"Let the children come to me"... Mass as a family from day one!

Newborn Evangeline Mary less than a week old and barely out of NICU in St Louis due to some concerns about her breathing, in the first week of November 2016.  She was soon to be the healthiest baby in NICU and we got her home in time for her Baptism day!

Carrying forth the tradition and heart held family standard...that we have always worshiped as a family from when the kids were in their first week of life!  Yes, we would have to walk out with unruly or crying kids and stand at the back or nurse them on the steps going to the balcony, but we never kept the little ones from coming to Jesus!
Maria's 5 including year and a half Evangeline ready to wrestle their dad!  They will be coming this way in a few days and we are so excited for our family gathering around John and Bobbi celebrating their wedding with great JOY!

Maria's words:
"a classic rumble in the library.
The kids are getting pretty good. Dad actually gets tapped out once in awhile!"

Grandma can't wait to get her hands on this girl's hair!  So much like her mom and aunts before her!

Not only did we attend church as a family always, but we would sit towards the front and continue to do that with Ruth and Paul and their 6.  Our thinking is not to intrude on worship of those around us, but for the little ones to be able to see and understand the beauty and power of the sharing the Sacrament of Jesus in His Body and Blood and Word!

The words of Christ to us this day in the Gospel:
"Let the children come to me; do not prevent them,
for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Amen, I say to you,
whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child
will not enter it."
Then he embraced the children and blessed them,
placing his hands on them.  Mark 10:16
Rose Again... why?  Rose had heard her brothers and sisters names in church... Simon, Mary, David, Luke, and Joy... each hears their names in the readings and during the mass over the year often.  At the Easter Vigil about 3 years ago... 3 year old Rose was so excited to announce to her family that she heard her name at mass..."I heard my name!  Rose Again!"  Now whenever we repeat the creed at every mass we attend, Rose beams ear to ear and looks up at us.

Pat recently shared this with great JOY with his cousin, Rose!  She was tickled by this sweet story of a girl, who has attended mass with her family every week since she was a newborn and has a beautiful connection with Jesus and His Bride, The Church!
Rose loves her life on the farm and is a great helper!

The words of Christ today and his promise that if we bring our children unto him and don't hesitate to share our Faith with JOY!  He embraces them and blesses them with his plan for them, which is where they find true happiness and they feel and know his personal touch upon them!

I have always marveled at how the Lord has left his fingerprint on my life!  Over and over I have felt his touch and know that it was Jesus at work in my life and closing doors and opening windows and allowing my entire family of 13 to swim against the tide of all those leaving at Vatican 2 when we came into The Church and each day since has been a gift ever since!  I love, love, love The Church with my every fiber of my being!  And my greatest gift is sharing our Faith as a family united all 25, soon to be 26 of us in a week!
Pictures from Nancy sharing Pentecost with Hallel, The Community of the Lamb, and Archbishop Naumann!  I am over the moon with the strong voice for Truth that Archbishop is as the Bishop for LIFE!

From the article;
Naumann's election to the pro-life chair was the first time in 40 years the USCCB did not select a Cardinal to chair the position. Winning the vote by a majority of 96 to 82 (mysteriously, there were 34 absentees), Archbishop Naumann ascended to what is perhaps the most important position in the USCCB pertaining to pro-life causes.
For the past 50 years, American Catholic Bishops as a whole have shown trepidation in the face of denying stalwartly pro-abortion politicians the sacrament of Holy Communion in accordance with Canon Law. Naumann actually enforcing it shows he takes the evils of abortion seriously and will not cave to political correctness. Just last year, Naumann also ordered churches in his archdiocese to sever ties with the Girl Scouts over their relationship with Planned Parenthood
Come Holy Spirit with your Words of Truth and save your Church!  We are forever touched by your loving and forgiving hand as we go down the narrow path yearning to be forever with you in heaven with Jesus, Mary, the Saints and all those that have gone before us!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
A dessert procession with The Community!  Pat has a fake plan for the kids to do this with the dessert cupcakes at John and Bobbi's reception.  It would be wonderful way to include Hallel and our family of the Lamb with us, as we know they are with us in prayer and The Spirit even though they cannot join us physically!
Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
Towards the end of the day... our in the pasture with hubby and nice looking cows and calves.  Washed clean by the rains and loving the green grass!  They looked wonderful to our eyes!
Nice to spend some time together and see the fruits of the labors.... healthy happy animals enjoying a beautiful evening!  Nice cooling breezes and no bugs yet... the perfect time of year... today it will reach 95 again...

