"Wait for the Lord with courage; be stouthearted..." Psalm 27

After a phone call from a very disheartened friend... "I feel like our country has been raped!"  Brutal to say, yet it is so impossible to believe that the beauty of LIFE has been taken out of our hands!  We feel that we are foreigners in our own country, and working last evening at the nursing home with young women that were cheering for Obama and calling Romney terrible names... I felt dejected and alone and confused at how they could be so angry and bitter towards a man that I tought was caring and loving and promoting family values.  Then to have marriage trampled in the public forum too... I am sick about it all!   John just called me and spoke of watching with some hope, and then less and less with all the seminarians last night.  At least he was with like minded people!!!  There was such a foreignness to being with those that live such sad and hard lives.  I have always felt that way at work... there are so many broken relationships, children out of wedlock, cohabitation, homosexual relationships with children involved, the party scene and this is not only the way they are living life, but they share the sad state of how they were brought up in similar situations!  I don't even want to scratch the surface for the fear of all the sad hard things that will come to the surface!  And from this is born the liberal, and the lies are believed as being our rights to go to HELL!  Yes, the wide path... accepting all as our rights can be chosen, but it leads to misery and seperation from all that is Truth and Good!
So wonderful to look outside today and to see the sun after many dark and dreary days!  And then to see all the heifers up on the hill - attracted by Pat on the tractor and Lilly the dog playing out in the pasture with some of the frisky ones!  I rushed out with my camera to capture the crisp morning, and the sense that we can still have our island of peace and Truth within!  "Do everything without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blamelesss and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like lights in the world, as you hold onto the word of life, so that my boast for the day of Christ may be that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.  But even if I am poured out as a libation upon the sacraficial service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you.  In the same way you should rejoice and share your joy with me."  Philippians 2: 12-18  O Lord, how this first reading from mass today gives us heart to carry on with the Truth.  There were many times as I fought for the marriage amendment... that it was as if Christ were carrying the Cross, and having the jeers, and insults, and spitting, and kicking, and rocks thrown... because He was God and was the Lamb for us!  The Gospel too today tells us..."Whoever does not carry his Cross and come after me cannot be my disciple."  Luke 12  It means more than just shouldering our Cross, but also facing the world that has been deceived by Satan to believe that what is evil should be protected and lived out in their lives!  That the Cross is to be run away from, and not embraced!  Through the Cross we find LIFE and LOVE!  Through the Cross we find the only Path to happiness!  Through the Cross we leave ourselves and our wants and needs behind, and truly find who we are meant to be - we are meant to be HIS!  What does women's rights mean anyway?  That we can use contraception so that we can be taken advantage of sexually?  That we can without thought take the life of an innocent life within us, because it is not convenient for us?  That we can be in a homosexual relationship when the parts don't work to bring LIFE and LOVE into this world?  Is that something to fight for, and feel like you have won anything by accomplishing it?  So sad and hard to realize that Satan has lied so convincingly to people!  It reminds me of his enticing Adam and Eve to eat the fruit, and make them gods!  Remember they were cast out of paradise!!! They didn't find paradise in listening to Satan - they lost it!
Lord, such a deep sadness to truly have in our face the condition of our country and the lies that have been taken in hook, line and sinker!  May we continue to uphold your Truth and LIFE as we follow afer you carrying our Most Cherished Cross!  May we continue to come to that place within - our sacred temple of the Holy Spirit - may prayer be our constant companion as we walk along the narrow path and are accosted by those that do not understand the Truth.  May we with love continue to reach out to them and to see your face in all we meet!  "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  the Lord is my life's refuge; of whom shall I be afraid?"  Psalm 27 from mass today.  "Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE."  Lord, may I continue to turn to YOU and Trust!  Jesus, I do trust in you.  Amen and Halleluia

Bless-bless, Barb
'One thing I ask of the Lord;
this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of the Lord
and contemplate his temple.
The Lord is my light and my salvation.

I believe that I shall see the bounty of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the Lord.
The Lord is my light and my salvation."
Psalm 27

Our Lady, may you teach women the Truth of LIFE and LOVE and LIGHT!  You need to appear to some innocent poor children in our country!  Come, Our Lady of HOPE!
