Tears of LOVE

So hard to leave here.... tears welling up with each goodbye.  The other grandma explains it - "Her love is coming out in tears."  Yes.  Prayers for a good flight and safety for the farmers harvesting today.   Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless, Barb

The heart of Jesus

One for the road... the blessed waters of baptism flowing over peaceful Romeo.

Beloved....

Romeo has been quietly upstairs in his bed and now he just reminded us that he is here!  He is greeted by us as his dad is telling Therese that today he will not look different but he will be!  His Baptism will wash him clean of all sin and bring him into The Church!  Our hearts fill with LOVE as we gaze upon his angelic face, and we can understand that he is a Beloved of God... a miraculous creation!
I borrowed this picture of the sunrise over Lake Michigan taken by my cousin, Jane, this morning.  I shared with her that my heart is always in Michigan, and this portrays the wonder in heaven on this day of Baptism for our newest grandson, Romeo Joseph!
Awake to a family celebration starting the day - a birthday breakfast for the two grandma's... Gail's was yesterday and mine is in a couple weeks.  One more morning with my Texas family and the big Baptism of Romeo today!  Returning home to the big harvest at home...
Pat recently got a wonderful birthday card from Hallel along with birthday greetings from many that had gathered in Saint Pierre for the summer.  She went to the 60th Psalm and found a word for her dad - "Beloved"  "Beloved!  Yes, you are the beloved of the Lord.  The Father also says to you, 'you are my beloved son in whom I place all my love.'  This is my prayer for you this year, that you may know how much the Lord loves you, that you hear the Father call you his beloved son.  If we know how much we are loved everything in our life changes."  Hallel to her dad

This is also our prayer for our little soon-to-be transformed Romeo today - that he through the waters of Baptism may know that he is beloved of the Father, and know that the Lord loves him to eternity unconditionally!
Romeo will now be attending his second mass and will be baptized this morning!
Hallel also quoted Pope Francis in her letter...
I invite all Christians (you Patrick Verly and Romeo and family) everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day.  No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him, since no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord.  Evangelii Guadium (the Joy of the Gospel) Pope Francis
Jesus, we thank you for this most glorious day and calling us your beloved.  Bless-bless, Barb

Fall on the desert...

Birthday grandma, Gail, and I went white shirt shopping and for other additions for our Baptism celebration tomorrow.  I had on my list to find a gift for Oma, and so finally she said that she would get some fall decorations that we could put out in front of the house with the help of the grandkids.   As we were checking out we agreed that it gives us much more satisfaction to do stuff or give stuff to the kids rather than get something for us.  It was fun to set it up with the help of the kids and then the great photo op.  It seems that we find ourselves here in the fall (?)... so hard to feel the fall in the air here.
David had just mentioned a scarecrow scaring birds away from our mulberries, so when we saw one today we thought it was a cute addition we wanted to add to our "fall" display in the middle of the Texas desert.
Thanks to Gail's good eye in spotting the white shirts back behind lots of others... I joyfully brought home a white shirt for Patrick to wear tomorrow for Romeo's baptism.  He missed wearing white to his in the middle of the night just as we got out of the ambulance...  So excited to share this day with Maria and her family at 11:30a tomorrow!
It fits so well and looks so nice!  Tomorrow he might wear a tie or a bow tie to look really special!
"Look dad at my new shirt."
"Looking good Patrick!"
Working on a watercolor of the kids together...

Tomorrow is a big day - Romeo enters the Church through Baptism!

"I wait patiently..." Psalm 62

Oma came with a suitcase full of things for Maria, Joe and the kids.  This is a hand crocheted outfit for Therese's favorite doll, Anna, from Aunt "T".  The cute kitty pin is also from her... the kids are very excited and feeling very special on this September 24th - Oma's 62nd Birthday!  Instead of getting gifts, Oma is getting the joy of watching the delight and appreciation on the faces of the family.
Patrick greets his new brother - Maria says he is so good that she can forget she has a baby upstairs.  That reminds me of a time with Nancy - quiet in her bed and I forgot about her as I was busy with a day of canning.

Following the example of Hallel with birthdays - I went to the 62nd psalm today for Joe's wonderful mom, Gail!  The first line was so appropriate today for this woman, who is very patient and takes life at a slower pace than I... "I will wait patiently for God to save me; I depend on him alone.  He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender."  Gail and I were sharing about their perpetual adoration chapel she is very involved in... for a week she will carry the phone and fill in for those that are unable to make their hour.  "I get a lot of special time with our Lord that week."  She shared that they are seeing fruits in vocations to religious orders and seminary!
After the traumatic birth of Patrick... he gets speech therapy.  I hear the therapist saying that he is right where he should be for his age, and giving his parents some ideas of how to help him continue to develop his speech.  I am filled with joy to hear him making his parents and the therapist laugh and clap for how wonderfully he is doing.  Gail and I are heading out soon on our shopping trip - my mission to find a white shirt for Patrick to wear tomorrow for his baby brother's baptism.
"I depend on God alone;
I put my hope in him."  Psalm62:5

I feel that I am on a retreat here with the peace and joy and growth I am experiencing through watching, living and reading... I am filled to the brim with so many blessings.
Jesus, thank you for the gifts that are showering down from heaven on us.  Thank you for the gift of Gail being here sharing her light!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
