David Joseph St Isaac Jogues' Confirmation/Archbishop Joseph Naumann, my hero!/The LORD is my rock, and my deliverer - +JMJ+

The 14 of us with Archbishop Naumann at the Confirmation of David Joseph on Tuesday evening in Leavenworth, KS.  His Godfather, Jim, traveled from Minnesota to be there for David.  David chose a very amazing and powerful Saint for his Patron Saint - St Isaac Jogues, who was a missionary to the American Indians and was martyred.
Lots of laughter and sharing and meals and painting and time for me to blog.  It was a relaxing few days in Kansas culminating with Therese's 16th Birthday on Monday and David's Confirmation on Tuesday.

Hubby, Farmer Pat, drove to arrive in time for supper and the Confirmation and take me home on Wednesday.  Our semi-retirement with our farm family at home to fill in with the heat of calving going on... allowing us to take some trips for family time.

Maggie fresh out of the tub and in her Easter dress for this special step in his faith by brother, David.
Maggie will be 3 in May, and is a very sweet girl who loves her Bumpa!

Happy girl to be with her Bumpa for an evening.
Maria has her kids so well disciplined and they help each other out!  Such a touching sight to see big brother, Patrick, helping his 5 year old brother, Hector, put on his shoes for mass.

Sweet Magdalene Rose with her old grandma.
Archbishop Naumann confirming David Isaac Jogues.

St Isaac has mutilated fingers from his capture by the Mohawks Indians.  He escaped but then returned to Canada to continue his missionary work and was eventually killed.
David's younger brothers, Patrick and Romeo, assisted the Archbishop with his staff and hat.  They were very reverent and alert to what they needed to do through the very long service.  Major Joseph, their father, was very proud of how well they did.
Patrick with his staff.  Archbishop is very important to us as he brought Hallel's Community of the Lamb to Kansas City, Kansas!  They are out of France and this is their first and only Foundation in The United States and it is only half a day's travel for us from the farm in Marshall!

We are eternally grateful that there are times that our nun can be close to home.  Even when she is in Europe, we still have our Family of the Lamb there and we can still visit and be close to our Community of the Lamb!

David and his Godfather, Jim, greeted by Archbishop Joseph Naumann.  It was the Feast of St Joseph that day, and Archbishop shared that the Little Sisters had called him from France to wish him a happy Feast Day.
Archbishop is also the head of LIFE for the Bishops!  He is very outspoken in saving lives that are in danger of Abortion. He also is black and white about those that claim to be Catholic in high political positions and promote abortion rights up to birth!  So wrong and horrible!  He is my hero!

All life is precious to Him from conception to natural death.
Amazing gifts for David from Godfather, Jim, of St Isaac Jogues!

Maggie Rose is sweet and 2 1/2
7 year old Evie in her braids for David's special Day.
She will have her First Communion in July in Kansas.

Good job boys!
Dad's man, Brother Victor Antione, today on Humility.... love how dad shared with me the gems he found there.
"dear last place."  Yes, I need to find this and want this!
Baby Tom 2 years ago with his first baby calf - he was just 3 months old!
He still is not afraid of the cows and calves, but chickens are not loved by Tom!
Tom was here yesterday making grandma feel like she is back into the routine.
Tom thinks that Neumann is very soft...

The Psalm today speaks of how we are forever protected and helped if we humbly ask our Lord and Lady to help us!

Responsorial Psalm

PSALMS 18:2-7

1I love thee, O LORD, my strength. 2The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold
. 3I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. 4The
cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me; 5the cords of Sheol
 entangled me, the snares of death confronted me. 6In my distress I called upon the LORD;
to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached
his ears.  Psalm 18

Lord, I long to die to self so that I may serve without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.
Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many little sisters and little brothers.
O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you...  Psalm 63:1

David Joseph Confirmation Day today/"...through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived" - The same Spirit! -+JMJ+

Jeremy Camp - Same Spirit

Today the Holy Spirit will pour upon our Little David in a powerful way as the Bishop lays his hands upon him and prays over him in the Sacrament of Confirmation!  It was striking to read of the Holy Spirit at work today on the Feast of St Joseph in the Gospel from Matthew...

Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.
When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph,
but before they lived together,
she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.
Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man,
yet unwilling to expose her to shame,
decided to divorce her quietly.
Such was his intention when, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
“Joseph, son of David,
do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.
For it is through the Holy Spirit
that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins.”
When Joseph awoke,
he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him
and took his wife into his home.  Matthew 1

"For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her..."  The  Holy Spirit is lifechanging and empowering for us in our lives too!

Today is the Feast of St Joseph too!  Each one of these men and boys are a Joseph in first name or middle name.  We will all be together today to celebrate this most blessed Sacrament with our David Joseph.  My husband, who chose St Joseph as his patron Saint on his day of Confirmation is on his way to be join with us for the celebration of great JOY!
Now with the girls - Maggie will be 3 in a couple months, so this was that long ago.
David last night singing "happy 16th birthday" to his older sister, Therese.  Tonight the celebration will be all about him and his coming fully into The Catholic Church for his lifetime.

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is"sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. The prophets of the Old Testament foretold that God's Spirit would rest upon the Messiah to sustain his mission.
Therese and her Oma decorated cupcakes for her birthday - too beautiful to eat, but we did anyways!

A beautiful way to explain just what happens when we are sealed by the Holy Spirit at Confirmation.  I am also super excited to see Archbishop Naumann, who brought our Hallel's Community of the Lamb to KCK!

Beautiful Therese celebrated yesterday and now David today.  It is a most festive mood around this place on base in Fort Leavenworth, KC on March 19th, 2024 on the Feast of St Joseph.

