Happy Birthday John!!!/Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13 +JMJ+

Today John Patrick is 34!  A very cold day today fits with what it was like on the day of his birth.  It was -50 degrees windchill while today is maybe 30 below.  WE were supposed to be in early for my induction as I suffered from toxemia and had the babies as soon as their lungs were developed. We arrived late as hubby had to get the cows fed before we could go in to have our baby.
John and Bobbi with his best gift - new baby girl, Lucy Marie, born on January 11th!
I had an amniocentesis done the day before and Dr LaPorte said that it looked like we were having a boy after our 4 girls.  "No, I know from the 20 week ultrasound that it is our 5th girl." said I "Well is must be a big toe." Said Dr  Out came our boy!  "You had those 4 girls all with ribbons in their hair, and than you had that boy!"  There was a huge gasp in Church when we walked in with that blue bundle.  One mother shared that her daughter was so excited for us -"Look!  They had a boy!"
So much LOVE for our 23rd grandchild and John and Bobbi's 3rd child.
John asked the Lord to show him the plan he has for John alone.  Marriage to Bobbi and children... being a dad looks good on him!
Monkey butt.

How I marvel at the story of Bobbi waiting and praying for John for 10 years as he went through brain cancer, seminary, jobs, and girl friends!  "He won't die from cancer, because I am going to marry him."

Here is her story! After being classmates for all 13 years for them to come together 10 years after graduating is kind of special.  She shared to the 300 family and friends gathered at the reception in her sweet humble way about how John Verly popped into her head and heart when they were seniors in HS as her future husband.  Time and time again the same answer came to her through prayer and roses from St Therese and opening her eyes to see him right in front of her at WYD in Australia... When we consider what John experienced over those 10 years... brain cancer, seminary, girl friends, ups and downs and how disheartening it probably was and how powerful her prayers were for him!!!!  Amazing!!!   And how patient and trusting and prayerful and waiting and praying for John, this sweet girl was!

Grandpa and dad with newborn Lucy Marie.

Tom went to visit John's family this morning as we shared a birthday breakfast
The birthday boy
Soft and pink - Lucy was 3 weeks on Wednesday.

After grandma changed her diaper - she was wide awake and taking in the voices and faces around her.  When she heard mommies voice she fussed to nurse, but then she was still awake after.
A quizzical look as she ponders her new world.

Birdie and her baby sister bright eyes all around.
The final line of the first reading at mass today in Hebrews 13 speak of how we can always depend on God/Jesus.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hebrews 13:8

When we consider again all that happened between Bobbi hearing the Holy Spirit tell her that she would marry John Verly and all the years and changes in his life - Jesus remained the same and when John half-heartedly asked for Faith and got brain cancer to bring him to his knees...

The Spirit Juice Video John made to share his story.  He longs to share with the world how Jesus and Mary answered his prayer for Faith in The One True Catholic Church!

Happy Birthday sweet John Patrick Augustine! The 34th Psalm for your 34th Birthday!

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears.  The Oppressed look to him and are glad; they will never be disappointed.  The helpless call to him, and her answers ; he saves them from all their troubles.  His angel guards those who honor the Lord and rescues them from danger.

Good people suffer many troubles, but the Lord saves them from them all; The Lord preserves them completely; not one of their bones is broken... The Lord will save his people; those who go to him for protection will be spared.  Psalm 34 for John on his 34th birthday!  So true!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 34 and hundreds Little Sisters and Little Brothers of the Lamb!

For we do not preach ourselves,
but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves
as your servants for Jesus' sake.

Invoked for the healing of throat diseases, St. Blaise wrote:

“Father of mercy and God of all consolation,
graciously look upon me and impart to me the
blessing which flows from this Holy Sacrament [the Eucharist].  Overshadow me with Your loving kindness,
and let this divine Mystery bear fruit in me."

At first he was a doctor who … Attended human life … And then he ministered to souls … In spiritual strife … A bishop in Armenia … St. Blaise acquired fame … By many healings he performed … In God’s most holy name … Especially the little child  … Who nearly choked to death … And through St Blaise’s prayers returned  … To free and normal breath … And that is why one day each year … His saintliness we note … And ask his prayers to guard us from … Diseases of the throat … And even more important to … St Blaise’s great renown … Is all the torture he endured … To earn his martyr’s crown.

Protect our throats, St Blaise, from all … Those sicknesses today … And from the utterance of words … That we should never say … Lend wisdom to our voice, St Blaise … And pray that we may be … Forever steadfast in our faith … For God eternally.

Today's blessing:  Through the intercession of Saint Blaise,

In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
+ and of the Holy Spirit.

St Blaise, pray for us!
