I, the Lord, will teach you what is for your good/The Cross!/heading up to my parents

Joy and white elephant from some years back, Christmas Cat, at a fundraiser for her big sister's choir and band trip to Chicago between the Christmas Concerts at HRS.

Yes, Simon is now at the high school and Mary will follow next year with her final 8th grade year at Holy Redeemer where her mom and sibs went to school following her dad and his 9 brothers and sisters, and even Pat's mother attended some years way back 90+ years!  How we love our Catholic School!
Emotions run high to now see grandchildren at these very powerful milestones! Mary in the live nativity...
Tall Mary in the back row of The LIGHT of Christ!  So beautiful and even Simon said that he misses his time spent at Holy Redeemer.  Yes, he has adjusted well blazing the trails as the oldest at the high school, but there is a warm and comfortable feeling about being in our wonderful Catholic School!
Sweet memories from 6 years ago when Therese and her family came to be with us from El Paso, TX for our family Christmas and meeting 5 week old Luke for the first time!  Luke was baby Jesus in the live nativity at HRS that year!
14 month old miracle boy, Patrick, on the farm for the first time!  Christmas 2013!  Healthy and healed!

John's miracle and Patrick's come together 6 years ago!  How we continue to rejoice in their finding healing through prayer and The Church!

Continuing to pray for Jesus to show John his path and find work to give his gifts and provide for his family.  Jesus is in control!

A sibling sandwich 6 years ago with baby brother, Patrick, in the middle - they have since added 3 sibs here on earth and 2 in heaven!  As Therese said after the two miscarriages - "We are going to have to have a big van for all those kids!"  She understands that her family reaches into heaven and they will be united someday in heaven forever!

When my girls - Nancy and Maria have had their losses, which I prayed so hard they would not have to suffer in this way as I did with my 7 in heaven praying for me...not only did they have losses but for most of them I was there with them!  "Who better to help them and understand?" was Ruth's response to me.  True!
The gift of an hour in the empty church praying for Fr Todd with 7 Sisters this winter morning with the overflowing blessing of Our Lady of Guadalupe with her many roses the day after her Feast!

When the alarm goes off a little after 5a... it is tempting to roll over, but it is such a special gift to get up and get out with Pat and while he is at This Man is You... I can pray by the tabernacle!
Joy with Our Lady and Juan Diego on Sunday!

These words from Isaiah 48 today speak of the Truth in our day to day lives - Jesus is in control and He will "teach you what is for your good," and many times that is through the hardships and difficulties that come through the crosses in our lives.

I certainly see this in my losses, which continue to bring sadness and tears to me in my life, and then to go through it with my girls... super rough!  Yet, I do see that the Lord has allowed me to keep my eyes on heaven as I long to be united with them someday and live with them forever in heaven!  It also has taught us to value ALL LIFE from conception to natural death, and has led us to share deeply in loving and respecting one another - we were the ones that were in the  plan to live in this world and many others were called to be praying for us and looking after us... we LOVE those with a very deep love that you find when you embrace that Most Cherished Cross in your LIFE!

Always be a special rose for Our Lady sweet happy Joy!

Yes, why does it seem that the suffering we do is what is required to "teach you what is for your good?"  When things are going along smoothly we become full of ourselves and fulfilling our selfish desires and want it to go on and on.  I have found that without the hardships/the Cross in our lives the good would not be near as wonderful.  Like doing a most difficult job and finally seeing it completed and having a rest from the labor.. such a wonderful feeling of enjoying that accomplishment that giving the control over to Him accomplished and not we ourselves!
Bernadette, with dimples showing and Catholic school uniform, is now 7 and this is her artwork!  LOVE!  Always love Mary your Mother of God, kids!  Bernadette's patron saint brings her to a special place with Our Lady of Lourdes, but Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron of America and out of this world amazing, too!  Especially here in cold Minnesota and the thought of roses in winter.. an amazing beautiful miracle to show her as Truly honored in heaven!

Nancy and family are having their first winter back in Minnesota with 3 winters living in KC with much milder winters.  All the snowclothes and getting baby brother, George, in and out of the car for his first ever winter... is a lot of work and making them appreciate the last few years although they are happy to be closer to family!
Peaceful and wonderful baby Jude by the Christmas tree...
Joy will be coming to school here in about 3 years!  It is wonderful to still have many to go through our school... Jude will be here in a few after Joy so we have probably 10+ years of having grandkids at this wonderful school!
The lilac branch from Easter was laying out in the snow and was perfect for some lights to accent my mom's sweet chairs!  Thanks Maria for not wanting them - they are a gift to cherish my wonderful visits with my mom in her home in St Croix Falls for the last 9 years!
Our Lady and my mom... I am so blessed to have two such wonderful mothers!  My mom, who listened to the Holy Spirit and brought us into The Church!  And Mary the Mother of heaven and earth, who brings me to her Son each new day! " Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee!!!"

Jesus, I love you and thank you for the cross in my life.  I have excitement building to spend some time with my parents and sharing the Sacrament of Reconciliation with them tomorrow afternoon.  We are forever blessed with being able to lay our burdens at your feet in the confessional and hear your words through your priests- "Go in peace, your sins are forgiven."  May we embrace our Most Cherished Cross and find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Mary with the 8th grade girls!
Mary is a shepherd in the back left!
I thought this rang true - LOTS of prayers for our marriage and many others.  May we die to self and serve without counting the cost!

Nancy speaking about interruptions at Adoration this week
“I choose to be interrupted.”
These are words from St Therese, not me, but today in adoration they nagged at me heart.
Therese wrote about the freedom
of choosing to be interrupted. When she found small pockets of time to work on a project she would often be interrupted by another sister. But, since she choose to welcome all of the interruptions of her day, she turned to the sister with love.
My life is a life of interruption, but i fail, daily, to welcome these interruption. Instead I huff and puff and grump around that I am once again getting interrupted. I even do this in adoration.
But today I walked in knowing I’d be interrupted, over and over again, and I prayed that Therese would show me how to choose to be interrupted. I have so far to go, but there is so much freedom in this idea.
And so, I choose all the interruptions of me day, and I pray that I will learn to see Jesus in all those interrupting souls in my life.
Hang in their friends.

She told me she starts her hour half way through the person in there adoring and 1/2 way through the next person, so that she doesn't distract either one for the entire hour!

My niece Audrey with her two girls! LOVE!  My sister, Mary, was lost to cancer when Audrey was 20 months... it gives me so much comfort and JOY to see her with her sweet girls now!  Eleanor is just a few months and smiling so sweetly with her big sister Emelia,  and mom!

St Lucy pray for us!
Happy Feast Day
Saint Lucia (St. Lucy)
283-304
Feast Day: December 13
Patronage: blind, martyrs, Perugia, Italy, epidemics, salesmen, throat infections, writers
Saint Lucia or Lucy was a 3rd C. Italian martyr who brought the light of faith, hope, and charity to the poor and Christians in the darkness of the catacombs. Tradition has it that during a terrible famine in Sweden a beautiful girl with a glow about her head, came to shore bringing food, saving the Swedes from starvation. On December 13th, St. Lucy's Day, the eldest daughter wakes the household, bringing St. Lucia buns and coffee, wearing a lighted wreath on her head, a white gown, with a red sash, representing baptism and martyrdom.
