Today in Delano - our first little boy is 4... of the three within 6 weeks! First George today, in 3 weeks on March 8 it will be Hector, and finally on March 26 it will be Jude's turn to join the 4 year old club! Happy Birthday George Blaise Bandzuch!
May the 4th be with you sweet boy, George!
Lucy was one month on Sunday and she was awake all of mass - surrounded by the music and bells when Jesus is lifted up Body and Blood, and the light streaming in the huge stain glass windows. Mass is a small slice of heaven, and she quietly took it all in on her 4th mass since birth. She will be Baptized in a week at the 5p mass on Saturday night!
Brother Jude sure loves her, and Birdie allowed grandpa Pat to hold her through mass with not a sound. "She was so good!"
"Tom is walking!" Bridie exclaimed as he walked past us on the way back from receiving a blessing from Father in the Communion line. Big sister Rose Again helped him by taking him by the hand.
Pat described a sweet scene of 5 year old Joy bringing Tom out to the shop. "She brought him outside and he came down the steps and out to the shop with Joy. She took him over and put him in the pen with the baby goat. Tom thought that was pretty neat. Then they walked around the shop, and got some grandpa pop out of the fridge. When I had to leave I said; 'Goodbye Tom.' And he smiled and waved to me. He was fine to see me leave, and he had his big sister there to be with him."
The party fare including 4 pounds of our Verly hamburger into meatballs that have been made for most every card party and others since our early marriage - I found the recipe in the Holy Redeemer cookbook and the page is very much marked with ketchup and all! John always asks for "your meatballs mom."
Birdie likes my meatballs too!
Yum!!!
Lucy is changing every time we see her - she is definitely more awake and alert. I even saw some little smiles for her mom last night. She has a look all to her own - not really like Jude or Birdie at this age.
Over to spend time with Joy and Tom while the others were out vaccinating the cows ready to calf soon. Joy and Cow TV which is on out in the kitchen and in Ruth and Paul's bedroom. Tom will move in with his brothers so that the sounds all night does not disturb his sleep - just mom and dad's!
Joy got grandma to play a game with her - not my cup of tea, but it was interesting = JOY came up with her own rules and we pretty much covered the board - coast to coast as she said.
Spoiling Fuzzy face - Tom petted him while he ate some left overs from lunch.
"MOOOO!"
brought one of the best firstlings of his flock.
The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, Genesis 4
I still wanted to share some of her beauty! She prayed the rosary with Bernadette! It sure makes clear that the Rosary is such an important prayer every day! How I love it! Just back from MOW in my chapel on wheels! prime rosary time with MY Lady!
Pat with a cute new steer calf with white eyebrows.
3 calves so far - all doing well with first time moms.
Clean dry bedding is very important on these winter days.
New heifer is wet from mom licking her and giving her a bath.
King of the hill - kind of funny!
Traveling around my home with Valentines in mind - I came across this swet picture of motherhood, of Mary and Jesus - the Lamb! This verse from Revelations struck a beautiful note for this - "Salvation is from our God and from the Lamb." Revelations 7:10
The Lamb which is the motto of Hallel's Community of the Lamb - "Wounded, I will never cease to love." Also a sweet Mary and baby Jesus - the Mother of God! LOVE but LOVE that goes very deep in our dying to self so that we may be His hands and feet and voice!
A very deeply moving picture gifted to me when Hallel was discerning with the Handmaids of the Merciful heart of Jesus. How is that for a Valentine's heart! Wow! So deep and so powerful to recall what Jesus did to bring LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT into the world for our salvation!
I see a fly on the wall that I missed... the sign that Maria left by the crucifix in John's room when she left to discern a call to cloistered life with the Poor Clare nuns. The crucifix that I had in the maple tree in the grove to start and end the Stations of the Cross that Maria made and put in the grove when she discerned out of the convent. "The old rugged Cross." for sure! That is what my dad was called in the army as a young man - Robert Cross!
"This is how one LOVES." Is very much saying the same thing that we hear in "Wounded, I will never cease to love." And we "See with the eyes of our heart" in the Merciful Heart of Jesus - "Jesus, I trust in you." John and I repeated this 3 times as we ended our prayer together at midnight as my hour began in Adoration and John's hour ended. LOVE to have our prayer overlap as we together lift up our hearts, minds and souls to Jesus through Mary! Bless-bless, Barbara and the 34 also hundreds of Little brothers and Little sisters!
"God speaks in the silence. Listening
