"Hi new little baby. I think I love you!"
We shared mass this morning - the First Sunday of Lent. The Gospel sets the stage and pace for us to enter this time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. I shouldn't say pace as we are not asked to fast for 40 days other than to fast on Ash Wednesday, Fridays and Good Friday, and any other item we want to limit or give up. Our Lord leads us in facing the temptations of the Devil that come along our journey of Lent and beyond. The 3 times he tempts him - Jesus uses The Word of God, which he is, to say "NO!"
Only 12 hours old
Grandma just kept taking pictures as they moved this way and that. I have them pretty well trained.
"Hello, my new friend. The adventures we will have this spring!" I envision some goats escaping and following little Tom all around the farm yard.
Rose is well versed in goat chores and takes a very personal interest in all that goes on with them.
Momma goat with her twin kids, Bo and Peep. The shop is heated to 50 degrees so they are nice and warm laying close to mom in dry bedding.
"There are her 3rd set of kids." Rose informed us
One actually a bit under mom...
Tom surprised to find some new little ones.
"You weren't here yesterday, were you?"
Hi there!
Mom nursing her twins. "She is a good mother."Yes! My Most Cherished Cross.
Such a good reminder to pray for our priests - they bring us LIFE/Jesus in the Eucharist
Tom sure loves his grandpa Pat.
A game of keep away in the house after we share our brunch.
It was kind of cute this morning at breakfast grandpa asked Joy if Tom was one of her best friends. "No, he's my brother." "But can't he be your friend too?" After Mary and Rose asked if they were her friend as well as sister - she finally realized that yes, they are both sisters and friends!
Tom loves to push the movers cart around the shop - his sisters keep him from running into things like the cars and pickup that are parked in the shop.
One happy kid! We are surely going to keep an eye on him this spring with all the comings and goings in the farm yard comes spring.
A new game has happened.
Now it is fun in two ways!..
Dad today in the prayer of The Church - the Lord's name! Pat and I are enriched in our taking part in The Catechism of The Church in a year podcast with Fr Mike Schmitz. I find that reading the Psalms and saying the Creed are much more powerful. The Trinity is awesome!!!
Pope Benedict XVI today in his daily meditations left for me by my mother, who went through it for 10 years! I am on my second now. He is so deep that there is always something to speak to me. Today self-denial and the Cross!
The cat on the couch is my unfixed male that has become a semi house cat. I put them out a week and a half ago while we worked a TEC retreat for 3 1/2 days. He did not return till today! I had lost hope and almost brought a kitten home from the farm today. We got home about noon and there he was! Pat said; "I wonder how big his territory is." Kittens to arrive in April/May. We all love our farm kittens, but finding homes for all of them is challenging.
He is always helping to circulate the news of his own death.
The essence of God is existence,
The essence of the devil is the lie,
Satan has very little trouble with those who do not believe in him;
they are already on his side." - Ven Fulton J Sheen, Life of Christ
He will comfort and relieve you.
If you are sick,
He will either cure you or give you strength
to suffer so as to merit Heaven.
If the devil, the world, and the flesh
are making war upon you,
He will give you the weapons with which to fight,
to resist, and to win victory.
If you are poor,
He will enrich you with all sorts of riches
for time and eternity.

"The Holy Eucharist is the perfect expression
of the love of Jesus Christ for man."
