John 6!!!!! Thunder snow and rain/blizzard/thankful for the running circle/"nightcap and prayers!!

These two baby girls are having a week together to share experiences... like Joy's first goldfish crackers!  Joy is next to grandma taking a nap now on the couch by grandma.  Joy's pretty pretty mommy has pegged her as "a snuggler all day long."  Probably due to her love of sucking her two middle fingers on her left hand while she holds onto her special blanket or her mommy's hair!

Lunch with the 6 while the older 4 were at school yesterday.  I have been happy with their being good eaters for me.  Joy had to sit up on a box and bigger kids on both sides to keep her from falling off.


The weather is a huge concern for us!  Many things have been canceled including the TEC for this weekend and The speech sections were held last night instead of the weekend.  Pat has said that he will probably spend the night at the farm tonight as he is not sure that he can make it back there in the morning as a blizzard is predicted with a foot of snow and huge winds!!!  So many prayers about the safety of cows and calves not to mention all those that need to be out there in the elements!

Over at the farm with the 10 kids after school yesterday.  Dominic got to ride in the tractor with grandpa, and Jo Jo checked it out, too! 


Ruth and I know that we can be a good team when it comes to these big occasions!  She had supper for 14 in the oven, went out to help, I fed and cleaned up the meal in shifts as the boys had gone out with bare feet to get muddy, and we got the babies fed, the two olders before they headed out for class in town with dad, grabbed the two 5 year old girls and carried Berna to the sink to wash her muddy feet... She then ate 2 plates of Aunt Ruth's hot dish!  Ruth also cut up the first watermelon of the year from Honduras!!!  It was a huge hit and Joy had her first watermelon, and loved it! 

"And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes,

Acts 5:42 from the first reading for today!  Love it so much and may I never back down from sharing the Truth as it will set us free and to share that with all those around us is the best thing we could ever do!  Most especially with those the closest to us in our domestic church/family!


The Apostles had been scourged, and ordered not to speak and we face that with all the pressures and darkness that surrounds us in so many ways!  May we be strong!!!

Feeding 6 for lunch... will be happening here soon again.  "We can do this through God, who strengthens me!" 


I was overjoyed to see that we are going to be reading John 6... I looked ahead!  Why?  Just as loving Mary leads us only to the True Church/Catholic Church, so too the words of Christ in John 6 which tells us to eat his Body and drink his Blood reveals to us where we need to be and how we are called to receive the Eucharist as often as we can manage!  The Church makes is possible for us to receive it daily!!!

Yes, that is a big muddy tire Dominic!  So much mud and cold and wet and challenging weather to deal with this spring.   The talk is definitely to move back calving to later next year!


John 6 begins with the miracle of feeding the 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish!!!  They were filled/their hunger satisfied and baskets left over!  How often have we experienced this same thing?  It is called a miracle for sure, but also is a description of Divine Providence!  My family growing up had many miracles as the Lord provided for our family in a most amazing and very generous way!

5 years ago today... after sharing mass in Ghent Church with Hallel home in the middle of a huge snowstorm! We now have 15 grandchildren, one on the way and 4 in heaven!  Love this so much!!!  In about 6 weeks John and Bobbi will be married in this beautiful church... no snowstorm possible, right? 

John serving at the mass in Ghent 5 years ago... he was discerning the priesthood and now he will be married to his Bobbi in 6 weeks in this stunningly beautiful church!  The Lord works so powerfully and miraculously in our lives and has such a special plan for us if only we ask and Trust!

Jesus, we are so filled with all that you have given us... filled to overflowing with left overs that show your generous love for us and your mercy that allows to freely serve without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and hallelujah
