The Faith of David to slay the giant!/"with a ten-stringed lyre I will chant your praise..."/Back to the daily goodness - +JMJ+

Little Brother David at the beginning of mass on Sunday.

Simple Profession of little brother David

Presided by Archbishop Joseph Naumann

Today I am focusing on the mass - tomorrow I will devote to the amazing out of this world vows!!!

The Consecrated Life, deeply rooted in the example and teaching of Christ the Lord, is a gift of God the Father to his Church through the Holy Spirit.
David is blind and uses a brail machine to read and sing.

In every age there have been men and women who, obedient to the Father's call and to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, have chosen this special way of following Christ, in order to devote themselves to him with an "undivided" heart (cf I Cor 7:34).  Like the Apostles , they too have left behind in order to be with Christ and to put themselves, as he did, at the service of God and their brothers and sisters.  St John Paul II, Vita Consecrata

Lord, have Mercy

Christ, have Mercy.

Lord, have Mercy.

"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will."
Community of the Lamb in St Peter's Cathedral, KCK - January 14,2024 at 3pm
Our daughter, little sister Hallel reading the second reading from the Second Sunday of Ordinary time from I Corinthians 6

The Body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body; God raised the Lord and will also raise us by his power.

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?  But whoever is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with him.  Avoid immorality.  Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral person sins against his own body.  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  For you have been purchased at a price.  Therefore, glorify God in your body.

So powerful from her heart and mind and soul!  I am convicted to do better with what I put in my mind!

In the Community of the Lamb Jesus, the Word of God, is processed forth as the Gospel is proclaimed in the mass!
Jesus comes to us in The Word!
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Holy Incense for the Word of God.
I took notes of the homily by the Archbishop...

David means "beloved of the Lord."  You see with the eyes of Faith and see your blindness as a gift.  .  The Lord is using you to open the eyes of those that will see what you see following the Lamb.  Religious life is counter cultural.  It is counter to what they say we need for happiness.  Draws people to this Community of - The JOY!  Follow the Lamb - the depth of God's love for us!  Ponder the Word of God - allow it to penetrate your heart.  God's Word speaking to us!  Bless these vows... The path that leads to happiness.
Listening with the eyes of Faith!

So powerful to see him carry forth the bread of sacrifice knowing that he is not able to see!  So absolutely speaking of Faith and the eyes of his heart!

Today in the first reading at mass from I Samuel 17 - David and the giant Goliath... He goes forth into battle with the giant armed to the teeth!

David continued:
"The LORD, who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear,
will also keep me safe from the clutches of this Philistine."
Saul answered David, "Go! the LORD will be with you."

David shared at the reception that he was angry and resentful of his losing his sight, but he now realizes that it is a gift from God and allowed him to embrace his vocation as a Little Brother.
"Behold the Lamb of God!"  St John the Baptist in the Gospel from John 1 on Sunday.
The Lamb - "Wounded, I will never cease to love."  They live by this, as the Lamb shows us how to love no matter what!

" Holy, Holy, Holy..."

little brother Louis Marie behind David... they have left on Missions without a dollar in their pocket!  From KCK to Baltimore!  So many amazing stories of "being beggars of the goodness of men, the joy of inviting others of the gratuitousness of LOVE with the firm hope that God's tenderness will triumph, that the Lamb is victorious."  from their latest newsletter
At the consecration of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus the Lamb of God!

Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my Body, which will be given up for you.
When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again.

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.  Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
The Supper of the Lamb!
"Lord, I am not worthy for you to enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed."

Our Father...
The giving of the sign of peace with Christoph, who came from France to be here for this most wonderful of days!
Receiving the Eucharist - "Body of Christ" - Amen
Receiving Jesus in Word and Body and Blood.
ls Marie Jean is a wonderful gifted musician with voice and flute.  The music of angels during the giving of the Eucharist to the full church of people there to share in this special day of lb David.

The Psalm today in mass from Psalm 144 is true of lb David as he is very gifted in guitar as well as harp.  He also has a beautiful voice - O God, I will sing a new song to you;
with a ten-stringed lyre I will chant your praise,
You who give victory to kings,
and deliver David, your servant from the evil sword.
R. Blessed be the Lord, my Rock!  Psalm 144
On the violin was lb Louis Marie.  So angelic are we blessed with their voices and instruments praising their Lord and Lady!
ls Stella and Dorothea living in the U.S. now.  Stella is an American!
David with Jean Marie, who was very involved with all that happened on the altar.  A few years back these two went to The Holy Land together - I am sure without a dollar in their pockets - sent forth 2 by 2 as the Lord sent forth his disciples -

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belts— but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.[a] 10 And he said to them, “Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you depart from there. 11 And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.” 12 So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them.

The final blessing - In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen
Greeted at the Reception following the service.
The icon of the Trinity that is behind the altar in the Monasteries of the little sisters and the little brothers.
Back at mass this morning with hubby - we have had such a wonderful holy time over these last few days with some white knuckle driving on both ends yet with prayer keeping us safe.  It is wonderful to be back at the daily goodness of mass followed by a great time in water aerobics in the pool at the Y, and then able to visit my Marie with MOW.  Before that I had a special time getting back to volunteering for Hospice.  A good day!

Now able to share here the beautiful pictures we were gifted from Sunday - My words are small in comparison.
A candle lit for David and all that look to Our Lady to bring us to her Son!
Dad today in morning prayer about St Anthony on his Feast today.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 33 plus many Little brothers, and little sisters.
Dad's man, Brother Victor

"The priest says, 'In the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'thus
declaring that he offers the sacrifice by the authority
of the three Persons of the Blessed Trinity."
 St Alphonsus

"Let the sign of the cross be continually made
on the heart, on the mouth, on the forehead, at table, at the bath,
in bed, coming in and going out, in joy and sadness, sitting,
standing, speaking, walking ... in short, in all our actions.
Let us make it on our breasts and all our members,
that we may be entirely covered with this
invincible armor of Christians." - St Gaudentius

 The greeting of every Mass:

In the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

"The devil is afraid of us when we pray
and make sacrifices.  He is also afraid
when we are humble and good.
He is especially afraid when
we love Jesus very much.
He runs away when we
make the sign of the cross."

St. Anthony's talents at spiritual direction were famous, and many people traveled to the desert to seek his advice.  St Athanasius, who knew Anthony and wrote his biography, said, "Anthony was not known for his writings nor for his worldly wisdom, nor for any art, but simply for his reverence toward God."

St Anthony of the Desert, pray for us!

Hillbilly Thomists - Introduced to them coming and going to the mass and vows with our military family.  So fun and great!  I could see both David and Louis Marie playing with them too!
