The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
First Sunday of Advent tears and JOYS!/Snow!!/Let us walk in the light of the Lord
First Sunday of Advent feast on the farm after sharing mass together! Ruth's family and John's make for a large joyfilled group gathered sharing our Faith shared in Jesus, Mary and The Church!
Advent is one of waiting and preparing for our receiving Jesus in the flesh as the Incarnation and when He returns again to take us all to heaven forever with Him, Mary and all the Angels and Saints!
These words from St Paul to the Romans today made smile everytime that I read it...
Romans 13 "Brothers and sisters: You know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day..."
Yes, we are each day of our journey closer to our salvation and the time of our Lord's taking us with Him to heaven forever!
The Advent wreath! Fall on your knees! Pat and I have a plan to pray morning and night including the readings for mass each day.
Jude with his dad was as usual so good in church! He spent time with David and Rose Again holding him.
Joy was good too, caring for her baby doll.
Walking was difficult due to the snow and ice, so grandpa Pat carried Jude to the car after mass...

It's pretty, but makes it hard for the farmers getting their cattle on dry bedding and clear away the snow.

It feels like Christmas is on the way with the snow all around.
After Communion/Eucharist we suddenly sang "Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel" with only the beautiful voices of those leading the singing. I had the tears of JOY flood me for some reason at the beaconing of our Lord to come to us... how I long for this with my whole heart, mind and soul!

Mary surrounded by white and snow fills us with the strong sense of waiting for our Lord and Savior in all humility and Truth! How we long for you with each new day, O Lord!
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel! Jesus, we long for you to dwell more and more in our hearts now and forever. For Pat and I to come closer to each other with you foremost in our shared lives through our Sacrament lived out as the two become one! Jesus, we love you and trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
A fresh egg from our chickens this morning added to our eggs for our shared family breakfast on the farm had a double yoke! As Rose said - "they would have been twins!"

The tree seems appropriate to celebrate this beginning of Advent with the Advent candle lit!
The farm family make our hearts swell with LOVE , JOY and Gratitude for all their cheerful hard work on the farm and sharing our faith as a family! Faith/Family/Farm is such a wonderful blessing for us!
Family meals fill our stomachs and our hearts with happiness.
