Baby chicks arrive on Easter Wednesday/Plans to go to Kansas with hubby/Jesus still heals, feeds, alive in the Word - +JMJ+

Tom meeting a sleepy baby chick as our egg layers arrived today just in the midst of The Octave of Easter.  Tom sure is lucky to have baby animals all around him.  Mom and Tom took a kid - baby goat and their 4 new baby kittens to school.  The Preschool class and Joy's Kindergarten classes.  "I got Tom out of the van, and said here is another baby farm animal."
10 years ago we had a blizzard snow storm now and Hallel was coming home for a home visit.  Bernadette was about 6 months and her sweet hand holding Hallel's Cross is a precious picture indeed.  When Hallel took her final vows in France with 24 of us attending - the cross was replaced with the Lamb indicating that she is fully professed.
Hallel meeting Bernadette 10 years ago on her home visit.

Hallel with the older girls including Bernadette, who is now 10 1/2, almost a year ago when Hallel came to the farm
With her 22 nieces and nephews - we have since added Lucy Marie on January 11th.  I am not sure when Hallel will be able to meet her.
The end of April 2022 was a home visit and we all gathered around her.  She was able to meet the 3 new babies all about 3 months apart.  Now Lucy has joined the babies!

Tom and grandma having a snack on the porth - windy bus so warm - the snow is shrinking and the grasas is greening.
Fr Denny preaching on the amazing readings this morning with teh Easter Candle lit beside him.  We also include the Gloria at these Easter Octave masses!  The first reading today was the one from Acts 3 where Peter and John heal the crippled man, and he went walking and leaping and praising God!

But Peter looked intently at him, as did John,
and said, “Look at us.”
He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold,
but what I do have I give you:
in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.”
Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up,
and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.
He leaped up, stood, and walked around,
and went into the temple with them,
walking and jumping and praising God.
When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
they recognized him as the one
who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple,
and they were filled with amazement and astonishment
at what had happened to him.  Acts 3

Walking and leaping and praising God!

Tom's first baby chick - mom teaching him how to be nice and gentle.
Soft and sweet
The Gospel today is out of this world - the road to Emmaus!  Fr Denny preached about how these men were blind to the fact that this was Jesus walking with them until he shared his presence in The Word and then broke the bread and shared it with them - His Body in the Eucharist!  Father challenged us to recognize how Jesus' Real Presence - how this makes our lives different?  It is a "treasure" above all others and The Church continues to give us Jesus in The Eucharist and in the Word.  We need The Church to recieve Jesus daily!

“People today want Christ without His Church.
They want the King without His Kingdom."

Timothy Cardinal Dolan
Archbishop of New York

“The disciples on the road to Emmaus so wanted to see Jesus, the One they came to know and love, the One who died on the cross.  And, yet, they did not even recognize Him as He approached and walked along with them.  It was only as He explained the Scriptures (Liturgy of the Word) and broke the Bread (Liturgy of the Eucharist) that their eyes were opened to recognize the Risen Christ.
My dear friends, the same two elements remain with us today – and they do so because of the Church!  Would we still have the Scriptures proclaimed to us today, or the Eucharist celebrated today, if it were not for the Church?  Just as Christ opened the eyes of his disciples, He comes to open our eyes to His living presence in our midst today.
So again, I say to you: Stay close to Christ.
Ask the Lord to strengthen your faith that you may recognize Him in the Sacred Scriptures and in the Eucharist.
I read a quote recently ... The quote is from the French writer, Francois Mauriac.  I believe it is quite relevant for us ...If you are friends with Christ, many others will warm themselves at your fire… On the day you no longer burn with love, many will die of the cold.’

Bishop Paul D Etienne

A smile for grandma.
Lots of peeping going on - 24 ISA Browns - they will be red chickens that will lay large brown eggs every day.  We might be bringing some with us to Kansas City in 3 days.  Yes, we are going to spend some time with our nun!  Pat has promised to bring turkey to open table at noon.  So we must get that done and be on the road no later than 5a on Saturday morning.
In their home until they get too big and that won't take very long.  No to keep the cats from having a snack.

Yes, within The Church we continue to be able to recognize Jesus with us in Word, and Body and Blood.  He continues to heal us as He did the cripple with the words of Peter and John!  "...in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, rise and walk.”  We have living proof with our son, John, who 14 years ago had brain cancer and is now living proof of prayer of hundreds, and the Sacraments of The Church do heal! Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: John's cancer stories  Also the healing we receive in the Confessional each time we recieve the Sacrament of Reconciliation!

LOVE this from Fr David!  Wow!  So true - come back to life with his unconditional LOVE and Forgiveness!

Last week, I heard 1167 Confessions. Do I care about numbers? Not really. Do I care about the salvation of souls? Oh yeah. That’s all I care about. And each confession was a soul that walked in with sin, then walked out a new creation.
1167 beautiful moments of grace, and the only witnesses were the angels… and me.
I wasn’t there when Jesus came back to life, but I saw 1167 people come back to life last week.
I love being a priest. Praise God. Happy Easter my family. FrDavid Michael Moses

John's Spirit Juice video - his journey continues with wife and now 3 little ones!

More from 10 years ago now when Hallel was here for a home visit- time with Pat's mother, Grandma Ann with John and Susan.  She died about 6 years ago now.
Hallel and Patrick playing in the water of the Baptismal font.  So powerful for me to witness as I baptized Patrick in NICU after he had been born dead and brought back to life after Maria ruptured during delivery of her 3rd child - she has had 4 since!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The story of little Lamb - grandson Patrick
Pope Benedict XVI today in the book mom left behind for me - she read it through 10 years and I am on my 3rd!

Jesus, we long to follow you down the narrow path carrying/dragging out Most Cherished Cross and finding LIFE eternal.  May we die to self and serve without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Recalling my siblings - oldest of 11!  We now number over 140+ - never too many!  Our love just grows more and more!  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 34 in my domestic Church/family