Another powerful article about how Archbishop Naumann is bravely proclaiming The Truth!

When “materialism reigns and brings utilitarianism,” society no longer acknowledges unalienable rights, he said. “The pursuit of pleasure becomes the highest goal...in the end, [pleasures] leave us more and more empty” and “suffering and death” become enemies.
It’s this mindset that causes people to view the severely disabled as more “vegetable” than people, he said, even though caring for them is “the noblest form of love.” This mindset also views babies in the womb as “too tiny to have rights but something very useful to destroy” in hopes of restoring youth “to those already born.”
Take the time to read the whole article... so good!

Unfortunately it looks like they passed for abortion in Ireland... so criminal and sad!

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

"You come to Church to be married, because you realize your marriage is not about you but God."

8 days!!!!  The Gospel today is about marriage as Christ tells us the Truth.  He says to us:
"from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.

So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate."

The reason John and Bobbi are uniting in the Sacrament of Matrimony in The Church is as Bishop Barron wrote;
When I was doing parish work I would invariably ask young couples, “Why do you want to get married in church?” Most would say something like, “Because we love each other.” But I would reply, “Well, that’s no reason to get married in church.”
They usually looked stunned, but I meant it. You come to church to be married before God and his people when you are convinced that your marriage is not, finally, about you; that it is about God and about serving God’s purposes; that it is, as much as the priesthood of a priest, a vocation, a sacred calling.
As John puts it often when we share prayer... "Sacrificial LOVE"
Such a wonderful dad to his 6 children!  Rose loves her daddy so much!

A great article today in response to the Gospel!
A father of 6 speaking of Sacrificial love which we are called upon most powerfully in our domestic church/family and our marriages!

Michael Hichborn writes in this article:
"In physical parenthood, married couples bring new lives into the world.  In spiritual parenthood, individuals bring souls to our Lord through prayer, sacrifice and witness to the Truth.  And because all of us are called to bear fruit in one of these two ways, we are likewise all called to be spouses … spouses to either a bride or groom or spouses to the Church and our Lord.

For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son … The love of the Trinity is Sacrifice, the Love of the Holy Family is Sacrifice, the love of all families is sacrifice, and the love of each of us is sacrifice.

The survival of the family, the glory of the family, the very life of the family relies entirely on the sacrificial love of husbands, wives, and children, for without sacrifice there is no love, there is no life, and there is no salvation."
Cows and calves out on the pasture in the lush grass is a wonderful sight to behold as we get an early start on the farm to beat the heat!  We are sending out our fat heifers and steers today in 3 semis.
In just a years' time these baby calves will be fat and ready for market.  Farming to feed the world is a daily job and quite amazing to be a part of.
Hazy bright sun... baby farm girl is  part of the beauty of the panoramic view from Ruth's wonderful porch!
Dad hard at work with grandpa, mom and even Rose Again helped get them on the trucks and on their way to Omaha!  Steaks on the grill!
Grass up to their waste makes a fun place to play for her older sibs... soon Joy will be in there playing too!  The cows will have their fill in a few days!
Loading the trucks for market.

The crew along with Pat after they are all loaded...

Lord, help our marriages to be life-giving as we are open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS for the world!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Last year you were a newborn baby girl and these calves were just born about then, too.  Their lives are much shorter than ours, and we must cherish and protect all LIFE!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

My hero for LIFE and family!  I know he is working hard now from Heaven!
Pray for Ireland today as citizens vote on whether or not to preserve a constitutional provision recognizing the personhood and rights of the unborn childhood.

Tremendous political pressure from celebrities and media have come to bear on the country, pushing for legalization of abortion.

Our Lady of Knock, pray for Ireland.

