it come together."
Struggling to get the electrician to come. Hard to be patient with all the different jobs that are depending one on the other.
Ruth has a vision for making something nice out of a basic mess!
Lord and Lady bless our family! Be especially with the farmers and keep them safe. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Sharing our Faith as a family is our greatest gift and JOY! Bless-bless, Barbara and the 54 - 34 with us and 20 in heaven keeping our eyes focused on joining our loved ones someday!
