Angels, spoons, crucifixes, her crocheting and other pieces from her collections gifted to many of her kids and grandkids. Many to go around! It was interesting to see her collections broken up, and to realize that they hold special memories of her for her growing family now up to 94!
We arrived late, and it has been nice to be able to have a low key time here with my little girl! She is very quiet and enjoying her time "alone with the toys." She is now taking a nap while the others go to shop, and once again I am grateful to my Jo Jo that we can have some quiet/nap/blog time together in the now quiet house. Visiting the Little Sisters is on the schedule for later this afternoon! We are very excited to see our family thanks to our daughter, Little Sister Hallel, being a nun in their Community of the Lamb!
I feel my late night catching up to me, and this quiet house with only a baby asleep up stairs is calling me to lay down myself... It is nice that both Pat and I are doing what we like - he having some adventures shopping in a new store, and I quietly sharing here and able to grab my beads and drift off in the midst of prayer. Thank you, Lord and Our Lady, Queen of heaven and earth!

The Readings for today were special to read ahead as we read them the night before following in the example of our Community of the Lamb... Pat and I shared evening prayer and the readings for today last night on the road before the Twins game started. From I Timothy St Paul;
"This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." St Paul goes on the say that he is the "foremost" sinner and all we need do is look at his example of being called and loved into Faith! If St Paul could be brought to faith when he was going to arrest and persecute Christians... we have no leg to stand on!

Dominic with a crucifix from great-grandma... soon it became a sword/weapon, and so it truly is! It is the everlasting weapon to defeat the devil/darkness/sin/death!
Always look to the Cross Dominic and find there LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!
From the Gospel in Luke 6 today Jesus talks about how good trees bear good fruit..."A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good," It just shows that it is so important to protect yourself from bad things that we watch or read or do as they hurt our "goodness in our hearts." Confession helps to cleanse us in our hearts, but some of those bad things we expose ourselves to are just plain hard to get rid of - they linger and hurt us, so much better to fill our hearts with goodness!

It is so wonderful to see my Most Cherished Cross/husband as he in entering his 64th year today... where does he want to celebrate? Not going out with the guys or partying with friends, no he longs to come the 7 hours it takes to spend a wonderful weekend with daughter Nancy and her growing family in KC and also with the Family of the Lamb - Hallel's Community here. He has truly built his house on the rock/foundation on rock!
Jesus, we love you and long to love and serve you with good fruit which springs from goodness in our hearts! The storms of life buffet our home, and it stands firm on you, O Jesus. We are eternally helped along the narrow path as we carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross by your Bride, The Church! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb

Ruth's beautiful porch before we came to KC - the cows in the pasture for the last time for the year probably.. Had to grab a few with the green lush scenery!
I always loved looking out the front window at the cows in this front pasture... now I can sit on the porch!