Since they are homeschooled they did extra work last week so that these two days could be open and about great family time!  Truly we are having a wonderful party of visiting and playing games and doing lots of dishes, and visiting, and praying and making wonderful memories.  Prayers for safe travels for Bumpa, who should arrive at about 5p!
Your turn tonight David for this big step in your Faith journey.
Oma with the 2 older girls at breakfast - Opa made us pancakes with their wonderful maple syrup!  Lots of happy times sharing.

Oma and I have had shared experiences with our military family with Patrick's traumatic birth 11 years ago, and Maggie's cranial surgery a couple years ago.  We are a good team and were sharing how wonderful the MCCW - Military Council of Catholic Women is!  They are young and have been so generous with meals and helping out when we had a need!

St Patrick on the 17th and now amazing St Joseph on the 19th - we are very blest indeed!
Yes!!

A memory of great power for me - on March 16,2020... my dad praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with my mom just hours before she passed away after falling and breaking her hip and dying in a day.  She was ready, but it was a sudden and hard loss for us.  All the kids were able to come and be by her side - 4 of the 11, and the rest called to say their goodbyes!  "Thanks mom for life and for giving us a loving home."
Another explanation of what is happening in our Confirmation!  LOVE!
My cat, Neumann, sitting on my mother's chair in my bedroom after being traumatized by Maria's dog.  He was about 50 feet up in a tree, but managed to finally get down!
The Bandzuch family crown of thorns to remind them to do good deeds for mom, dad, and each other.  A ways to go yet till Easter in 2 weeks!
Cute 2 year old Gina learning about Lent and sacrifice and service.
The growing family photo wall - 14 years this summer and 6 kids in that time including Gus who was a honeymoon baby.  LIFE is a gift and they take raising LIGHTS very seriously.  Nancy has a huge ministry called Catholic Sprouts!  https://catholicsprouts.com/
Fr Kyle bringing Jesus into the classrooms of their Catholic School - St Maximilian Kolbe in Delano!
We love to celebrate our Family sharing our Faith with huge family meals at the farm after sharing mass each Sunday.  The 5th Sunday of Lent with Maria and family home meant that we shared brunch  with 20 at the farm!
2 1/2 year old Maggie with her dog, Dom.
Mary with her baby brother, Tom and sister, Joy and mom's new rainbow blanket which she crocheted in a week while watching cow TV!
Just before we hit the road for Fort Leavenworth, KS with the military family on Sunday.  Now Pat is on his way here to join us!
Blooming in Kansas!
Opa with the boys on the bench.  They can fit all in... meals with 12 and soon 14!
Eggs and parfaits for the birthday girl, Therese.
Watercolor roses with her two grandmothers and sister, Evie.
The luck of the Irish in green beauty!

My mom's slippers, cane and slippers right where she left them after falling and passing away in a day.  Very sudden!  Dad only lived there for another month and then he came to live with me in my "Farm Monastery."  6 months in hospice with me and sharing his religious life with me!  A wonderful end of his life with me!

Such a joyful sunny picture in Kansas!  Jesus, we thank you for the wisdom and beauty of your amazing Church.  Bless David this day as you come to dwell more closely with him.  St Joseph and St Patrick we ask you to pray for us and bring us to your Savior, Jesus Christ.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many little sisters and little brothers.

the unfolding of the mysteries of human salvation,
whose beginnings you entrusted to his faithful care.
Collect ~Today's Liturgy

"The same divine hand which fashions each man's heart
gave a father's heart to Joseph and a son's heart to Jesus, so that
Jesus obeyed Joseph and Joseph did not fear to command Jesus.
It was because Christ's true Father had chosen Joseph to act
as father to His Son in this world.  And in so doing God had,
as it were, charged Joseph's breast with some ray
or spark of His own boundless love for His Son.
It was that that aroused a father's love in Joseph; so much
so that, feeling a father's heart burn within him, Joseph also
felt that God was telling him to use a father's authority." -Bossuet

"Saint Joseph believed unhesitatingly in the mystery
of the Incarnation, in the fruitful virginity and in
the divine maternity of Mary. He believed without
seeing the miracles that were to fill Judea with
his glory and renown of his holy name.  We too
should recognize Jesus in the frail Host that is
offered to us at the altar. Here He is even smaller than
at Bethlehem, more hidden than in Saint Joseph's workshop.
Still it is He, 'I believe all the Son of God has spoken,
than Truth's own word there is no truer token.'"
  Bishop Pierre-Anastase Pichenot

“He [St. Joseph] nourished with the greatest solicitude
Him whom the faithful were one day to receive as the
Bread of Life on their homeward journey.” - Pope Pius IX

San+José+(eligelavida).jpg (300×400)

"Saint Joseph  joined with Mary in adoration and
united himself to Christ, Whose heart surged with sentiments
of adoration, love and praise for the Father and of charity for men.
St. Joseph’s adoration kept pace with every stage of
our Lord’s life, drawing upon the grace, the spirit, and the
virtue of each mystery.  In the Incarnation he adored the
self-annihilation of the Son of God; at Bethlehem, the poverty;
at Nazareth, the silence, the apparent weakness,
the obedience, and all the other virtues of Christ.…

Because his faith was so strong, Joseph’s mind and
heart bowed in perfect adoration. Imitate his faith as you
kneel before the humble Christ annihilated in the Eucharist.
Pierce the veil which covers this furnace of love
and adore the hidden God.” - St Peter Julian Eymard

"When Egypt was laid waste by the great famine,
Pharaoh told his people,
Ite ad Joseph! - Go to Joseph!... (Genesis 41:55)
So if we are in trouble, let us listen to the
word of the Lord and take Pharaoh's advice;
let us go to Joseph if we wish to be consoled."
- St Alphonsus de Ligouri
