So sweet out in the fresh couple inches of snow with Joy and Teddy the new puppy.
I am currently in a state of sadness as it appears that our house cat, Jehosaphat is gone somehow. He survived our week away to Washington and was here last weekend, but has been missing since than. Each day brings more and more sadness, as I imagine the worst. I have checked closets as he has been shut in, but hope he would meow and scratch to get out.
He has been with us now for about 6 years, and I especially am sad as I recall how he would love me to scratch him with my toes while dad and I sat out on the porch to pray together each day through the summer and fall. Dad would be happy to see him come to pray with us too..."There is Fatty!"
Praying with dad while the cows and calves were up around the barn last summer. I am getting cabin fever and longing for my prayer time on the porch. Yet, it will be sad without dad there to share with me.I know that this is foolish and making me sad...He was a good cat, and devoted to me.
Hope is dwindling as each day passes. The stray male cat, who befriended him is now so sad and lonely out in the cold wondering what happened to his friend and so do I!
An older picture of David lighting the candles for mass... I am just back from sharing mass in the dark and cold with hubby. WE have started getting up early for me to get ready to go to That Man is You with Pat at 5:45a. Well, actually Pat goes into the Social Hall with the men and I have the entire church to myself! I have my hour with Jesus and pray for Fr Denny - my friend that I pray for each Friday with 7 Sisters. He currently is recovering from Covid, so the prayers are needed!
This was in the mail yesterday from our Community of the Lamb!
They love their chickens - we took them 3 Minnesota chickens in July and they are some of the best layers! Pat is determined to supply them with baby chicks this spring... they will quickly grow to be egg layers for them.
Inside was this sweet experience they have had with a man from the neighborhood, Captain James!
Lumen Christi Monastery/Light of Christ is in the heart of Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by the poor. They are the poor! This is a sweet story about a man, who has to look to the Lord in his life each day to stay sober! "He was singing only to Jesus."Mercy Me - I can only Imagine
First George, then 3 weeks later Hector, and 3 weeks later Jude! 3 little boys in 6 weeks!
LOVE to see them getting to know each other!
Do not neglect hospitality,
for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.
Be mindful of prisoners as if sharing their imprisonment,
and of the ill-treated as of yourselves,
for you also are in the body.
Let marriage be honored among all
and the marriage bed be kept undefiled,
for God will judge the immoral and adulterers.
Let your life be free from love of money
but be content with what you have,
for he has said, I will never forsake you or abandon you. Hebrews 13
Dad from Thessalonians in Office of Reading to me yesterday.
"The message of the Cross is our Salvation!
Jesus, may I die to self so that your Holy Spirit may live in me - that I may become your hands and feet and voice sharing your Truth! May I be a fool for Christ! St Agatha, help us to be good in the face of so much evil! I am so down hearted to think that they could leave babies that have survived abortion to die alone and unaided! How can this be even possible? End this horror in our country and our world... protect the unborn that are in danger of abortion. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
The Church is our beloved/the Bride of Christ! How dad and I and mom love it with no reservations! Each day since we entered the Church 50 years ago - all 13 of us - has been a pearl of great price!!
Dad's prayer for his family of 140+ - first and middle names. Bless-bless, Barbara
I would like to share with you all a poem written by St. Therese of the Child Jesus. Sometimes our little boat feels as if it is tossing and turning in the midst of a storm. We must remember that Jesus is in our little boat!
Child, you know my name,
And Your sweet gaze beckons to me.
It says to me: simple abandonment.
I want to steer your little boat.
With Your little child’s hand,
O what wonder!
With your little child’s voice,
And the wind!...
If You want to rest
While the storm is raging,
Let Your little blond head
Rest on my heart.
How delightful Your smile is
While You’re asleep!
With my sweetest song
I always want to rock you tenderly,
Fair Child!
