The LOVE in the midst of suffering - Lenten journey!

It has been a wonderful family day around here... Nancy was home with her 2 little ones to be a part of calving.  We brought in our Easter tree about a week ealier than usual, and it felt frozen solid when they brought it in on this cold Saturday!  I had boiled a bunch of eggs for some potato salad and we were going to have some at breakfast, and tought that it would be fun to decorate them.  Mary made a most beautiful Lenten decoration on hers.  She described it as LOVE and looking at it - it appeared to be the look of thorns with a heart at the center.  It led to a discussion of how lent leads us on the path of suffering Christ walked finding the Cross at the end and the sacrifice that brought us to LIFE, LOVE and LIGHT!  Very powerful for us to realize that Christ is our source of LOVE and to find it truly we must embrace our Most Cherished Cross!
Then for St Patrick's day tomorrow - there were the 2 leprechan eggs that Simon and Mary made...

The shamrock bonkers had to come out too!

Bernadette met her first calf in the warming box, and it was comfortable in there.
The large group didn't go quite so well, but we just had to try.  In a few weeks when Hallel is here for her 5 days the weather will hopefully be warmer and the little ones in a better mood.  Spring really needs to come soon!

Mary is a big helper with the calves - "I learned a lot showing Snowflake last year, grandma."  And even without a halter she did look like she knew what she was doing.
Best of all there was lots of LOVE to go around!  That is what holds a family together and is a little silce of heaven here on earth.  Thank you, Lord, for showing us the beauty found in True LOVE.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb

Rosie got out there after her nap to meet a twin that we are bottle feeding now...

Mary is the biggest helper with the calves this year!  How grandpa and daddy love to have her interested and helping out.  Thank you, Mary!
