This beautiful statue has always been loved by me over the 47 years that I have lived here in Marshall! She fills me with so much peace and JOY!
Hear our prayers! With her free will she chose not to sin and stay pure!
Mass today at the nursing home - my friend Marie, who I have visited now for many years beginning taking meals on wheels to her home in Balaton. Now visiting her in the nursing home and sharing mass on Mondays.
My special friend Fr Denny - so important to me after making my first TEC retreat October of 1999, and working most of them since!
This is so true and what we have always followed in our marriage! We would never split up our going to church but always worship as a family even with a newborn. It is glorious and beautiful to share mass with from little to older each week!
John and youngest - almost 3 year old Lucy Marie joined me for the Holy Day of Obligation Mass at the nursing home! We had a very nice visit with Marie in her room after and little Lucy was very good little girl.
She has always gone to Mass and is very comfortable there!
Sweet little girl in the nursing home. Her big cousin Joy would come with me each week during the summer and visit Marie and her sister, Margaret. It is so good for them to share their JOY with those towards the ends of their long lives.
About 2 years apart I carried 2 boys in my womb for 5 months! I went in for my 20 week check up and there was no heart beat twice! I experienced a 20 week abortion procedure - Prostaglandin suppository to help me deliver Robert as I had a very scary miscarriage, where I almost bled to death some years before. Sweet little girl in the nursing home. Her big cousin Joy would come with me each week during the summer and visit Marie and her sister, Margaret. It is so good for them to share their JOY with those towards the ends of their long lives.
On this day 36 years ago I delivered my first son, William. There was no heartbeat at my 20 week checkup and the ultrasound revealed that he had died for some unknown reason in my womb. This was such a hard experience for us.
Last night as John and I prayed together during the overlap we have in our Adoration hours - his the last hour of Sunday and me the first hour of Monday. I mentioned that it would be Williams birth. It was very emotional and we were both in tears with warm hugs of gratitude!
John and I wept at all the life and suffering and loss we have shared by being open to life and raising LIGHTS! He really understands how big it is that he is here - not only that he has survived brain cancer 16 years ago, but just the fact that I did not say enough is enough and prevent more pregnancies when I had 2 losses between Susan and John. And he appreciates that someday he will meet all his brothers in heaven, and gives them credit for being there by his side to protect him as he staggers through life!
Pictures from Nancy as Augustine and Dominic serve at Mass at St Maximilian Kolbe School in Delano. We so love that our grandkids are getting wonderful Catholic education! All have been in Catholic School or will be when they are old enough. And Maria does Catholic Homeschool!
Heaven comes down to earth! So beautiful - Fr Kyle only wants boys that are considering the priesthood serving on the altar! So important and how I pray for all my grandsons to consider that amazing calling from our Lord!
I made these years ago, and came across them recently to make the memories come rushing back!

Luke 1:38 today in the Gospel - the words of Mary to the Angel - Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
Gifts are so overrated! This is the greatest gift that gives us LIFE everlasting!
2nd Sunday of Advent - Joy with Riley.
13 years old Rose Again and her 4 year old brother, Tom. There are 2 between them and 2 older than Rose! 7 kids on the farm! Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!
Advent wreath and the Crucifix and some of the littles after Mass - 2 candles lit in the Advent wreath!.jpg)
Tom got grandma to put up the Christmas tree! May it be done to me according to your word."
Then the angel departed from her.
Because of her "yes" Jesus entered her Immaculate womb! God is now with us, and our salvation is here!
LOVE this - Mary is the tabernacle and Christ is the Eucharist! Gifts are so overrated! This is the greatest gift that gives us LIFE everlasting!

And a precious Nativity set that his mom gave me when she was in college about 25 years ago. The set was missing baby Jesus, so she made that and some other more personal pieces like our cat TomTom, her cow Carmel and a cow pie, along with a sheep for the shepherd!
Tom with TomTom the cat from 25 years ago...TomTom the kitten - they had 3 of the 5 fall kittens were orange and white, so we had to have a TomTom again now all these years later!
Tom and grandma by the Christmas tree! He is my little buddy!
Special sunrise with the white world. We are going to have a snowy winter this year. We are already making fake plans for tubing at Garvin Park as part of our family Christmas ending one Ruth's 46th Birthday - January 4th!
Joy and Tom picking eggs!
Years ago before our farm family moved on the farm! Snowy year about 10 years ago.
How I love The True Catholic Church! I have started to try to go on each First Saturday and get a clean slate to begin again! It really helps to lessen the amount of sin to confess. Thank you, dear Lord for the Sacraments that help me to stagger down the narrow path with Heaven forever as my goal. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb and the 33 and 13 in heaven keeping our eyes on getting there to be united with them!

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Patronal Feast day of the United States of America
December 8

Sing to the Lord a new song,
for He has done marvelous deeds. - Psalm 98:1
God chose Mary the Immaculate to be "a model of holiness" ... At Mary's conception, a new way of being human happens, and we are "chosen, destined" to share it. Adam and Eve were tricked by the serpent's "conception." The yes of Mary at the Annunciation, the culmination of the Immaculate Conception, undoes the disobedience of Eden and makes paradise a possibility once again for us. - From Magnificat, Vol 21, No 10, Dec 2019. www.magnificat.com
Lift your heart in joy and exalt Him Laud the glorious Conception
In the Blessed Sacrament all Holy, supernal Of the Queen in God's Kingdom

Where the Lord, His glory veiling, Who remaining Virgin stainless,
Comforts souls true and lowly. Bore for men the Word eternal.

Excerpt: Homily, St Patrick's Cathedral -
8 Dec 1996 - John Cardinal O'Connor...
8 Dec 1996 - John Cardinal O'Connor...
"Today is the date of the Immaculate Conception, the eighth of December...Mary was made immaculate, conceived without any trace of sin because she was going to be the co-creator of the humanity of Christ. She was going to be, as God the Father was the Creator, the re-creator of the human race with Christ. She was going to be the tabernacle in which Christ would be conceived.
We cannot now, of course, be conceived without original sin. But the more we can purify ourselves through the Sacrament of Penance, through our own penances, through trying to observe the Commandments and keeping close to Christ, then the more fitting we become as tabernacles of the Eucharist.
All of this requires an effort, perhaps for some an unaccustomed effort. St Augustine tells us the reward. He was still in process of conversion from a highly profligate, promiscuous life. Then he went into a Catholic community to worship in the Eucharistic sacrifice. He said to a Catholic friend:
"How I wept, deeply moved by your hymns, songs, and the voices that echoed through your Church! What emotion I experienced in them! Those sounds flowed through my ears, distilling the Truth in my heart. A feeling of devotion surged within me and the tears streamed down my face - tears that did me good."
May that be our experience in this Holy Sacrifice of the Mass."
Glorious things are spoken of you, O Mary,
for from you arose the sun of justice, Christ our God.
(Communion Antiphon - today's liturgy)

(Communion Antiphon - today's liturgy)

"To the maternal intercession of Mary,
the Virgin of expectation,
let us entrust our path toward the Lord,
while we continue our Advent itinerary
of making our heart and our life ready
for the coming of Emmanuel, God-with-us."
Pope Benedict XVI, 12/05/11, Noon Angelus
O chosen and fairest Virgin Mary, intercede for us!
Salve Regina - Hail Holy Queen - Nashville Dominicans -
our KCK nuns sing like this! Angelic!
