David and Goliath/Slow roads for the travelers = prayers without ceasing/Save LIFE each day

Thanks to son-in-law, Captain Joseph, and his family - we need to do a crazy one when we go to the effort of getting everyone together for pictures.  Generally I am not a fan, but this year it was fun and really shows how we have been up and down this 2nd year of the world pandemic and all that rest.  We have yet to get back to normal, so why not show the crazy with some love on both ends, and adorable baby goats in the middle?
The work of art one.  I just sent this to the gal that helped me order my shirts, as I thought she would like to see them on each of us.  "What a great picture.  You are blessed."  Yes!!!
As much as I love our matching shirt picture... all dressed for mass and sharing our Faith as a family is what truly gives me the greatest JOY and HOPE that we can truly raise our little ones as LIGHTS for the world.

When Pat and I were making our engagement retreat 44 years ago. We were sharing that we wanted to have a large family.  All the other couples were appalled at us and shared that they would only have at most 2 children with the mess the world was in.  It made me question Pat if we were being selfish to have many children.  His immediate answer; "the world needs lights."  Now the responsibility of raising them in the faith in our domestic Church/home!

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Our marriage stories - "The world needs LIGHTS!"

A picture taken 10 years ago of Ruth, Maria, and John with Nancy's first child, Augustine.  I used this to ask for prayers for John as he had his MRI 6 years ago in Rochester.  All clear and no cancer continues to this day - we have now entered his 13th year post cancer!

David and Goliath is the first reading today from I Samuel 14!  John truly fit this bill as a young man facing such a rare and life-threatening cancer and winning!  Always this story makes me feel a deep sense of thanksgiving for the Lord's protection - David continued:

“The LORD, who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear,
will also keep me safe from the clutches of this Philistine.”  Yes!  Lord and Thank you!!!
Spirit Juice video of his journey

Another super sweet memory of 3 years ago today on a cold winter day in St Croix Falls!  Mom and dad and I at supper at my brother's house.  Dan's wife, Angela, is the best hostess and we were treated like royalty.  I am so grateful for all the wonderful times I was blessed with spending time with my parents over those last few years.
It is a cold one today with wind chill down to almost 30 below here.  Sun dogs tell the world visually that it is super cold and stay inside.  My two cats walked out and back in this morning.
I was concerned to get this picture of the roads in Montana this morning as they do day 2 of driving from Marshall to Fort Lewis, WA.  Many prayers for their safety.

So relieved to get these pictures a short time ago of the roads now dry and clear as they go through the mountain passes!  Hallelujah!
My prayers are answered and I will be so relieved when they are home at about 7:30p tonight!  Tomorrow I pick up Pat at the airport and get him back home on the farm.  What an amazing man to do so much for his family to have time together!

A picture of what My Most Cherished Cross personally made happen through sacrifice and many prayers!   Also The Holy Spirit speaking through him 44 years ago is now the motto our family lives by and moves by and has our being by - "Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!"
We love our pictures of LIFE!
The 3 little boys and their dads!

The Gospel today - Jesus asks us...  “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”  Mark 3

That part about saving LIFE is being asked of us each new day!  Yes, on the Sabbath we are filled with Christ in the Eucharist and that brings us closer to eternal LIFE, so especially on that day we are to chose LIFE!  Yet, destroying LIFE is never OK or justified!  Each day we are to save LIFE!  It is wrong to stand by and say; "I would never abort, but who am I to judge another?"  We must fight to SAVE LIFE!

The group of 3 girls in a year - all will soon be 5!

LIFE is a gift and must be protected from conception to natural death!

Danielle Rose - wonderfully made - Psalm 139

The photographer snapped while we were gathering... thanks, Eric, for being there to give us this wonderful gift!
Our family brunch after was waffles with cans of whipped cream - chocolate, vanilla and peppermint!
The Gospel on Sunday shows the way that Jesus overwhelms us with his LOVE/LIGHT/LIFE!
Pat with Maggie yesterday morning at 5a.  Prayers as they travel in their chapel on wheels.  Pat shared that on the way here they shared morning prayer.
LOVE that Therese wore her shirt from camp on the trip!  It says a lot for a 13 year old to do that, and she also told me that it was a great time!  The tubing hill added on Sunday was a wonderful addition and there were thankfully no injuries!
Updated family pictures on the wall... still need to get Maria and Joseph, but they are in the BIG PICTURE!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and our family of 33!

Benedict today reminds us that we find our Faith in seeing Christ in others.  In marriage this is so true!  I see Jesus in you!

Brother Victor and dad today also pointing out that we need to see Christ in each other.  "Wounded, I will never cease to love."  motto of Hallel's Community of the Lamb!  How we can die to self so that Christ may live in us!
Be Alright - the whole world in His hands
