Sr was principal of the Catholic School for our older children, and is responsible for Ruth going on a TEC retreat. "Just go, Ruth. It is good and you will be happy that you went." The rest is history - Together Encounter Christ was very important in the spiritual growth of our domestic Church/family!
I have been busy with this little guy... I found it fun to have him sit in his namesake's chair - my father, Deacon Robert Cross lived with me 2 years ago and brought his lift chair long. It is still here and was very useful last year when a cow took out Pat's shoulder. He could only sleep in the chair for weeks!
Thomas Robert playing with the controls and making the feet come up and the back go back.
The cat and Tom both want grandpa's left over cottage cheese.
Lunch on the porch yesterday on a beautiful day - Tom's blanket kept him warmNow playing in the water for the cats - constantly getting things up out of his reach.
Bath time to play and soak with his runny nose.
Visiting Mary the Mother of God after mass this morning.
The first reading from Ephesians 4 was such a powerful one which makes me ponder the armor we must use to protect ourselves from the wiles of the devil!
Brothers and sisters:
Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.
Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm
against the tactics of the Devil.
For our struggle is not with flesh and blood
but with the principalities, with the powers,
with the world rulers of this present darkness,
with the evil spirits in the heavens.
Therefore, put on the armor of God,
that you may be able to resist on the evil day
and, having done everything, to hold your ground.
So stand fast with your loins girded in truth,
clothed with righteousness as a breastplate,
and your feet shod in readiness for the Gospel of peace.
In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield,
to quench all the flaming arrows of the Evil One.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God. Ephesians 4
Such a warm feeling walking out of mass and seeing the Parsonage lit up and filled with LIFE and LIGHT! So warm and inviting on this dark rainy morning. I am so impressed by how Ruth and Paul have a vision and do the work to make it happen with great JOY!
Tom helping mom open and unroll the new mattresses. Things are getting fun and exciting!
This is comfy grandma!
Tom shared my breakfast after mass and water aerobics - grandma came to watch Tom and to see the openning of many boxes and the beginning of putting together the beds!
Now the beds come out of their boxes, and the assembly begins!
Mom putting the puzzle together.
Learning at the feet of mommy - "I can do all things through God, who strengthens me."
Another bedroom - one of 4 upstairs with a bathroom.
This picture taken through the new picture window!!! It is a beautiful dream to have this framing our wonderful beautiful Church!
A new window going into the dining room.
Posing in front of new picture window and the view behind them - Holy Redeemer Church!
LOVE this view of standing in the blue doorway on the steps coming into the house. Such a specail place and fake plans for a pretty front porch on it some day for wedding pictures and enjoyment all around. Ruth loves her porches!
Fall decor with the new window making such a difference! We are at the 10 year anniversary of grandson, Patrick, coming home from NICU after being born dead on October 9th and brought back to life again. I traveled with him from the military hospital to NICU in downtown El Paso. I baptized him as we walked in and he got better every day! 17 days in NICU! He is the picture of health to this day!
10 years ago - a photo shoot just before grandma returned home after being on base for a month in El Paso!
I am able to blog now as this little sweetie is taking a nap! This is the desk chair next to mine and I was spinning him and he was giggling. I could not get one word written here, but he sure is the sweetest!
