We were happy to get a much needed inch of rain in a short time, but are sad for our neighbors. One good thing is that all the damage seemed to happen to out buildings and trees and the houses looked untouched. Grateful for that at least!
Rose is soaking wet as we were all out in the storm trying to cover the round bales.
Our picking up bales came to a halt, and we were able to have some good conversation with our friend, Bridgette, who is a SPO Missionary in Kansas City and was here for a visit. We thank you, Lord for the rain we have been praying for, and for our friend, who is making a difference in this world of the young people caught in the cycle of selfishness, when you call us to give our all for Jesus!
My day started out in a unexpected and beautiful way. I had help picking beans from Breno, and we shared deeply about life and that we need to ask Jesus to show us the path he has laid out for us! "This life is not about you, but about what Jesus wants for you to do to make a difference." We also discussed how he needs to look into a annulment of his first marriage, so that he can have a wonderful Catholic marriage to give them the best start they can get with the Sacrament of Matrimony giving them the graces to face the Cross of embracing your most Cherished Cross and finding LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
Breno over to have his oil changed and he then jumped into the little seat next to Pat and helped pick up bales for a round.
It has taken on a whole new perspective to have that seat and a seatbelt next to Pat and watch what he does so skillfully right there next to him. So great!
Breno was filming Pat lifting the bales and putting them on the rack behind me.
Un loading the racks and building the pyramids of bales, which we later covered up in the rain.
Luke waiting to ride along with mom as we pick up bales with the new porch in the background. "It was such a beautiful morning that we had breakfast out on the porch." reported Ruth as this fabulous wind blew through the trees and was heavenly in the shaded porch this morning.
Using a puddle from watering the plants to wash his feet... mud puddles are a lot of fun on the farm!
Luke patting a kitten in his arms like he watches mom do with his baby sister, Joy!
I had to help with picking up bales today.
I always have to learn it all over again, and I am nervous, but it went OK, and we got lots of bales picked up ahead of the storm.
Breno, John and Pat watching the Twins together... this seemed familiar from when Breno lived with us for a year 17 years ago. I was telling Breno that he is very easy to have and he truly is a son to us in many ways after sharing a year of life on the farm with him. It certainly is wonderful to see the farm through his fresh and excited eyes, and it helps to remind us that life is good on our farm!
The rain came down hard and fast, and there was a tornado just a mile away!
Soaking wet and reflecting on the end of our bale hauling and much needed rain. Thank you, Lord, for protecting us and giving us this miracle rain for our crops and cattle.
A picture of "childlike" as she joyfully dances and celebrates the rain... the Gospel today reminds us to be open to what Jesus is trying to teach us and direct us as he is in control of our lives and in order to hear it and follow it... we need to give up our grown up all about me and die to self and "like a child" follow after Jesus. That definitely requires that we give up our own desires!
It was great to share a visit with Mary, as she met a missionary for the first time, and the next time we go to KC we will have a special friend to visit along with our amazing Community of the Lamb! Thanks, Bridgette for sharing your LIGHT with Mary and Breno and Renata and Pat... such a great opportunity to share how we change the world by introducing them to Jesus one person at a time! Come Holy Spirit! You have our total support in your great work!
Lots of family times around the farm!
A reflection picture in my old patio door after picking up bales today.
My head is spinning after such a big day filled with so much! Lots of opportunity to share deeply about Jesus and how much we need to give our all for him! Jesus, I trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb

Isn't it remarkable how the smallest parts of creation have the ability to reveal the wonder of God? All we need do is open our eyes and see.
Tractors lined up ready to go and pick up bales... a few hours later an inch of rain!!!
Beauty in the eyes of the beholder, and having our "Brazilian son" Breno here gives us fresh eyes to see how wonderful we are blessed!
