A marriage vocation story/Pitchfork 2023 - #7/Playing mass/Lucy being a big girl/"you who seek God, may your hearts revive!" - +JMJ+

A special tradition started with John and Bobbi's engagement pictures in 2017... the pitchfork picture they used for their save the date picture.  They used it on their wedding day, and each fall since.

2022 in front of their home was last year's picture.

It was an announcement of sorts that they would be welcoming their new daughter 3 months later!

Yesterday on a very windy day we found a place out of the wind behind my barn with the chickens - 2023 pitchfork picture had smiles and centerpiece was the new member of their family - Lucy Marie who will be 10 months next week on the 11th of November.  #7 of a fun tradition with the additions!

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: John's pitchfork tradition now #6/Live as children of light./Dad gone for 2 years
I was very happy to hear that Maria's kids had had a retreat with Hallel and her Community of the Lamb - "A kid's retreat where the younger ones attended and the older ones helped."  These times were exactly what I hoped and prayed for knowing that they would be living close to each other for the year!  I pray that the grandkids will become at home in Lumen Christi/LIGHT of Christ Monastery and love to spend time there over the years.  Hopefully discerning a call from Our Lord!   So special to begin Vocations Week in this way!  Thank you Lord and Lady!
This girl joined grandpa and grandma for her first Sunday doughnuts - one in each hand!
Joy showed her a kitten that ran in the house!
Grandma put in her first topknot!  One of many in the future!
With daddy, doughnut and the Last Supper!
Joy with her Godfather, John, and Lucy in the wind!
Chasing the chickens - we were just told by our nun that they want 8 chickens to come down with us - 4 for the Sisters and 4 for the Brothers!  Pat raised them so that they could have eggs!  We also need to bring BBQ for 40, buns and chips and hamburger.  What JOY to share our farm bounty with our daughter and her other Sisters and Brothers!  Ruth and I can for 7 families including The Community of the Lamb!
Lucy with her blanket made for her by Therese and Maria!  Therese does the Cross stitch of the family!  LOVE!
Praying with John in the middle of the night.  "Thanks mom for coming into The Church, for dad saying that he would only marry a Catholic... it makes it so good for all of us to share our Faith in The Church!"  We prayed hard for the next generation to hold fast to their Faith as this is the way to True Happiness!
John had read my conversion story while at prayer - Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
10 years ago - baby Luke Paul at 6 days old - look at the snow outside!
I have been given permission to share a special vocation story from a sweet friend, Angela, from Emmaus retreat 2 years ago.  It was a very small and intimate retreat due to weather and just coming out of the covid shutdown.

Last year our family saw her out with her fiancé and they shared their plans for a wedding in Dominican Republic, which is where she is from.  I hadn't seen or heard from her for many months, so today I reached out to her.  She shared that she is now living in Boston, close to family there.  Her engagement ended when her fiancé went through some emotional challenges.  "He called off our engagement, and I haven't heard from him since."

"After a few months living in Boston I met this guy, Nick, who is a first Lieutenant in the Mass National Guard.  He had just come back from Irak.  He was only baptized Catholic but he started going to Mass all on his own since he knew I was Catholic.  We fell in love and he proposed over the summer and we are getting married December 30th in St Cecelia's Church in Boston!  Nick has been taking RCIA classes and made his Confirmation yesterday."
Angela and Nick on his Confirmation day yesterday - the 31 Sunday of Ordinary Time - the start of Vocations week!  When we pray for Vocations every Sunday in the Prayer Intentions - we pray for Priests, Sisters, Brothers, Deacons, Married couples and single devoted to service.

"My family is all coming from Dominican Republic and all over the country for the wedding - we're really excited!  Such a whirlwind fo a year, but God had my back through it all!"  Yes!!!

This verse from the Psalm in mass today - Psalm 169 speaks of God comes to us when we are poor and lowly -

Responsorial Psalm Ps 69:30-31, 33-34, 36

R. (14c) Lord, in your great love, answer me.
But I am afflicted and in pain;
let your saving help, O God, protect me.
I will praise the name of God in song,
and I will glorify him with thanksgiving.
R. Lord, in your great love, answer me.
"See, you lowly ones, and be glad;
you who seek God, may your hearts revive!
For the LORD hears the poor,
and his own who are in bonds he spurns not."
R. Lord, in your great love, answer me.

Angela's broken heart has been revived with love!
With the Bishop in St Cecelia - next they will receive the Sacrament of Matrimony on this altar on December 30th!

When we suffer on our journeys it makes the JOY that much more wonderful.  It was so providential that I heard from her today the day after her fiancé was Confirmed into The Church!  And it appears that it was his decision to come fully into The Church and chose to take this step on his own!  As one that also came into The Church as an adult with my own decision to do so!  I love, Love, LOVE all that The Church gives to us!  I pray that is true for Angela and Nick!

Daylight when we arise with the time change!
Lucy up to the table with Joy, Jude and Birdie - she did not get a piece of pizza, but got a pizza crust to chew on.  She sure felt like a big girl!
Birdie Barbara - my namesake with the 2 statues I now have of St Barbara with her tower.  An additional one was on the curb in Fort Leavenworth to give away and Maria picked it up for me!
First Orange popsicle - she wouldn't hold on the stick - brrr Cold!
Playing mass in my bedroom - the Body of Christ held up and the bell rings!  Here is the Lord of heaven and earth!
Struggle to share the bell ringing!
Now the cup!  I just spent some time studying where St Paul talks about The Eucharist - I Corinthians 10 and 11!
They have been at Mass every Sunday since they were born, and at the Catholic School at least one day a week too!  We love to share our Faith as a family!  Nothing more wonderful!
Snow 10 years ago! Wow!  Rose Again!
LIFE is the greatest gift and must be protected and cherished at all costs!
Wonderful sharing by St Mother Teresa today!  The poverty of those that are given no love!
Lord and Lady use us to serve without counting the cost - may we die to self so that we may be your hands and feet.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many Little Brothers and Little Sisters!
