The road with "Mary"

Yes, it was a crazy scene around here this morning, so when Fr Craig showed up to pick up John to head to Kansas City.  We had just put the cows and calves across the road into the pastures around our house.

Barefoot but packed and smiling to head to see our Community of the Lamb with his wonderful cousin, Fr Craig!  Today is the feast of St Mary Magdalene and I know that she will be shared on the 7 hour journey they will share.  I love the way Jesus says her name outside the tomb- "Mary."
The 4 wheeler crew say "hi" to Fr Craig...
Berna shares breakfast with her sweet mama cat.  She didn't have her kittens while they were here, but there is no doubt that she will have them by time they come back in 2 weeks while their dad is in India for 2 weeks.  I think she will be mama #2 as much as she loves her kitty.
Captain is falling in love with this gentle loving little girl.
Big boy Dominic sitting up to the table and feeding himself oatmeal with a spoon.  So big, Dominic!
Two quick days sure went by fast!
Nancy at the end of the driveway, Ruth blocking the road on that end, I am blocking the road on this end, and Fr Craig sitting in the neighbor's driveway taking it all in....
We keep our pet cow, Baby, in the pasture here so that she can lead them over the road!  Good job, Baby!
9 year old granddaughter, Mary with one of her show pigs...  "I have her by the tail!"  I am so lucky to have many Marys in my life - both Pat and I have sisters, and our wonderful granddaughter!

Jesus, Mary holds a special place in our lives... it is wonderful to honor that name and hold it dear.  Jesus , we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb

One foot in front of the other

Am in the middle of a huge organization project... and it is snowballing bigger and bigger.  Just like at work - I tell myself to just plug on ahead and put one foot in front of the other.
Grandpa is beloved by the grandkids - the two little boys adore him,
And he loves them so much!
Rose shows her cousin, Bernadette, the ropes of being a farm girl.

 walking the pig...
This one follows and doesn't have to chased
"Have you ever been to a pig show?  It is organized chaos!" says Paul.  So true and I laughed a lot at the craziness.
They are riding and in complete bafflement at all that is going on around them!
Ending today with one of the fair calves - Luke wants to handle this one!
Happy Birthday, Paul!  To a man out standing in his field!  WE love you and bless-bless, Barb

"Yes"

Luke is excited about green juice and says the word so sweetly and clearly.  His "yes" is precise and strong to the questions we ask him.  Eating supper with Ruth's family with garden cukes, zucchini, and our first tomato!  Of course, she has beans galore and freezes about every other day.

Summer busyness is upon us, and I will be slowing down here greatly... maybe just minutes to share a word or thought where I would spend at least an hour a day.  Luke's "Yes" is ringing in my heart and ears and mind today.  May I say mine clear and with strong sincerity when asked to serve.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
Discovered that a radish allowed to go to seed and blossom is quite pretty to see.  A true sign that my garden needs work!
Two more things that Luke's "yes" involves - a smile on his face... so big, and the LIGHT of LOVE in his eyes!  How I need to stand at his feet and learn from him!  Is this childlike?  I think so!

Happy Birthday dear mom!

Just a quick happy Birthday wish to my mom this day.  You are always in my corner whether to Pray for me, support me or give me some reality.  I love you and pray and hope that you will be with me many more good years ahead.
Jesus, hold mom close to your heart burning with love for her.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
Imagine Sisters's photo.
"Today the Church remembers the Blessed Martyrs of Compiègne. 14 Carmelite nuns and two others who were killed during the French Revolution. The women religious did not cower in fear before the blade of the guillotine. Rather, they sang as each one mounted the steps to her death. "

I came across this and thought it is a powerful sight and witness of Faith to the world - just as you are dearest mother!

"On July 17, 1794, the sixteen Carmelite nuns of Compiègne were guillotined in  Paris , convicted of crimes against the state by the tribunal of the French Revolution. On this day they were born to eternal life.

Mother Henriette de Jesus, renowned for her great beauty and strong personality, stood up to represent the other Carmelite sisters before the revolutionary tribunal and was remarkable for her heroic resolution. Since the prosecutor accused the Carmelites of being fanatics and counter-revolutionaries, she asked him to explain the meaning of those words. The irritated judge vomited a torrent of offenses against her, and then said: “It is your attachment to your Religion and the King.”

Hearing these words, she replied, “I thank you for the explanation.” Then, addressing her companion Carmelites, she said: “My dear Mother and my Sisters, we must rejoice and give thanks to God for we die for our Religion, our Faith, and for being members of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.”

Wow!  May we all be as strong in the face of adversity and death!
