Canning pictures for Shirley and her sister

90 quarts of Spaghetti sauce in Delano with Nancy's family. Pat and I are taking our canning on the road to share the work with some of our other families.  Ruth on the farm has the amazing garden, but now the work is shared in putting it up for the 6 families that we share with.  Sharing the work is only fair!
The crew working in Delano... the big square container holds 40 quarts and we bought it at an auction of the Catholic School supplies over 30 years ago.  We fill it to the brim regularly!
a;;.
Apples in Fort Lewis, Kansas.  Our military family with their 7 kids put many pails of apples through.  We had a big apple year, and not many went to waste. Maria also dehydrated them for snacking.
Another 90 quarts of applesauce - no sugar added!
In the midst of filling them, and processing.
16 year old Therese loving hers for dessert.  This is why we do the work!
5 year old Hector playing mass while we were canning.  So special!
Salsa at our place started the summer canning.
John with his youngest, Lucy, who just turned 2 - our youngest grandchild of 23!
Salsa testing with a house full of Nancy's and John's helping farmer grandpa, Pat!
7 year old Joy - the youngest farmgirl of 7 with one of the batches of applesauce we made this big apple year.
80 quarts of tomatoes and a pose for grandma. I sure had fun sharing with you our canning machine we have here.  My farm daughter remodeled the farmhouse she grew up in and put in a canning kitchen!  Canning is a fun day shared with family!  Thank you for the jars - they will be filled with lots of goodness and shared by 6 families including our nun in Kansas City!

Lots of family time - workers of all ages!
Our family last Thanksgiving
Salsa day about 11 years ago...
Tomato day...
Taste tasting the salsa
Lots of apple pie filling and pies for The Community of the Lamb in KCK.  Our nun, little sister Hallel!
My mother-in-law's recipe for Tomato Soup - she overheard it on the party line 100+  years ago!
Our 2 oldest Ruth and Nancy on canning day on the farm!
We even made applesauce with the little sisters with some apples they were given!

We froze this in gallon bags...
Our 5 - these babies are now all 12!  I had so much fun gathering these.  Sorry if I got a bit carried away!  Bless-bless, Barb