Kindergarten graduation for Rose Again! Fatima - "every breath becomes a prayer" Andrea Bocelli "every womb giving life... brings Mary among us"

Spicy Rose Again is the 9th one I have watched get her special Kindergarten graduation hat!  Her mom, Ruth, was the first over 30 years ago followed by her 4 sibs and now Ruth's oldest 4 with Luke and Joy to go!  We already know that older sister, Mary, will present Luke his hat, and Big Dave will be graduating 8th grade the year Joy will get her Kindergarten graduation hat, and pass into 1st grade.  Oh, the joy of having a big wonderful family and many siblings!

Her grandpa Pat and his 9 siblings all went to Holy Redeemer School, also, but I don't know if they had this tradition then and I was not there to witness it, either.  But our wonderful Catholic School runs deep with 4 generations including Pat's mother attending here!  How we love our Catholic School and how it lifts up our kids and grandkids to have a wonderful special faith centered start for their lives!
A special service celebrating Rose and her classmates.
The younger 3 as the older 3 were in class.  Rose's summer begins as she is now done with school and mom and dad brought her home.   She is a good farm girl and will be walking pigs, calves, and taking care of baby sister, Joy, and watching the baby kitties grow and grow and open their eyes to take in the new and exciting world!
Rose loves her daddy!  He is the best dad, and she is one lucky little girl!
Daddy gets her to smile sweetly with Our Lady peaking over her shoulder as she welcomes us into the chapel filled with her Son!

After having TEC retreats in this school and chapel the last 2 years... there was a stirring of my soul being there today.  I also had the powerful words of Andrea Bocelli filling me with such wonder and awe!

He recently sang at Fatima in part of the 100 year celebration and crawled on his knees praying The Rosary there as Nancy and Bill did about a month ago.
The text reads: “Every mother symbolizes her, every womb giving life incarnates her and brings her among us. Maria is the only path to reach our Father, she’s our heavenly mother, a mediator and comforter. Then, there are certain places, like the Santuário do Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima, where the air is filled with her presence, so much so that every breath becomes a prayer.”

I absolutely LOVE how he speaks about our bringing life into the world through our wombs brings her alive among us!  LIFE is truly a most cherished Gift that it to be protected no matter the cost!  Mary's "Yes" brought LIFE everlasting into the world!
A smile that lights up the world with her beauty and joy!

Rose always put Jesus first in your life and the way to do that is through Mary, His Mother of heaven and earth!  Her prayer/the Rosary is a prayer that fills you with Jesus as you follow his life and work and salvation for each one of us!  Yes, every breath becomes a prayer!  He will show you the path he has just for you, and it will give you the answers to all your prayers according to his timing.

Andrea Bocelli has come to love The Church through Mary!

Rose Again and her daddy!

The Gospel today from Mark 9...Jesus said to his disciples:
"Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink
because you belong to Christ,
amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward..."

There is nothing too small that you do for those we are called to serve and share our Faith with JOY with...  Being open to LIFE and raising them as LIGHTS is a tall order and calls us to die to self and serve without counting the cost.  We are called to do hard and thankless things... like offering many cups of water throughout our days of feeding, washing, cleaning, dressing, wiping up messes, wiping noses and bottoms, comforting when they hurt themselves or their feelings, cook, bake, clean up the meals, wash the pots and pans... For Ruth and I also plant gardens, weed, harvest, can for 6 families, mow lawn and soon for Ruth to watch for heat in the cows so that they can have their calves for next year!
Biggest brother, Simon, came down to share the party for Rose!  He will be leaving HRS in a year, and go off to the high school.  How can that be?

Lord, we are so happy for our ability to share in generations of passing on the faith.  May the upcoming wedding for John and Bobbi be a wonderful Faith/family/Farm occasion!   Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Rose comforting Luke... a picture of happy and sad.  We are called to comfort the down hearted...
I am so lifted up by John and Bobbi coming over last night to shampoo my carpets!  All I had to do was make them supper, which we enjoyed out on the porch in the midst of the work.  Today my carpets and "fresh" and my heart is lifted up by their generosity!  Thank you!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
We will blink and she will be graduating 8th grade!  Simon went so fast!

"The good God has told us that on the last day He "will wipe away all tears from our eyes", (Rev 21:4), and without doubt, the more tears to be dried, the greater will be the consolation."
