"Be it done."/SNOW/Annunciation with deep meaning

April 9th... after the all day Sunday snow and a 2 hour late start for school... we found these 3 playing in the snow and waiting for their school bus to come through the fog.

As Bernadette pointed out as we drove the 3 miles between our places - "It is white everywhere!  The air is white and everything else." a rare sight to these Kansas City dwellers to be sure!  Her parents have landed in Portugal by now and on their way to Fatima!  Nancy is armed with 700 petitions to share with Our Lady of Fatima!

This will be short today with the crazy going on around me with 6 kids and the toys that become grandmas when they can't share, and the head bumps, and the snacks wanted, and the husband calling, and attempting to read the prayers and readings are interrupted to the point that I have almost given up!

The snow has made life challenging, and all of us sigh with the almost lost hope of spring coming anytime soon!
Joy in a bubble sink, the Easter tree, and Mary trudging through a foot of snow to the bus...
John 2 hours late start was nice so that he could help me get kids dressed and over to the farm quickly this morning.

The Annunciation today is very powerful in the midst of Easter and winter hitting us again and again, but most of all that I have been given the hidden JOY of two pregnancies newly discovered.  It makes the annunciation of New LIFE coming into the world super charged with specialness!

"The Virgin Mary uttered that generous word, "Be it done"
... Immediately the Heart of Jesus, ever to be adored,
has begun to pulsate with love, divine and human."
Pius XII, On Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 63
That beating heart both human and divine/LOVE!!!
The pink boots came along today, but grandma is not up to getting them in all their snow clothes.  I am lucky to have these sweet pictures thanks to Nancy's beautiful camera!

I love how Our Lady is looking over them.  She is so close to me this week knowing that Nancy and Bill are so closely with her in Fatima.  All those petitions traveling with them... including one from me, and others I am aware of make for this being a very personal experience.  Adding to that the huge Feast of The Annunciation where Our Lady reveals to us her wonderfulness!!!

So in love with these pictures.. a fresh foot of snow is now on top... Grandma could get so many amazing pictures, but it is just too much to think about getting them all bundled up!

"The Wisdom of God creates poets. How evidently this is so can be seen by considering Mary of Nazareth. When she had given to the Lord of Hosts the Flesh that would become our Bread, Wisdom caused her to break into a poem of praise, a song repeated by more people than probably any other ever composed. The Presence within stirred her to exult and proclaim the One 'who has filled the hungry with good things'. And the praise owed to the Presence of embodied Wisdom among us has never ceased in the Church from that day until this."

The Hidden Manna
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
Therefore the child to be born
will be called holy, the Son of God.
And behold, Elizabeth, your relative,
has also conceived a son in her old age,
and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;
for nothing will be impossible for God."
Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word."
Then the angel departed from her."  Luke 1 - the glorious Gospel for today!

Yes, we are all called to raise LIGHTS in our domestic Church/family as Mary and Joseph did in theirs!
No dresses and sweaters today... snowclothes are needed!
Modeling proper attire for this April 9th, 2018!!

When the Divine Child was conceived, Mary’s humanity gave Him hands and feet, eyes and ears, and a body with which to suffer. Just as the petals of a rose after a dew close on the dew as if to absorb its energies, so too Mary as the Mystical Rose closed upon Him Whom the Old Testament had described as a dew descending upon the earth. When finally she did give Him birth, it was as if a great ciborium had opened, and she was holding in her fingers the Guest Who was also the Host of the world, as if to say, ‘Look, this is the Lamb of God; look, this is He Who takes away the sins of the world.’”
