Palm weekend with our nun and others/Holy week 2025 - we are in the field!/"you were led to your crucifixion like a gentle lamb" - dad came 5 yrs! +JMJ+

Hallel with her Goddaughter and niece, Therese, and 2 friends she invited to meet our Community of the Lamb and our nun. This included 2 days and an overnight which began on Saturday afternoon at 3p with the blessing of the Palms that we used to lay before the King of Kings through the neighborhood, at Psalms, readings and Mass followed by Adoration that evening until 11p.
Hallel with her 2 nieces - Therese and her younger sister, Evangaline, who also took part in our beautiful and wonderful journey with Jesus through the OT with Abraham, Noah, and the prophets. We waved our palms at all that had to do with Our Lord's coming and redeeming us.  2 days of the Passion!
So many beautiful reflections and Scriptures and singing through it all!  We would lay down our palms only to pick them up again for another beautiful passage through time and the Truth that is the amazing plan for our Salvation!  
Jesus was there with us in Word and Eucharist and each other!

Prayer and dishes is how Hallel describes her life, and we always are allowed to share both with them.
An actual tree adding to the beauty of the Refectory where we share meals.  We ate in silence on Saturday evening between the walk through the neighborhood with Mass, and later Office ending with Adoration till 11p.  The girls made it through even 8 year old Evie!

Special to have a daughter/aunt to share her wonderful life with our children and grandchildren and their friends!  It was pointed out to us that we bring others along with us when we come to see them.  Truth!  We long to share with others the wonderful life it is to be a spouse of our Lord Jesus!  

The chapel was so stunningly beautiful!  Even a palm tree in the midst of palms and flowers everywhere! 
The blessing of the palms and they were used for the entire weekend to honor our Lord - truly the King of Kings!

In the heavenly refectory before breakfast and what a special one it was!  Evangeline walked outside and "I smell pancakes!" she exclaimed.  Yes, her grandpa made pancakes for all the little sisters, some young adults and us!  About 25 in total!  
So special that hubby could make pancakes for our daughter and her Community too!  
We arrived on base in Fort Riley at midnight on Friday, and grandpa was up to make pancakes for the family next morning!
Who knew that farmer Pat was a pancake pro!
How he loves to do this for our military family!  They love it too!

The 4 we brought along for the experience of the lifetime with our nun and her Community of the Lamb!  Today before the Gospel on this Spy Wednesday -  Hail to you, our King, obedient to the Father;
you were led to your crucifixion like a gentle lamb to the slaughter. 

I can see the palm branches waving!  
So taken with the humble beautiful surroundings - I try to capture it all!

My dad, Deacon Robert, came to live with me in my home 5 years ago today!  It was during Covid and mom had died in a day a month before.  Such a great gift to me to share in his religious life for 6 months in my "farm monastery".  during an entire growing season on the farm!

We are putting the crop in!  At this same time 5 years ago dad watched them work the field and plant it!

While we were in Kansas we were so happy to know that our farm family, John's family and Nancy's family from Delano had some fun together on the farm!

Bringing Jesus forward in the monstrance we laid our palms as he was brought forward to the altar!  So powerful!

Stella and Abigail!  It was truly a Palm weekend and not just a Mass with the Passion read - we went all the way back to the beginning and watched the Plan of our Salvation!  
The girls had so much amazing time witnessing the wonderful life of the sisters!

Amazing David is blind, and yet can do so much with joy and fearless perseverance! 
I need to end this as it has taken a life of it's own and I have been working on it for an hour and a half now!  I am ending with my dad as we prayed together at 3p on my porch every day and we shared morning and evening prayer of The Church each day too!  My dad being a permanent Deacon in The Catholic Church for 44 years - this was part of his life, and I was blessed to share it with him for the last 6 months of his life!  

He also was on hospice for that time and the same hospice I had worked for as a RN for 15 years!  Wow!  

Jesus, I am in awe of you!  May I die to self so that I may serve without counting the cost.  Jesus, I trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus 13 in heaven plus our Community of the Lamb!
