New leaves all around a sweet little girl and a dog in the climbing tree with the lush green grass... April of 8 years ago!
The grass is bright under the melting snow still here this year of another April Blizzard.. two years in a row. Realizing that there was also a blizzard with feet of snow in 2013 when Hallel came home for her home visit..."3 blizzards in the last 6 years!" farmer Pat pointed out.
More green grass and clothes on the line with little 2 year old Simon and the lilacs starting to put out leaves. Another April of 12 years ago. LOVE the bunny ears as this is Holy Week and many powerful emotions are filling me after Stations of the Cross and Reconciliation last evening with long lines!
Hearing about long lines for confession in the Cities from a sister-in-law... they will have 10 priests to accommodate all the penitents for as long as it takes! She is off to Basilica of St Mary for a prayer service for the fire in Notre Dam yesterday! The entire world seems to be grieving the fire damage done to this century old Catholic Church of Our Lady!
Maria, clothes on the line in spring, barefoot boy with bunny ears and dog with lamb ears collide!
Maria is a new mom to child #6 now in these 12 years since! Simon is 14 and already had drivers ed, and he now has 5 younger siblings, too! Roger was killed last summer on the road after all these years.
I guess that I am just looking back at spring and Easter pictures... focusing on the green grass and new leaves and this year we have the new little boys to rejoice over and Easter will be most special as we gather around baby Jude as he is baptized at the Easter Vigil surrounded by 20 of our 29 in our immediate family! About as good as it gets for us!
John with his dogs and baby calves a few years back... another sign of spring and new life - we have about half of our baby calves born and half yet to come. Pat reported that the cows should start "popping" out their calves right around Easter again.
One day old baby Susan Angela/Little Sister Hallel in the lap of my mother and surrounded by her big sisters, Maria and Nancy in 1983... She was girl #4! My nest filled with 4 girls and "then you had that boy!" A collective sigh and cheer when we walked in with that blue bundle!

Hallel/The virgin with her lamp lit - the Gospel comes to life on the occasion of Hallel's final vows in France last August! "I promise unto death."
My heart was tugged by the readings today... there was much about those in the womb of their mothers and how the Lord names them and loves them and cares for them!
"The LORD called me from birth,
from my mother's womb he gave me my name...
For now the LORD has spoken
who formed me as his servant from the womb...
I will make you a light to the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth."
Isaiah 49
Yes, this is speaking about Christ, but also each of us, who are called to be LIGHTS to all those we meet most especially those in our domestic Church/family!
How I love to look at this and know that there were 3 in the womb as we gathered around Hallel in France - the mountain of 19 sharing in this once in a lifetime moment!
Pat's mother in France for Hallel's first vows in 2011... she was 92! She died before Hallel took her final vows, but she was with us as we received some inheritance shortly before we got out tickets to fly there - leaving behind only the 7 youngest. She paid for our trips there! Knowing that she would be smiling from heaven and certainly there with us in Spirit!
Those attending her first vows to become His Bride!
Pat shed tears when the girls took their habits and changed their names the night before. Realizing the transformation that had happened two years before for Hallel! Able to fully grasp the powerful journey John and I had experienced early as we battled John's brain cancer in 2009!

The group for final vows in 2018! Including two brothers and sister-in-law, Angela! Visiting over at my parents a couple weeks ago... we shared our JOY from John's wedding at the beginning of the summer and Hallel's wedding/final vows in August..."It was an amazing destination wedding!" said Angela. But unlike most destination weddings this one included FAMILY and FAITH!
In the Psalm today more of mother and child and the LOVE of our LORD for LIFE in the womb!
"For you are my hope, O LORD;
my trust, O God, from my youth.
On you I depend from birth;
from my mother's womb you are my strength...
O God, you have taught me from my youth,
and till the present I proclaim your wondrous deeds.
R. I will sing of your salvation."
Psalm 71
When LIFE is celebrated and surrounded by LOVE and prayer from the moment we know it is growing in the womb... no matter how small... there is pain at their loss yet so much hope and yearning to see them someday in heaven. Our eyes, hearts and souls look to heaven and we strive to follow after Jesus with the help of His Mother and the Saints to LIGHT everlasting!
Eyes that reflect the depth of His LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT we have gained through our sharing Faith as a domestic Church/family! Our daughter, who is a Bride of Christ shares her JOY and her LIFE with Jesus in Word and Sacrament!
Jesus, today in the Gospel you shared a last meal with your disciples and shared your suffering and pain with them of betrayal. How we love you and share with you on this journey to The Cross. We know that if we join with you and embrace The Most Cherished Cross that we find LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT as it becomes the Tree of LIFE filled with the green leaves and blossoms and fruit of spring time! The Lamb with no blemish is sacrificed for our salvation and we are so unworthy of your undying LOVE and Mercy! May we return that love and mercy to those the closest to us that we treat the worst! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen
The Lamb which Hallel now wears around her neck. The surrounding wood for her parents - "Wounded, I will not cease to LOVE." The perfect description of what the unblemished Lamb is about to do for us during Holy Week and the Triduum! We are to in turn live this out to return what he has given us - unconditional LOVE and forgiveness to all those we live with and meet in our lives! Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

With his biggest brother, little Dave, who is 9...Why little Dave? Because he has a cousin, David Lanoue, who is Big Dave and is a year and a half older and therefore taller for now anyways!

How can you not be upset by the emotion, the dignity, the unity of a nation around its cathedral, Notre-Dame De Paris? After the tears will come joy because Marie will always be the most beautiful. After the sadness will come hope because Marie will always be the strongest.

St. Bernadette Soubirous (1844–1879) was the eldest of nine children born to an impoverished family from Lourdes, France. She was a sickly child who suffered from severe asthma her entire life. While out collecting firewood on February 11, 1858, at the age of 14, Bernadette saw an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a grotto cave on the banks of the Gave River. It was the first of 18 times that the Blessed Mother would appear to her. Bernadette faced much controversy and opposition as a result of her visions, including humiliating interrogations from both the civil and ecclesiastical authorities. Yet, many of the townspeople believed her and gathered at the grotto when she continued to have visits from the Virgin Mary. During one of the visits a hidden spring was shown to St. Bernadette which proved to have miraculous healing power. When Our Lady finally revealed her name to Bernadette as the "Immaculate Conception," the local bishop acknowledged the visions as authentic. As requested by Our Lady of Lourdes, a church was erected at the site of the grotto and spring. Today, Lourdes is one of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage shrines in the world. Multitudes have experienced medically documented cures of body and soul from the Lourdes waters. St. Bernadette became a nun and died at a convent in Nevers, France, on April 16,1879, at the age of 35. She was canonized in 1933 by Pope Pius XI. Her feast day is April 16th.

Such a powerful evening praying in front of the tabernacle with my Lord while a long line of penitents poured their hearts out before our Lord in confession! It seems that the horrible state of this celebrated culture of death is bringing us to our knees! Jesus, we need you!

This day 2 years ago... Easter in KC with Hallel and all but the Lanoues!
Easter Sunday in Kansas City with Hallel and The Community of the Lamb - we are missing Ruth and Paul and their 6, who are home watching over calving. In a month we will all be together minus Joseph as our nun comes home for her first home visit in 4 years! Family time is the Best! Happy Easter all! Jesus our LIGHT has ended death/darkness. Bless-bless — with Joe , Maria Theresa, John Verly, Nancy Bandzuch and Bill Bandzuch.
Peter Mayer - Holy now
