St Pio celebration with family waffles/chickens butchering/babies galore!

The girls chased the boys with some chicken feet!  They were the brave ones.. the boys screamed and ran away.  It was quite a morning of doing a family job after grandpa made waffles for all 17 of us with his mom's trusty waffle iron!
Waffles were a hit!!!
Helper girls and scared boys...  The day has gotten away - two chickens are in the oven for supper with our crew of Nancy's family here visiting from KC.
The two baby girls on the porch in the heat yesterday while the feed pile was covered in the heat and the wind!  Puppies and kitties too!
Those 10 months that separates them will be smaller and smaller.  They will share adventures together on the farm...
Like their 5 year old sisters who found the eggs in the hens to be very interesting.  Once again the boys said "gross" and ran away!
Supper for 17 on the wonderful porch in the midst of sharing farm work of covering the pile.
Love to see a table full of family!  Just as the women cared for the "family" of Jesus and his 12 "provided for them out of their resources."

Reading about Pio before Pat and I did breakfast, and the readings linger in my heart.... Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb and all
Eating our wonderful applesauce with an old baby spoon - the handle bent so that she can get most of it to her mouth.  "This is why we do the work!"
Most of it in her mouth!
John with two of his Goddaughters!
Family time making our food - chicken time!
