The first reading today from I John speaks of how we are so loved by our Lord and Savior!
Reading I 1 Jn 3:22–4:6
Beloved:
We receive from him whatever we ask,
because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
And his commandment is this:
we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,
and love one another just as he commanded us.
Those who keep his commandments remain in him, and he in them,
and the way we know that he remains in us
is from the Spirit whom he gave us.
Today is the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus!

Joy!! The Littles - Birdie, Jude and Joy dance in the kitchen after we share our meal after mass!
Tommy joins in his infant seat. They would walk by and bounce him to the beat!
Since CCC this has been the hit with the kids!
Crab Rave - you might become addicted like the kids are!
There will be a dance at our VCC - Verly Christmas Camp a week from Friday! The fake plans are flying all around with plane tickets to be bought, traveling long distances in the winter, renting a tubing hill and if there will be snow - too much or too little, so plans are called fake until we see what we can see. Lots of prayers for them to all come together according to His plan!
Grandma was dancing while she took too many pictures! I should just learn how to put small videos on here and then I wouldn't have to try to share it with picture after picture.
Birdie thinks that a baby is pretty sweet and special, and so he is!!!
Our Marshall families gathered on a cold winter's Epiphany. Lors of good food and happy faces!
Birdie knows how to say "doughnut" very well. While she was here at grandma's she played with our wooden hosts and would come up and place one in my hand saying very clearly "Body of Christ" in her 19 month voice. Talk about the sweetest!
The gift of an experience for the family is their present! Family Fun weekend Jan 21-23! Even mass at the Basilica of St Mary where Pat and I were married 43 years ago on August 3rd!
Thomas is the other present above all others! The best gift there is!
Birdie and Tom getting to know each other brings smiles from both! The sun just came out - JOY!

Jude and Tommy checking each other out! In a few years they will down on the floor chasing each other with all the wonderful trucks and combines and tractors without a doubt!
Family is the best! Nothing can replace the family!

John came over with the kids for the rest of the day and evening. While was here our Little Sister Hallel called from France! Although it was 10p there - she sounded rested and good. She plans to call Nancy and catch up on her new niece, who is now 2 1/2 weeks old. And then tomorrow to call her sister, Ruth, who will be celebrating her 42nd birthday on January 4th! John did get a chance to speak to her along with Pat and I! Even Birdie and Jude said "Hi Aunt Hallel" in their sweet little voices.
John did say that it is hard to share with his sister and catch her up on his children when she cannot see them or spend time with them. Every 3-4 years she can come home for a visit for a few days, otherwise we have to go and see her. Living in France makes that almost impossible, but her calls are a sweet sound to our ears and JOY to our hearts!
The Gospel today is filled with so much! Jesus lives out the prophecy of "the people who sit in darkness
have seen a great light,
on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death
light has arisen." Today for us as for then...From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say,
“Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” they brought to him all who were sick with various diseases
and racked with pain,
those who were possessed, lunatics, and paralytics,
and he cured them.

Jesus is here with us today still! HIs Spirit of JOY and all the fruits of the Spirit, All the gifts of the Holy Spirit are poured upon us. He continues to hear our cries for healing and they are answered in the confessional and in Truth. Jesus! We love and adore You, and long to be more yours with each new day as we die to self so that we may become your hands and feet and voice proclaiming "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.": Every time we attend mass Heaven comes down to earth!
