4t of July parade day - on the 7th!

Tie dye Tshirts were the project yesterday for the 7 grandkids thinking that they would all wear them to the parade here in upper Michigan today.  So this was a photo op for grandma just before we headed out to get our place on the street.   Little Rose is sleeping through all the commotion, and Mary is wearing one of the rosaries that Therese and David made for all of their cousins.
Here is little T with 3 of her thankful cousins wearing their beautiful handmade rosaries made Therese and David!  Little Rose seems to know that she has been blessed with the most wonderful of gifts - the rosary is her link to our Lady - Rose was born on May 1st - the month of Mary, and her name is sharing the devotional prayer with Our Spiritual Mother - Mary Most Holy!

St Maria Goretti shows us the Way

The morning yesterday started with a watercolor class out on the deck overlooking the inland sea... little Augustine even joined in and made a keepsake for mom and dad after he had painted his hair and face - part of the beauty of the entire work of art!  Reminded today of the masterpiece we are by how Maria Goretti protected and honored her chapel/body made in His Image!
Just out of mass and Fr reminded us that the Truth is not respected of followed in our country.  That Blessed Teresa of Calcutta was asked to speak on poverty and surprised all those attending as she spoke of the poverty of our country - the spiritual poverty.  Fr shared that it has become even worse in the last 30 years - since her talk.
Such a masterpiece to my eyes!  The beauty of LIFE!  Thank you, Lord, for the ways that our eyes and hearts can feast on your Truth, and Life in all that surrounds us!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia

Psalm 31 "As for me, I trust in the Lord."

Therese meets her new cousin,Rose, for the first time!  They are happy to be in each other's arms after our trip to join the family on the shores of the inland sea, Lake Michigan!  WE headed in for mass on this feastday of St Thomas - the 26th anniversary of the death of my sister, Mary, and my son,Thomas!  It was not to be this morning in Mannistique, Mich... maybe we will have mass this evening.  Now the sun is burning through the clouds and we are called to FAMILY!
Brother Dave joins the holding time of little sister, Rose!  "You are my God, and I confess you; you are my God, and I exalt you; I will thank you, for you became my savior."  Psalm 118
Jesus, thank you  for loving us and showing us your face in all those around us.  May we find shelter in your wounds.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelluia

We're off with Love beneath our wings!

The little family arrived from Texas, and we wisked them to the farm for a quick overnight.  We are soon to be on the road to join the rest of the family in Michigan!  Jesus, give all those on the roads safe travels this day!  Jesus, we love you and trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia

"I will pour out water upon the thirsty ground, and streams upon the dry land; I will pour out my spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing upon your descendants.  They shall spring up amid the verdure  like poplars beside the flowing waters."

"God did not make death..." Wisdom 1

Such an amazing first reading at mass this morning!  I don't think that it is a familiar one, but super great!  "God did not make death, nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.  For he fashioned all things that have being; the creatures of the world are wholesome, and there is not a destructive drug among them nor any domain of the netherworld on earth, for justice is undying.  For God formed man to be imperishable; the image of his own nature he made him.  But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world, and they who belong to his company experience it."
Wisdom 1: 13-15, 2: 23-24
So powerful to think that we are HIS in our genes and every part of our miraculous body, mind and spirit!  We are truly yours OUR LOVING and Forgiving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!  Never may we be parted from you and your LIFE and LOVE!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia
Everyone is panting today in the heat - Jesus, keep all of your "wholesome creatures" safe and a cool place to be in this heat!  Give our crops the rain that they need to grow and flourish so that we may feed the world.  Bless-bless, Barb

Am traveling tomorrow to join Ruth's family and Nancy's family and John in Michigan, and tonight we pick up Maria's family at the airport and they travel with me!  Soon we will all be together on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan!  Safety, dear Lord!

Off to paint, pray and bask in LOVE!

After work today we will be excitedly going to gather into our arms our daughter from Texas and her 3 - one still in the womb!  We are beyond excited!  Then Maria and her kids and I will head off to Michigan in the morning to join the rest of the family.  It is to be a family 2 weeks with the men coming and going as work calls them.  I have been blessed with the 2 weeks off to spend with all my grandkids and all of my children expcept for Hallel!  I think that there will be a phone call made and the phone passed around for all to speak to her.  Even little Augustine will have the phone to his ear to hear the voice of his loving Aunt Susan/Hallel!  He might speak to her too!  The one thing that I stopped to buy for the time is watercolor paper, as I and the little girls spend time painting - we love that!  Maybe I a bit more than the girls, but when I get away that is what I long to do!  Thank you, Lord!
Today Jesus heals and raises from the dead!  The woman with a hemorrhage for 12 years and a 12 year old girl that has died is raised!  We are filled with hope that our own deep and chronic illness can be healed if we look to HIM and trust!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelluia
